The Railway, Richmond & Kew (Bar)
“I don't think i've ever come across a pub like this. The Railway is right on the tube platform! Well you can't access it from the platform but the tall windows of the pub are ON the platform - very cool. And the pub is alright too. Beer garden at the back looks out onto Kew Gardens Station Parade and feels a million miles away from London. Perfect for a drink after a wander around Kew Gardens and they had the footie on. Mixed crowd of Chelsea & Spurs supporters, with plenty of banter flying around. C'mon the Blues...”

The Black Lion, Hammersmith (Bar)
“One of the best pubs along this part of the Thames. Had some lovely drinks there last night in their huge beer garden. Bottle of wine for £14, and a couple of pints that were bought out by the staff when last orders where called - very considerate!”

Salvador & Amanda, West End (Bar / Restaurant)
“Great bar to drop in for some tasty tapas and refreshing sangria. The highlight were some deliciously fresh scallops. The cave-like atmosphere gives the place a hidden feel even though Salvador and Amanda is in the West End - one of the busiest areas in London.”

The Elgin Food Pub & Music House, Ladbroke Grove & Kensal (Bar)
“This place could quite easily be my new office. As it's so big and so beautifully furnished you feel right at home wherever you're sitting, indoor or outdoor, and the WiFi is perfect for work purposes. We had a business lunch here - the haddock and poached egg is divine - and then I stayed on afterwards by myself just tapping away on my laptop. Brilliant.”

The Elgin Food Pub & Music House, Ladbroke Grove & Kensal (Bar)
“Lunch here was tasty. Portions are large and food is excellent quality - ham, chips & egg is very filling! Wi-fi seemed very popular with the punters and the tables out the front good for the smokers. Could easily be my local if i lived nearby.”

The Smithfield Tavern, City of London (Bar)
“Had lunch at this pub today. Thumbs up! Burger and chips - £9 was a reasonable price for a very well made burger. Sitting outside on the pavement was lovely in the sunshine and the interior looked inviting but not on a sunny day! Worth a try.”

The Raven, Hammersmith (Bar / Restaurant)
“A cracking old style mixed with new age pub. Very relaxed atmosphere and staff are good. Outside area could be improved with better covers - parts got soaked last night in the rain, but fairly spacious. Just a shame the 'industry boys' from the BBC turned up about 10ish going on and on and on about working in the 'industry'..... boring”

Bella Italia, Soho (Restaurant)
“A small haven on the busy Shaftesbury Avenue with some typical decor to take you to Italy. Serving are very large so don't go for the three courses and the pizzas look much better than my pasta tasted. Desserts are great.”

Egg London, Kings Cross (Bar / Club)
“I love Egg, have never had a bad night there. Music is always spot on and there are so many rooms something for everyone. Not everyones cup of tea but if you're in to after hours partying Egg is the club to be. All sorts of people, weird and the wonderful!! Love it.”

Freud, West End (Bar)
“The much hyped 'urban grit' of Freud could be seen, in a harsh light, as just a dirty basement with not much space. The cocktails are great though, and the prices are pocket friendly. Barmen provide some flair and the artwork on the walls is a welcome diversion from the above mentioned grit. Go early or on a quieter Sunday to get a table so you can be part of the urban cool scene, rather than the awkward one holding your cocktail while tyring not to be jostled every time someone wants to move.”

Napa Restaurant, Chiswick & Brentford (Restaurant / Hotel)
“An elegant dining experience in Richmond, great art deco interior and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. An outdoor terrace with potted plants shields the view of the main road outside and the hotel bar looks like a lively place for post dinner drinks if the mood takes you.”
