The staff are not too fast and not very nice, i waited 20 minutes for a drink and then the blond girl behind the bar was rude to me, never again, the place would be cool but need some new, livey bar staff. More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“Tried to go there at 10.30 last night to get a cocktail and was told it was closed even though there were people in there. Not impressed by guy behind bar been there before and the cocktails are good but quite frankly there are loads of good places in Richmond and wont be going back anytime soon.”

Moomba Kitchen & Bar, Putney (Bar / Restaurant)
“As a recent newcomer to Putney I have done a tour of the local bars and restaurants in the last few weeks and I have to say that Moomba is my favourite. The place is exceptionally friendly and it is starting to become a home from home for me! The look of the place is extremely attractive and everything from the deocr to the menu looks well thought-out. The food itself is a great mix of gastro brassierie dishes and some old favourites (great fish&chips, burgers etc). It's also a pleasant place for a quick after work drink. Great Stuff!”

The Castle, Angel & Islington (Bar / Restaurant)
“Oh dear - won't be returning... After a quick round, my good lady went to the bar for a few drinks, including a Pimms & Lemonade. The barman poured a single measure (when in fact it should be a double - ask a decent bartender or landlord). My lady pointed out that this was normally a double, the barman replied that he wasn't about to change it now, because he'd already rung it up (or something). So my good lady said that she wasn't going to have that drink, at which point the barman (having already poured us a guinness) said, "I'm not going to serve you anymore". Oh dear - to make a cock-up and then be so bad-mannered? Shame on you, Castle management. We left the remains of our drinks and walked back down to the Red Lion, where the young lady poured Pimms as a double...”

The Raynes Park Tavern, Wimbledon (Bar)
“The raynes park tavern is a warm family pub. It has a friendly atmosphere welcoming every one under the age of 21 up until 7pm. The staff are warm and friendly and the pub provides good food all year round. With a fantastic 2 for £8 menu 4 days a week.”

Baroque, Ealing (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“I found the experience of dining at the Kiwi Kitchen embarassing, although the food was extremely tasty, I had the venison and I have to say I have had bigger entrees than the main served to me. I have dined in many restaurants in London, and found the service a joke. As a New Zealander I pride myself on our friendly nation. This was not evident at the Kiwi Kitchen! I can not believe that there are no NZ beers on the drinks menu and the entire restaurant feels pokey and cramped. What was meant to be an enjoyable evening, turned out to be a disappointment. The menu was very limited. ”

“Exellent place!! the music is fantastic - love the setting. Been there several times. Little proble with the service, i had a tab and a waiter refused to serve and said to go to the bar, until i said i had a tab. Than she was extremely friendly, and served us. Which i think is bull' if service is given to those who have money only. Other than that, i recommend it - make sure you just got paid and have a Visa, mastercard or Maestro and have a tab, to receive class A customer service.”

The Gable, City of London (Bar)
“The Gable is definitely up there with other top city bars - great fresh food (particularly loving the platters of nibbles). The wine selection is fabulous, but definitely the best thing about the Gable is the service. Marisa, Remi and the team make all customers feel welcome and valued. They are friendly, efficient and professional. p.s. Remi makes the best mojitos and many say he resembles Bradd Pitt - get down there ladies!”

“This has got to be one of the BEST bars me and my friends have ever visited in London. The atmosphere was superb!! Nice to see a gay bar that welcomes all sorts of people from the sexual spectrum. Bar staff were welcoming, prices weren't too bad for Soho, music was quite good also. Even Posh Spice paid a visit!! At least i think it was her!! I think Soho needs a bar that caters for bisexual couples, maybe this is the one??? all in all a great night out, well worth a visit just please try and get a late licennce XXX”

Picture of The Retro Bar, West End, London

The Retro Bar, West End (Bar)
“Hello retro bar. I was 65 today on the 28th May, and I thought I would visit the Retro bar with a younger friend (37). Sadley, the Bar lady, Wendy Lestoy, decided that because I had a drink earlier in the day, I was not eligible for another drink in the Retro Bar, even though I was perfectly well behaved and with my friend. It is quite apparent to me and also to my friends; that this was blatently, a demonstration of overtly ageist discrimination. And can only say, that if, this bar does not want people of my age drinking there, it would be more honest and less hurtful, if they made that clear from the door, with a sign, saying that this bar is only for people under the age of 40 perhaps? I certainly would not set foot in such a place, if I had known that I would have been treated by the staff there, in such a disgusting way. Maurice Hoadley. Sunday 28/05/2006”

Picture of Green Man - Youngs, Putney, London

Green Man - Youngs, Putney (Bar / Restaurant)
“The Green Man has recently changed hands - unfortunately for the worse. The new landlady appears reasonably on the ball but her husband got into the gene pool while the lifeguard wasn't looking - frankly, this man would be out of his depth in a car park puddle (as indeed would some of the bar staff). While it may be easy to ignore the odd jarring note, it seems difficult to ignore the rapid decline of the food, the doing away with a promising line up of local musical talent twice a week and a pub quiz that makes counting sheep seem like a dangerous sport. This is lowest common denominator pub running at its nadir.”

Picture of The Phene, Chelsea, London

The Phene, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“With any luck someone with some common sence will take this place over and restore it to its former glory. All they have to do is call it 'boho chic' and and fool everyone into thinking its 'retro' and 'old school'. They ignored the old phrase "If it ain't broke don't fix it" and look what happened. A testiment to the unpopular nature of the refit was that it only took a couple of years after the bland refurb for it to shut. Heres hoping luxuary flats aren't on their way to replace this once great old pub.”
