You either love or hate it. You wouldn't think so but the old guys there actually have an attitude problem. People will assume you are a rent boy if you are under 40 years old! Good music in the basement... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

The Larrik Inn, Putney (Bar)
“I Visited the Larrik for food and a few drinks last Saturday night, The garden area was brimming with people all having a great laugh. We ordered food, I had the chefs special Chicken and Leek Risotto, and my partner had Tomato Mozzarella and Avocado Salad, The food arrived Quickly and was fresh and delicious. It waas very warm in the bar but a good atmosphere all the same. There were large groups of people arriving all the time during our stay, the music was a great mix, very enjoyable. Definitely worth Eating here and a few Drinks on a Saturday night.”

Firezza, Clapham (Restaurant)
“At 20:18hrs I called to place an order for delivery - a 1/2 metre pizza (1/4 Firezza, 1/4 Piccante), a garlic bread with mozarella and a mozzarella & tomato salad. I was told that the order would take 40-45 minutes which I accepted. 55 minutes later, nothing had arrived, so my husband called and was told that our order had just left the shop and would be with us in five minutes. Fifteen minutes later we called again - to be told that our order hadn't been cooked and they would send it now - no apology and we had to push to be offered a discount. Eventually, after much confusion because the shop staff do not speak English, we were offered half price which we accepted. Our order eventually arrived at 21.35 - a full 1 hour and 17 minutes after the order, and following two phone calls to chase. Already irate, and by this time starving, we were very disappointed to then discover that our pizza was cold, soggy, disgustingly salty and very chewy - not remotely fresh. To make matters worse the pizza was badly burnt at the edges and nobody had even bothered to slice it. In addition, the salad we received was some half hearted concoction with a few leaves and some tinned anchovies - very poor, inedible and not what we ordered. Our garlic bread with mozzarella never materialised.”

The Tommyfield, Vauxhall & Oval (Bar / Restaurant)
“The interior of The White Hart is very rustic, with wooden floors and leather couches, and there was a good buzz of people even though it was a week night. Everything on the menu sounded good and mouth watering, but we went for the liver and mushroom bruschetta and smoked trout with lemon and fennel for starter and for mains seabass wrapped in parma ham with potatoes and the Black Welsh beef fillet with grilled mushroom. The service was incredibly quick and the waiter was very friendly and up for a chat, nice for a change. The wine list had a good choice of red, white and rose and the price very affordable.”

“Fantastic pub. Escaping to the beer garden in the hot weather is a great way to while away an afternoon. The 'no children' rule was also welcomed by many of my 20-something friends.”

The Plough Inn, Ealing (Bar)
“The Plough has a small play area for children, mostly suitable for younger children. The seated area in the garden is pleasantly shaded so that you don't have to bake yourself to death on a hot summer's day. The food at the Plough is always good. The menu is varied by a long list of specials and the roasts are good value on a weekend. The wine lists are nothing special but then again, the prices aren't either! All in all, the wine is decent.”
