Great place to hold a corporate private party, from the moment I rang to enquire I was given my own personal "party planner" who invited me down for a taster session and a tour. Perfect venue for a large... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“A great place! The food is delicious and very reasonably priced - the thai red curry with duck was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, I will definitely be going back soon.”

“Cool bar and probably the most skilled staff from the neighbourhood. Had a nice chat with a staff-member called 'Brooker' and he was a good laugh after a busy working day. Keep up the good work guys!”

“Pretty decent boozer this. Fire places on both floors and a nice assortment of furniture, including comfy chairs. The food is your standard Nicholson's fare, so nothing too exciting, but at least you can eat in a smoke-free atmosphere upstairs. Overall, the pub is definitely worth a visit. And it is open until 12am, which is an added bonus. ”

The Greyhound, Richmond & Kew (Bar)
“Travelling from teessde on a recent jaunt to london I chanced upon the Greyhound on the periphery of Kew Green. I was given a warm welcome by the landlord and made to feel relaxed as i set to release the stresses of the day with the assistance of a trusty pint of Spitfire RA. So relaxed was i that i stayed for lunch, as i could not resist the fantastic smells wafting from the kitchen. I started my meal with Sticky Hot ribs, which were cooked to perfection, proved by my return to the bones.”

Ain't Nothing But Blues, Soho (Bar)
“I have been going to this bar for about 5 years now and I have to say it's my favourite bar in London. Great atmostphere, good food and excellent music. A couple of suggestions to make your night out the best it can be: Arrive around 6:30 (any later and you won't get a table), order the Texan Chilli (best chilli in town) and try to go when Ian Siegel is playing (the man is possessed with the Blues!)”

La Trompette, Chiswick & Brentford (Bar / Restaurant)
“If you want to be spoiled rotten and fancy a real treat La Trompette is the place to go. The service is outstanding and the food is some of the finest. Worth the money without a doubt. They've got the atmosphere just right as well. For a relaxed, fine dining experience I would recommend it highly!”

Picture of Fabric, Clerkenwell, London

Fabric, Clerkenwell (Bar)
“Overall effectiveness: Fabric is a good nightclub with some very good features, including the interior of the building and the general decor. The effective leadership of the venue ensures a safe and enjoyable night out for customers. The main strengths and weaknesses are: *the club has a good atmosphere *leadership ensures sound value for money *a wide range of rooms, music genres and DJs ensure a good quality and range of provision *the interior decor of club is very effective *the queue is often very long and admittance is costly. Commentary: Prices of drinks are in line with the London average and with a fairly pricey admission fee, the venue offers sound value for money. There are a range of good rooms to visit throughout the night playing different genres of music, so variety is very well catered for. Cleanliness is good and toilets are satisfactory. Location is sound, as it is just away from the busy West End area. Well worth a visit. DTPM on a Sunday night at Fabric is very popular and has a great atmosphere. The most important things the club should do to improve are: *Improve admission flow in to the club *investigate cost effectiveness of admisison charges.”

Picture of Quebec, Marylebone, London

Quebec, Marylebone (Bar)
“The Qubec claims to be the oldest gay bar in London but in fact that should just refer to the clientelle, as both the Queens Head in Chelsea and the William IVth in Hampstead pre-date it, having been around before WW II. That said, the Quebec is the best bar in Europe for older gay men and their admirers although late opening hours and loud music in the cruisy bar downstairs mean that this has brought in a younger crowd after midnight, especially at weekends.”

The Salt House, Maida Vale & St Johns Wood (Bar / Restaurant)
“This is a great, great pub. The building is stunning, the atmosphere brilliant and the food some of the best I have tasted outside top restaurants. The menu is of manageable length and seems to change admirably frequently. Everyone I've taken to the Salt House has enjoyed it too. I wish all so-called 'gastropubs' were this good.”

“Crikey, What has happened to my old watering hole in 1975? It was a great social pub. Great people, like the Nortern Irishmen, who frequented the bar in the left hand corner. And the wonderful poms, who had their own engraved pint glasses. And the women.. not only the best sorts that London could throw up in gloomy weather but also ladies who gave a rough aussie even the hint of a chance. It wasn't Earls Court, it was typical London, it was absolutely bloody beaut! ”

“Fine for the flat cap brigade: sticky swirly carpet, pints of Guinness, wreaths of cigarette smoke, uninspiring and certainly uncosmopolitan clientele. I'm suprised it survives in this location with so many drinking venues to choose from. ”

Picture of Sirous Tapas Bar & Restaurant, Hampstead, London

Sirous Tapas Bar & Restaurant, Hampstead (Bar / Restaurant)
“This is one of the best places in West Hampstead if you just want to sit & relax with a Bottle of wine, surf the Internet via free Wi-fi connection, have a snack or a full meal. For a snack I recommend you try the meatballs. For something more substantial add a few other Tapas or try the Paella. The Baked Pasta is terrific. The chef knows how to cook. The larger groups of younger people tend to stick to the pubs across the road, ensuring that the atmosphere is right for couples or small groups. It can get very busy on Friday & Saturday nights, or anytime in the summer when the dozen seats outside the front get taken very quickly. We have been there a number of times now and not been disappointed. Service charge will be included, but I am told this is because of Chip and PIN where nobody adds a tip these days. Great atmosphere & great food. Not to be missed.”

The Jolly Gardners, Wandsworth (Bar)
“this is a truly awful pub. this is a vibrant capital city, yet this pub should be situated in the back hills of some bleak northern outback such is the lack of atmosphere. a conservatory and a sky screen does not maketh a pub and the manager is a stroppy miserable sullen man who delights that his pub caters for one man and his dog! boasts the usual range of lagers that could be served in any pub across the land. squalid toilets that seem to be constantly flooded by water or some other fluid! ...whatever you do, do not enter this pub, there are far better ones on the same road, you have been warned!”

Picture of La Maja, Notting Hill, London

La Maja, Notting Hill (Restaurant)
“I went out to eat with a friend of mine at La Maja yesterday. I'll never go there again. On entering, we were met with a rough "Smoking or non-smoking?!" by a short woman with absolutely no manners. When we replied "smoking" she just said "over there!" And pointed to the tables near the door where we'd come in. No, "hello". Nothing. Not even a smile. I was a bit miffed but, we'd come a long way to eat there. So we sat and waited about 5 minutes before the waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order. Again, no "hello", no friendly smile. In hindsight I should have just got up and left. I wish I had. We ordered 2 beers to start with. The waitress returned with 2 warm beers. As we were drinking, the short woman came and locked the door next to our table. The regulars (all from the spanish community) that came in for a quick coffee were treated warmly. And although I speak spanish fluently, I only asked for the check in spanish at the end to let them know that "Yes I do understand Spanish!" The food was not that great, the only thing I could say was good was the chorizo, and 'Leaving the Restaurant'! I'll never go to La Maja. Gong out for Spanish food has, up until now, always been a good experience for me as certain places remind me of my time living in Spain. I've never been so poorly treated in any restaurant, anywhere. It wasn't that busy in there and I can understand why. We never received a smile the whole time we were there. Never again.”
