The Noble 29 Crouch Hill, Stroud Green, Crouch Hill, London, N4 4AP (Map)

Not sure what the reviewer's complaint is - this is a great bar and a really welcome addition to Finsbury Park / Stroud Green. Really good music, reasonable food, great atmosphere. The kind of pub you... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

The Noble

The Larrik Inn, Putney (Bar)
“She's a quality contemporary boozing space, offering a range of over priced ales, and if you're hungry, you can sign up for the food lottery. Ordering a plate of bangers, mash in beef Jus, may well result in the deliverance of an Avocado and Cesar salad. Talking of surprises, that leads me to the screening of the footy. You never know what you'll get. In summary, over priced and jumped up tucker, and the long standing award for being the only pub in London that literally couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.”

The Cuckoo Club, Mayfair (Bar / Club)
“When Christian Slater is not flying one over the cuckoo’s nest, a la Nicholson, he waltzes into 5000 square feet of delectable dissipation at Cuckoo’s, attuning his eardrums to the rock hybrids blasting majestically out of speakers with sonic delights such as The Libertines and Kasabian spun together with sprinkles of The Rolling Stones. Seduced further by resident Dom T's smooth vibes, guests can head up from subterranean bliss to the ground floor restaurant only to savour head chef Andy Glover's concoctions such as Beef Celeriac Dauphinoise or Chocolate Vinsanto Fondant. Delightfully teasing the tongue, and not the wallet, Bar Manager Mark Fairweather and menu guru Jussi Willehard Kalmi make sure to engender mouth froth with ultimate thirst-quenchers such as “The Roadrunner”- a splash of Tequila, vanilla pods, Canadian maple syrup and free range egg white or the “Purple Lady”-a mélange of Tanqueray gin, Martini rose vermouth and orange bitters. If purple ladies don’t tickle your fancy then maybe ladies such as Jemma Kidd, Elle McPherson and Alice Temperley would as they diplomatically engage in their ambassadorial roles as high representatives of a salubrious membership committee. Jump into the fray iconoclasts such as Bryan Ferry, Patrick Cox, Freddy Windsor and Joseph Fiennes and the corps diplomatique is ready! Interior décor firm BlackSheep scintillates mirrors, ebony stands, purple armchairs glittering under dazzling LED ceilings with violet lights. Come”

“Tiger Tiger has had a refurbishment and I think it looks great. I go there quite a bit with work colleagues and think the restaraunt is lovely and the menu is not too expensive either. They've extended the Happy Hour so it's fab for after work drinks. I fully recommend.”

Madden's, Finchley (Bar)
“A great pub. Loads of choice and very reasonable prices. Live music, shows the sport on plasma screens, and friendly bar staff. The back area is a gem with all the big leather sofas. Highly recommend.”

The Pig and Whistle, Barnes & Sheen (Bar)
“Avoid unless you like fighting. Unusual for this gentrified area is this awful boozer, which would be more suited to a rough council estate. I lived opposite here for a year and the number of times I had to call the police due to people kicking the living daylights out of each other beggars belief. In every other way it is unremarkable. Cheap, 2-for-1 meals, any football shown on multiple large screens, no decent beer (just fighting lager) and a cold welcome. The worst pub I have been in (and I lived in Hull for a year).”

The Exhibit, Balham (Bar / Restaurant)
“Have just moved into the area and had a great dinner last Thursday at the Exhibit with friends. The place was buzzing and the food fantastic. I had the Red Mullet which was incredible. The last time I had had Red Mullet was in Barbados and it was caught about an hour beforehand. Last Thursday nights was better. My friend had the 8oz Steak which he said was excellent! Everything seemed very fresh and came out from the kitchen in good time. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. After dinner we moved into the cocktail lounge and had some very good cocktails at the bar. We ended up staying until the place closed. Really great restaurant! I have been to BKB across the street as well and there is no comparison, The Exhibit wins hands down. Plus, BKB is about twice the price and the staff not as helpful or as friendly! Thanks Exhibit, I'll be back soon.”

“I didn't try the food, but it must really be somthing if it makes up for the lame cocktails and surly service. I had a white russian that tasted exactly like a glass of milk - when i gave up on cocktails and ordered a glass of wine the barman mixed two bottles - when the result was horrible he refused to change it!! I wont be going back.”

Fabric, Clerkenwell (Bar)
“Fabric is the best club in London. The atmosphere is amazing. There are so many different kinds of people who make you feel welcome. The music is out of this world and Fabric know how to get the best people in. I have been about 20 times and each time is better than the last time. I love it.”
