“My wife and I had a fabulous time. The music was superb, the food good and the atmosphere great. What made it even better was the attention from both Baz and his staff, which was the best we have ever encountered. We were made to feel very special. THANK YOU!”

“Great place that is a little out of the way, makes everyone feel comfortable... mixed crowd of young, middle and older gay guys. Really comfortable atmosphere and great music. a little jammed packed when busy though on saturday night... but adds to the vibe...!!!;)”

“The Roxy is a place to go, especially on saturday night. The atmosphere is great, there are a lot of girls and also the music retro pop-rock sounds good.”

“Great decor but uncomfortable seats that are too laid back - you're either leant forward like a nervous child or leant back away from the group! Service good, staff eager to please and attentive without being intrusive. Ridiculous prices including a service charge....£27 for a glass of laurent perrier and a tanqueray and tonic would be laughable if i hadn't already paid for it. Pleasant, relaxed vibe, clientele a mix of tourists and businessmen as expected. Nibbles are worth mentioning - nice selection of crispbreads and crudites were brought over immediately. Worth popping in for one drink en route elsewhere (we went to Petrus, which was excellent), but not worth staying for a second round.”

“I went to this restaurant tonight with a USA guest. We were assigned a table that was so tight we could not fir in to the chairs. At this point the restaurant was a quarter full. We complained and were then assigned to a table at the back of the restaurant and were afforded no service. We left but the lady assigning tables refused to speak to us. As a local i was very embarrassed and will never go again.”

The Norfolk Arms, Kings Cross (Bar)
“I went and tried the new Norfolk Arms and was pleasantly surprised. It seems that whatever teething problems there were have been sorted out and the staff were really friendly and informative. They explained the style of the place, the food and even recommended some fantastic dishes. The Seafood soup was to die for! The pigeon breast with chocolate and raspberries was just naughty. The chocolate fondant was seriously amazing. I would highly recommend going to this pub and ask the staff for recommendations. The whole evening was great and my friends and I are definitely going back seeing as they change the menu regularly.”

“Excellent pub. Always make a point of visiting when in London. My friends now have to do the same. Myself and two friends are planning on going to the Marlborough Head on Halloween night this year.”

Duke of York, Bloomsbury (Bar)
“My favourite London pub, relaxed, in a quiet setting and great for food or booze. The dining section has low lighting and an intimate arrangement ideal for groups of 2-4 and the food is imaginative and tasty, especially the pea pancakes. My meat-eating friends also seem to enjoy the sausage of the day on the menu. It's not cheap and the service is far from polished, but the Duke of York is friendly and welcoming and it serves a decent selection of beers.”

“Ended up inadvertently at 'The Cod' the other night and contrary to some reviews I’ve seen, I had a perfectly pleasant time (mind you I didn’t eat so can’t comment on that except that the menu looked enticing). Arrived by taxi for some reason and never quite got my bearings as the place seemed to be on a back street next to the rear entrances of some of South Ken’s finer department stalls. Have to say I’ve a soft spot for back alley ‘finds’ and even more so when it’s in parts of London you wouldn’t think they’d reach. Some people I met there have been going intermittently for years and claimed that Fergie used to hang out here. Not sure if that’s a good sign or not but anyway, it makes for good pub tittle-tattle. Edward Codrington, by the way was a sea Captain during the Battle of Trafalgar and the place is appropriately decked out with nautical and British sporting paraphernalia.”

The Arab Boy, Putney (Bar)
“Firstly, the beers were good. Next, and almost as important, the atmosphere created by the clientele was very relaxed and friendly. No music or one armed bandits in the Arab, just conversation with what is a very mixed crowd. As a Scotsman in London for the weekend that was very important.”

“About time Morden had a decent place to eat and drink! The menu was huge and the food was amazing. I loved the trendy décor and the place had a really great atmosphere. My only disappointment is that I hadn’t found it sooner.”

“Wow Great cocktails, nice atmosphere and very friendly attentive staff, live band on stage like every night, every time I have been have loved it. Only one thing - get in before they start charging on the door so 9 most nights, they do have the best happy hours in London no exceptions!!!”

“The quality of food and drink is not bad, but the staff, in particular the grey-haired woman that works here, is incredibly ill-mannered and rude, that's why I'll never come back to this place when I'll find myself in London!!! The worst staff I've ever met!”

The Riverside, Vauxhall & Oval (Bar)
“Nice decor, good atmosphere especially on a Sunday with the live music, great views, slow to very-slow (!!) service, food is bad (but I mean really bad, don't even try the beef or veel burgers, it may kill your tastebuds for ever, the side salat was a week old), prices are high. In short - nice for quick drinks, for everything else you'll be better off going somewhere else! What a miss...”

Owl & The Pussycat, Shoreditch (Bar)
“Nice to find a traditional boozer in shoreditch, but the grumpy bar staff add a bit too much authenticity. The Landlord looks so miserable you have to pray he won't cry as he pours your beer, and that's assuming you can get served by him, as he only seems to serve you if you are within 3 feet of him...”

“Food was average for the price - the quality having gone down in the last couple of years. When we last went the delays in service meant that we were 5 minutes over our "first sitting" time. The manageress rudely asked us to leave the table "now". I couldn't believe it. I won't go back.”
