Marlborough 46 Friars Stile Road, Richmond, London, TW10 6NQ (Map)

Despite offering an impressive level of service and exceptionally good quality pub restaurant menu during the first 2 weeks of reopening, the level /speed of service dramatically declined soon afterwards... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“Brula is great, i stumbled across it whilst walking on a lazy saturday afternoon from Richmond, we booked for the evening and had the most wonderful meal in a relaxed but polished environment. Food was delicious although i couldn't go every week - very rich - very French!!”

“It seems unbelievable that the world famous Coleherne has closed. Earl's Court was once at the centre of the London gay scene and the place is now a shadow of its former self. Those of us who remember the bar before its refit in 1995 will remember how wonderful it was to visit along with the neighbouring Brompton's Bar also now closed. It seems that a part of London's gay history has gone forever and it is a great shame that this venerable institution has gone.”

“Have heard great things about the hot new club on Fulham Road and decided I would try it out for myself. My girlfriends and I were not disappointed. We had a great night, music was fab and the staff just a breath of fresh air. You must try the Kiwi Cosmo cocktail which is just delish. Smallish venue but great atmosphere.”

“I took my husband out for cocktials on saturday. We started off at the Lobby Bar at One the Aldwych. I wish we had stayed there all night instead of going onto more "trendy" noiser bars. What a fab place for a cocktail. The interior was cool, the bar staff were so professional and friendly. And I don't think that £10 for a cocktail in a 5* hotel is that expensive. There were plenty of places to sit and you could actually here yourself talk as the DJ was playing nice funky tunes, but at a low level. I'll definately be going back. I fab night.”

“Environment and overall design is superb! Drink prices are a bit steep for the poor cocktails that the inept bar staff make, and slowly at that! This brings the star factor down a few notches. Would recommend many other bars before going to this one ever again...”

“To sarah, No disrespect but do you actually know the first thing about beer? Maybe you should stick to the tourist ridden clone bars in the West End.”

“Not enough good beers. I suppose they want to get rid of the old school dulwich drinker, food o.k Too many prams in the day. The mums look at you as if you are a leper in a pub! Get out and get a job! I only go there to see snow white.”

The Bear Free House, Peckham & Camberwell (Bar)
“I found this place doing a google search on Camberwell, and decided to give it a try, and certainly was not disappointed, huge selection of British and European beers that i tried quite a few of! I had smoked eel with beetroot and horseradish to start and then pork belly with lentils and both dishes were absolutely perfect. The portions are very generous, this is the type of simple european cooking with top quality ingredients that i love! The staff were very friendly, especially the friar tuck lookalike who was very happy to help me choose my beer. Highly recommended.”

“A couple of friends asked me if I wanted to go to a casino night, I really didn’t fancy going to the west end and said so, only for my friends to say it was local, in fact round the corner in Lavender Hill. So I agreed and went along expecting an old table with a set of cards. How wrong could I be, there was a roulette wheel, proper cards with chips and even a croupier, I was ecstatic as love a good gamble. So I settled down and began to play, I really liked the place, it is nicely decorated with a big screen to take your mind off the money your losing at the table! They had an extensive range of cocktails and the guy at the bar did an excellent job of shaking or should it be stirring in this Bond era! All the cocktails were spot on though. The owner even joins in and it’s a real laugh, a great night indeed. We left after more hours than had originally planned and agreed we had an excellent evening. It is now a regular in my calendar, it’s a great place to unwind after a hard and stressful day at the office playing with other peoples money!”

Blue Ocean Restaurant & Lounge, Chertsey (Bar / Restaurant)
“Having just step to the door.. i had a different vibe entering an indian restaurant.. that experience was great making me feel young again (lively). it was funky just put me in the mood, my daughter had a cocktail which was fabulous (sex on the beach).. and an amazing wine list... foodwise i couldn't get to moan about as i used to.. it was perfectly cooked (taste so fresh). I didn't go for desert as there was no room left to squeeze a pyramid chocolate but i was tempted as it was looking great.. but definitely next time i will as i may drop starter and go for the desert at the end. To conclude there is nothing that we can go wrong at blue ocean....”

Bombay Spice, Wood Green & Palmers Green (Restaurant)
“This place is not worth visiting. Firstly the waiter messed up my order, by adding on more food then I ordered. (Take away) Secondly the cost was very, very expensive in comparison to other curry take away’s. Thirdly the food was not of a very high standard (average/less then average). I have eaten better curry’s in palmers green, for example the raj in alderman’s hill is far better quality and much cheaper. Sorry but, Bombay Spice was a major let down. I came on this very site before deciding to buy my food there. What a big let down! Other negative reviews are more accurate on this site of Bombay Spice. Also the food had too much salt on it. £21 for a disappointing curry. Go elsewhere, this place is rubbish!”
