The Knaypa 268 King Street, Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith, London, W6 0SP (Map)

We went for dinner on 10/3/08 and had a fantastic time - Great atmosphere, not too noisy and the chips are to die for! We have been there before and will definitely go back, I would highly recommend Knaypa... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“Certainly a unique dining experience. Service was very good and the wine list reasonable priced. Menu was varied with an eclectic mix of Polish and other European cuisines. We ate here on a Saturday lunch time. The restaurant was virtually full but the service was still attentive. Overall very impressed - likely to visit again.”

“Food reasonable but don't go for Sunday lunch if you don't care for "luvvies" or their unruly kids.”

“The Royal Oak has been refurbished and is more straight than gay now. It still as a trendy vibe but is more 'Shoreditch' than anything. Still good for a drink and nice food though.”

“One of the most gluttonous repulsive places I have ever been. You walk into the smell of meat, nothing else, and that's exactly what you get. You look around at the clientele of overweight unhealthy looking men and you begin to realise where you are. The type of crowd you might find in Fatty Arbuckles. The basic premise of the place is you can eat as much meat as you like. Guys keep coming every few minutes with skewers of chicken kidneys, pork, and beef until you basically can't eat anymore. The quality is low of course, like any eat as much as you like type place. So if you like eating probably 50 animals in a go while surrounded by people with grease running down their chins this is the place for you, otherwise steer well clear.”

“This is a great place for a take away, great quality in good flavours. I would recomend this place to any one looking for a bang up ruby. The server on the phone was friendly and the man who delivered even more so!”

“Visited The Red Rooms a few Saturdays ago and had a good night so I thought I'd check out the Friday. Turned out they had a High St. Honey model hosting a table that night which made for a great party. The crowd was really relaxed with a party first attitude. Got chatting to a few promoters on the night and will definately be down again soon!”

The North Star, Ealing (Bar)
“Nice enough pub, with a decent outside seating area in the summer and good locals. The downside is the complete lack of barstaff which means you should expect to wait 10-15 mins to get served. When you do finally get served it's as if they are doing you a favour by pouring you a drink. So a bit like a lot of central London bars. If you don't like waiting ages to be served, try The Lodge or O'Neills.”

Nobu Berkeley Street, Mayfair (Bar / Restaurant)
“We drove and were happy to see a parking space just outside Nobu which I quickly pulled into. That's where it started to go wrong. Two bouncers blocked my path aggressively and instructed me to find another space. Meekly I did so. When they realised I was a customer they apologised and promised free drinks (which never arrived). Food was good, but the service was lacking and not what one would expect. There was a hair on my dessert which the waiting staff claimed came from the kitchen. I am convinced they returned the same dessert to me minus the hair and so I felt unable to eat it..... Whilst I have to say the main course was great and the place itself had a nice buzz, the experience with the door staff and the hair on my dessert means i will not be a repeat customer.”

“I don't think I've ever endured worse service. Our group was kept waiting for a table for 45 minutes despite having booked, only for the 3 of us to be squashed onto a table for 2 without either explanation or apology. It was then a further 30 before we were served the wrong starters ... 4 times!!! The wine was corked (not their fault but the manager kept on repeating that it wasn't her fault which didn't endear me to her) and the service itself was chaotic and surly. At the end of the evening, after much protestation we weren't charged for the meal but only after I made a monumental fuss. Don't go there!”

“Esca is full. Cakes, food indulgient and healthy, large and small portions, no pretence yet extravagance. The cutomers are interesting you don't know if you're sitting next to a celeb, a philosopher or? I love it. Fab deiveries.”

“Avoid if you can. If you can't, just look at the glass over the kitchen, the dog doo in the beer garden, the filth outside and imagine how clean the kitchen must be if the areas you can see are this bad. Add to this the bad service and high-ish prices and you too will probably go to the Cutty Sark pub on the other side of the Naval College.”

The Temperance, Marylebone (Bar)
“Just read the review previous to mine. Couldn't believe my eyes and even had to check street map to see if there were two pubs called The Temperance in Marylebone. I went for food & drinks after work with a couple of friends and had a really enjoyable expierience... I too ordered the Fish and might I say it was not only delicious but huge. My friends opted for the Bar Tapas which had a vast menu to choose from. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful at helping my friends choose which tapas dishes to go for, all in all I really liked this place, great decor, good pub grub, friendly staff needless to say I will definetly be returning.”

“I loved having a few pints at the Queen's Arms. The place was quite comfortable and the staff very welcoming. Next time I'll have to try the real ale based on the other reviews. The food was quite good, and since it was nice weather when I was there, we sat outside and admired the car showroom surrounded by college students. All in all its become my favorite spot in London for a quiet and relaxing drink.”

“Went here with my father for Sunday brunch prior to a gallery visit and were pleasantly surprised. I had eggs benedict which were fantastic and my dad had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs - one of his all time favourites and he loved it. Congratulations to Christophers as my dad is very difficult to please where his food is concerned and you did it!!”
