Love this place. Excellent cocktails. Great vibe. Nice people. Friendly staff. Fab music. Not pricey either. Have been with mixed groups and also just with the girls. Haven't been hassled by drunken louts... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“This place is nice and cozy, but it's full of arrogant punters who think they own the joint. Not a problem if you're a regular I suppose 'cause they're probably your mates, but if you're not and your bar hopping, or in the area and looking for somewhere to sink a few probably better to skip this one. The service is poor as well.”

“Nice decor, but not a proper cocktail bar. I asked for a Negroni and none of the bar staff had even heard of it! And when I told them what it was they didn't have any Campari to make it. So if you want the a small selection of drinks stuff served by people who know nothing about cocktails, it's OK.”

Japan Centre, Piccadilly (Restaurant)
“Been to Japan Centre since 2001, went today and it was complete disappointment. Service usual casual style, expanded restaurant for more table but price gone up by small %. Biggest disappointment was food portion decreased by 50% or so, spent £25 and did not feel my stomach, a bow of rice (don) £11 would fill me up nicely in the past! Claim to use the best ingredient but if the portion is designed for "fun-size" or kids, no thanks. Will not be returning...”

“Decor very bollywood, interesting chandeliers and cosy little booth style tables. Loved all the bollywood pictures. Set 9 course meal, the food started off promising, with delicious chutneys and poppodums, followed by the first couple of chicken starters, which were very tasty. After this the food that followed was all down hill for me. The lamb looked slightly uncooked, lacked flavour. The main course very disappointing. Chicken curry not spicy enough. Dessert was tasty and there is variety. For me personally this place is over-hyped, it is not value for money, and though it has the bollywood feel about the place, the food lacks the bollywood vibe. Service received was friendly enough. If you want good proper indian food, then I would recommend you don't go here.”

“Had a fantastic lunch with 2 mates - we cleared our plates and at half price very good value. Managed to spend our savings on drinks, well made and quality. Its quite small but a good atmosphere, nice blonde waitress, nothing too much trouble. Defo be back to Tart for evening drinks.”

Beach Blanket Babylon, Shoreditch (Bar / Restaurant)
“The service at BBB in Notting Hill has always been really lovely and i've always had nice nights out there. I went for dinner to the Shoreditch one with four girlfriends and was astounded at how completely appalling the service was. They messed up our orders. It took them about 20min to bring us the bottle of wine we'd ordered as we sat down, about an hour to bring out our starters which were mostly scallops and oysters so shouldn't take a huge amount of time to cook. They forgot to cook one of the mains so that came about 40min after the rest of us had been served our mains. None of the waiters apologised and each of them seemed to blame the other for the crap service. Once it finally arrive, the food was ok but bland and far from spectacular and certainly not worth the price given I've had better fare served at my local.”

Shampers Wine Bar & Restaurant, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“When it's time for wine and a good bar, Shampers is great. The Shampers Charcuterie Platter and a decent bottle from the Rhone section of the wine list is all you need. Welcoming and friendly, with 150 wines - I love it.”

“Friendly enough staff but the portions were on the small side. Pad thai was very average as the rice noodles were not cooked through and the prawns were cold. We had a large grounp and I am not sure they could cope with the size.”

Murphis Karaoke Bar & Restaurant, City of London (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Booked Murphis for a corporate event and initally the staff were helpful. Then a week before they claimed to have lost my booking after I paid a deposit. Then asked me if I could check if the deposit went through - great customer service! Ordered food for the night for 40 people. The portions wouldnt have served 40 primary school children. Then when my bar tab hit £1500 I found I had been ridiculously over charged. How they thought 35 people could drink 350 beers in 2 hours I will never know. They offered me a £500 refund immediately so they obviously knew this was incorrect. I am still fighting for more! Added to the smell and taped up chairs in the bar - a very disappointing venue. Not recommended at all!”

“I have been to tart with a girlfriend, and was quite disappointed by the place, the food and especially the service ... a member of staff, I remember being French didn't feel comfortable at all, making few mistakes regarding the food's knowledge, even the service ... but tried joking and couldn't leave us having a quiet dinner ... He was more than flirty even naughty ... Was so disappointed, was expecting so much from this venue in Clerkenwell... ”

“Perfect pub.... Relaxed and atmospheric - You forget time and all stresses when you go there (Nice touch with all of the clocks running at different times so you really loose yourself and stop worryinging about what time it is!) People are lovely and so friendly - everyone talks to each other and it is just a really brilliant place... Not many pubs like this left - Go there immediately... Go for the delicious food Go for the drink Go for the atmosphere Go for the relaxed interior... Just be careful because you may never want to leave...”

Rumba, Soho (Bar / Club)
“The only place in W1 that caters for real music fans, everyone in this club is dancing, there is not standing against the wall looking stoosh here. The drinks are cheap for W1 standards and the atmosphere is a good one. Music to expect on a Friday night: Hip Hop, R N'B, Bashment, a l'il Tupac and Dipset, Funky House, and some retro i.e Cameo - Candy etc. This is the only place I feel in W1 you get your money's worth a lot of the other clubs in Central a prentencious, over priced, and the DJ's do not know what they are doing on the decks!”

Cafe Rouge, Crouch End (Restaurant)
“My Husband and I went to the Cafe Rouge in Highgate for a light Sunday lunch; it was the closest thing to a Faulty Towers experience I can imagine. The waiter whilst nice had a bit of trouble understanding our order, had BO from rushing around and clearly had too many tables to handle as the service was slow from start to finish. Half way through the meal water started dripping on me though a speaker from the ceiling about - when I mentioned it I was told "ah, that’s the 4th time it's happened, sorry about that" - surely the main problem is the risk of electrocution and that the ceiling looked likely to collapse – we were not offered another table or a towel to dry my coat or discount off the bill. I ordered a Bacon, onion and gruyere cheese tart which was overcooked and bland but salty, the dressing on the salad came straight out of a pre-made bottle and at £8.25 I wasn’t impressed. My husband ordered a salad which he really enjoyed so I can't slate the place entirely but needless to say we won’t be back.”
