Went to Circus last weekend to check out all the Hype... And have decided it is definitely worthy of it. Not only did I have a great meal but we got dancers and trapeze acts the lot it was fantastic. We... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“Went to Circus at the weekend. Loved the attentive staff right from the moment of stepping over the threshold. Loved the venue. Thought the menu was a nice refreshing change. I had the langoustine which were delicious, and the schnitzl for main which was really disappointing. Burnt in some places and soggy in others it just wasn't cooked very well. The floor show, which is obviously the main attraction for people to go here was also a bit lack lustre. Good when it happened but 3 short 5 minutes performances in nearly 3 hours in being there is scant to say the least. Felt a bit like we were being encouraged to stay longer and spend more money in the hope that there would be more entertainment. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. Sorry.”

“If you like football and ale, then downstairs is a fairly decent place to hang out (food's not too shabby either). The real draw here though is the theatre upstairs. True immerse theatre in a small environment. Much more value for money that any West End pieces. And it's only a bus ride home (or to Clapham Junction - worth the trek). Great plays, cheap drinks and loads of really nice, culturally interesting, beautiful young ladies (the Irish redhead with the glasses, especially. She was a stunner!)”

“The review above is dead right. It's more a restaurant than a pub. The food here is amazing and easily puts anything in the West End to shame. It might seems expensive when you look at the menu (which is HUGE) but then you are buying into high class. Beautifully decorated too. Only a 30 seconds from Holland park station so no excuse for not giving it a go.”

“A true hidden gem of a pub. It's like a old maze in there. Especially on a Friday night after work. Loads of nooks and crannies and open fire greatness. Plus, even though it's mega busy, you get served very quickly (staff are great). Would like to go back on a Sunday to see the difference. Better than The White Hart round the corner, just. God selection of ales too.”

“These burger are not cheap but my goodness they are hearty! And they have a MASSIVE range so it should keep everyone happy. You have to try the Kiwi burger with beetroot and egg in it, a true New Zealand treat, especially when combined with a Mac's Gold NZ beer. These guys always have special offers on too so keep an eye open for those. Goes well with a trip to The Clapham Picturehouse up the road. The atmosphere is a bit sterile though. Makes for quick eating.”

“Always a pleasure to visit this restaurant out of the many times, the taste is different to your normal east end restaurant and that is therefore the reason in which i credit this establishment, the chicken tikka masala always hits the spot on the taste buds”

“Just had a terrible experience in the Bridge. It's a lovely space but the service was appalling. First the manager didn't show us to our table; just waved in the general direction of where he wanted us to sit. After waiting for 45 minutes following ordering my partner asked for an update on when our food was coming. After ten minutes no one had bothered coming to speak to us; so I enquired again. Finally we were told our waitress had forgotten to give our order to the chef. What annoyed us was not that the waitress had forgotten - these things do happen; it was that no one had bothered to communicate with us and we had to chase and chase them. Finally to add insult to injury we were not even offered a complimentary meal or even a complimentary drink! I have rarely encountered such poor service and it's a shame because it is a lovely pub to be inside. Very disappointed.”

“Very special place. You feel a bit like in a time hole, as the guests are somehow unique and a lot different to the usual pub audience, the place itself is SO unique that I actually started touching the green wooden wall (!) to explore its texture (yeah...akward), and last but not least, the beer: A simply unbelievably tasty IPA called St Peter's.”

“I don't know about the previous comments but this place was awesome last night! There was a live band, the energy was great, and I didn't want the night to end! The bar staff were very nice [some real eye candy there!] They even helped me when I bought a round and couldn't carry all the drinks to where my friends were. Thats service! Overall, it definatly made a good night out in Ealing.”

“This is definitely going to become my regular lunch spot when visiting Westfield. Great concept, great food and brilliant value. The highest praise was from my kids - they ate every mouthful and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful towards them. Top dishes were the malfaldine & sausage and the crispy break sticks. Be prepared that food comes as soon as ready from kitchen so dishes arrive at different times. We'll be back!”

“As a group of 5 women we had a very unpleasant evening here due to being seated next to a group of approx. 30 celebrating a birthday the noise was unbearable and ruined our evening, the manager was totally unsympathetic when we complained. Nothing wrong with the food but the booking policy needs overhauling to avoid anyone else experiencing what we suffered.”

“I will try to be brief as much as possible on my review. Quite frankly a great bar! At first glance you may think that the drinks and food are expensive, but have another look cos they have happy hour, which make really quite affordable. Cocktails are unlikely any others that you have tried a billion times in other bars and the food is equally good. I usually go on week days but tried for the first time last Saturday, was really impressed with the amount of good looking girls (sorry, it's important to me!) and the dance floor was on fire! I would prefer if I could have had a table but the place was fully booked. Will try again next time! Overall, a very charming bar and great atmosphere. Recommend!”

“Slug and lettuce is an old favourite (or should that be old faithful). Always a place where you can get a table and enjoy a cheap eat. The drinks offers are great - this is fast becoming a regular watering hole for me thanks to it's location. You should definately give it a visist.”
