“belated treat for Valentines day, no doubt the refurb is very classy, however, i feel the ponced up decor and waiter service did not hide the fact that the food was not worth the high prices being charged. I had the duck which was tasteless, the soup of the day ran out by 8pm, and my husbands choice of desert was also not available. It is very unclear of how you actually get into the building and we saw several people trying to get in the wrong doors! The singer was not very goood either, he was very loud and at times out of tune. Overall i would not pass other restaurants in the area which are much more reasonably priced to go back to the Brickyard.”

“This new basement bar in Fitzrovia is quite the little find. A sneaky little secret. For now. Excellent cocktails delivered with the kind of style and panache that make any man feel inadequate (girls swoon along the full length of the bar). Great tunes, quirk decor, vibrant vibe, and the staff are all well versed in customer service.”

“I took my wife to Dego' for her birthday. It was our first time there. We had a great experience there and were not disappointed in anyway. The restaurant has a very romantic atmosphere. The waitres were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was wonderful. My wife a eel ravioli which in her words was spectacular. I tried some and agree. Absolutely delicious fish. I had a traditional dish from Vicenza region, home made "bigoli" with duck sauce,it was also beautiful. Definitely the best pasta dishes I have ever had. We shared a dessert plate, a chocolate meringue, which came out on "pyramid" chocolate shape and ginger sauce. One of the best desserts of our lives, we both agreed. It is not cheap but it is not overpriced either, and it is worth every cent. In summary,Dego'is excellent and definitely one of my three best restaurant experiences. Try it and you won't be disappointed.”

“I have eaten at the brickyard several times, both on the weekend evenings and also on the great value sunday lunch deal. I have always found the staff great and the food excellent. The food is pricey, but my motto is you get what you pay for...! The place is always busy at weekends which is a testement to its popularity...I can't wait for my next trip down there!!”

“I recently held my birthday party at Adventure Bar in Clapham and it was absolutely amazing!! To start with the staff were brilliant! So friendly and willing to help and constantly checked I was having a good night. They spoke to all my guests and were really REALLY lovely. On my reserved area there were party hats and poppers and those special touches which made everything seem a little more lovely!! Now for the cocktails... AH-MAY-ZING! The bar staff really know what they are making and the speed of service is fab. Cocktails were so yummy and even if you don't know what you want the staff can help you pick something according to your own tastes. They are average prices, ppretty standard for London, but worth it! The music was ace... all of the classics (not really chart). A little cheesey but anything that can get you up and dancing and singing your heart out. All my guests gave really good feedback to me and I would definitely go again.”

“My husband took me for a surprise anniversary dinner to Sitaaray restaurant. That was the first time I had visited the restaurant and I absolutely loved it.The staff is so generous and made me feel special. Am not a big fan of Indian food and especially curries, but this dinner changed my opinion, i liked the kebabs a lot... That was just a perfect anniversary gift I could get.”

Book a table at Tamada, Maida Vale & St Johns Wood now - fast, free and confirmed!

Tamada, Maida Vale & St Johns Wood (Restaurant)
“I visited Tamada last Saturday and hence I also received a call from them (like other reviewers) around 6pm which I was not able to answer. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice lady who turned out to be the owner. I told her that unfortunately we would be three people less as some of our friends could not make it that night. She told me that she was trying to contact me to confirm an exact number of guests as they were heavily booked. I apologised for not answering her call particularly when I knew that we would be only five and not eight. She told me not to worry and enjoy our time. This made me feel really guilty as there was no way of rearranging tables (it was very hectic there) and since our table was for eight people three places were wasted. Anyway to make a long story short we had an amazing time. Everything is very filling, but so tasty that I could not stop eating. We shared almost everything on a starters’ menu but had individual main courses. I won’t start stating the obvious – that Kachapuri, beans with walnuts or Kinkali were very good. You just have to experience that yourself. I managed to have a bite of Jarkoe - Tamada Special - and I must say it was very good indeed. We had a semi-sweet wine Kindzmarauli which was heavenly. My friends also tried Chaca, Geoegian vodka, tastes like grappa but it is much stronger. The service was pretty good considering that the restaurant was packed both upstairs and in the basement area. I think that the waiting staff and a supervisor, a rather young chap, had everything under control. We paid £42 per head (without tips) and we had lots of wine and vodka not to mention the food. If you want to try something very different and very tasty you must go to Tamada. Don’t forget to make a reservation particularly if it is a week end. Highly recommended.”

“Wow, what a transformation! If you ever went to The Langley, make sure you go along to this new bar. It looks SO much better. Quirky, adventurous and full of loads of little idiosyncrasies. No two visits will ever be the same, I'll bet. Looking forward to the next one already.”

“Wicked venue! Annoyed it took me so long to go, people have talked to me about this club for a long time. Only downside is the trek to get there, 15 mins walk from kings cross, but it does mean you end up staying longer and the vibe in the early hours is still buzzin!”

Adulis, Vauxhall & Oval (Bar / Restaurant)
“I'm actually totally mindblown - as to just how unbelievably bad an experience we've just had. at Adulis. We waited an hour & a quarter just for the starter, then when the main finally came, it looked really amazing (we had ordered a vegetarian combo platter for 2). It was a big dish of injera, with at least 8 or 9 different dishes on it, possibly as many as 10. The first one i tried was tasty enough, but it seemed strange that it was only just luke warm. I tried the other dishes 1 by 1 - luke warm was the best it got - & that was only for 1 other dish. All the others were abolsutely stone cold. And I mean like straight out of the fridge stone cold. They were all tasty enough, but it just didn't seem right. We have eaten at ethiopian restaurants several times, & it seemed to be much the same type of food, but the dishes were always hot previously. We called the guy over & asked if they were supposed to be cold, & he said no, apart from 1 of them, they should all be hot. He took the plate away, & came back another 15 minutes later, with the very same plate, with the very same injera & the very same half eaten scoops of food on it. The injera, that had previously been just about at room temperature, was now completely cold. The actual dishes themselves were still only luke warm. It seemed that they had been microwaved halfheartedly 1 by 1, & that by the time they had finished, most of them were cold again. I think that as a minimum, they could have put it on fresh, warm injera, & properly heated the food through, & preferably given us fresh scoops of all the various dishes. Basically, I walked out in disgust. And instead of being apologetic, the guy started getting shirty with me. Maybe this is not how they usually are. I really feel compelled to say something now, as this is quite possibly the worst meal out I have ever had. And it's Valentine's night as well!”
