“ The food was disgraceful and when this was pointed out to the staff and why no one was interested at all ! The wine was the most boring I have ever had it had no depth or taste to it whatsoever And it was £7.50 for a small glass. Just to add insult to injury just after I left today I was sick twice! Needless to say they will never ever receive my custom ever again. What makes it that little bit worse is that they have quite good reviews online which is why I went in the first place...”

“What an absolute find! We only planned to stop for one drink but ended up staying all night, the bar staff were on fire and this description is so right when it says they're the night's entertainment. The drinks are delicious and so Instagram-worthy. Will 100% be back soon”

“Went for the 4th time last night. We had the advantage of a balmy evening so were able to sit outside. Made all the better for having no traffic passing. I have given the best rating as everything was, as always, perfect.”

“It seems that people here don't know what a metal bar is. Ok. As in all London, people are very friendly and that's what I like with Brits But... I come from Paris where I use to go to REAL metal bars. Loud hard rock metal sound. Caves. metal people sharing their passion with no limit. Head banging all night long. Sore throats in the morning but fuckng good night there. Here. Just like a normal bar with nice people. Noisy. No rock music at all. Not metal at all. The worst of it. You have to pay 2 £ to enter and realise that this bar is NOT METAL AT ALL. Go to Paris or Berlin to know what Metal means folks. Love you anyway. ”

Slim Jim’s Liquor Store, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“I came to Slim Jims last week Friday and this week Friday. Myself and my wife had a great night until 3am. The music and drinks were great but some the bar manager were a bit rude (short lady with long black hairy... I think she might if been Spanish) apart from that we enjoyed ourselves and will come back again. Also, when coming into slim Jims last night I met the security head doorman and another security guy at the front door. The head doorman is a great person who made us feel welcomed and safe during the night and even when we left at 3am. Personally I have never met a head doorman like him who conduct himself in a firendly but Professional way when dealing with difficult customers or numbers of the public who were drunk walking passed the venue and I think customers don't give them enough credit or to understand what security have to deal with at a busy time at the weekend. I would be happy to offer them both jobs with better pay at my venue in Central London. Slim Jims is the best bar for rock n roll in North London. Thank you”

“Our first experience one of Gordon's venues and we left rather frustrated. A beautiful venue and lively atmosphere but the service was disappointing. Don't go there if you are in a hurry. The chunky chips are a standout!”

Wagamama, Brent Cross & Hendon (Restaurant)
“I live close to that restaurant and ordered regularly from there. But will never do it again. I love Wagamama food, but this branch makes a horrible name for it. They didn't send my order twice. Two other times got wrong order. These were my last 4orders. Yesterday I decided to give another chance for them. My mistake...never again. Ordered at 7.30pm, got my order at 8.40pm ... but only half of it! Even on the bag the missing stuff was not cutlery, no napkins. Phoned them up, he said they'll close at 9pm, so can't do much. I told him that is all the time happening with me!! And I have to deal with Deliveroo always. I told him, I won't do it now, because I'm fed up! Send my money back, take your food back, I don't care. He offered he will deal with Deliveroo. 8.55pm he called me back, he said they will send me my order again. Arrived after 9.30pm - who is eating by that time anyway ?! - but I don't wish that food even to my enemies what they sent! Of course instead of beef ramen I got chicken without any liquid in the bowl. Beef teriyaki soba...the noodles hasn't been fried. And I ordered kids meal which also looked disgusting. Would never give it to anyone specially to a child!! I throw everything on the bin, because this is where it belongs. And I also throw in the window 40£ again. Please do not use that restaurant!!”

“Not been to The Ship since I was a little girl and had to sit on the step with lemonade as children weren't allowed in, that was 65yrs ago when I lived in Stephendale Road just over the other side of the bridge. I now live in Newark Nott's when we came down to London couldn't leave without a visit, although it has changed a lot I still enjoyed my visit and the food. My dad was going to buy it in the 1950's mum said you might as well you are there nearly as much as home. we raised a glass to him while we where there. Looking forward to our next visit. ”

Buddha Bar London, Knightsbridge (Restaurant)
“The price for sushi in this city is way way out of control. It really doesn’t have to be nor need to be this expensive. Buddha Bar’s prices are stratospheric for nothing special at all. A California Roll for £20 quid …like come on here. It’s one of the simplest and least eclectic rolls invented. The décor is nice, and the bartenders are super cool, one of them even does magic for his customers, and they don’t mind a complimentary drink here or there, which is quite refreshing in a city full of tight wods. Their own Buddha Bar beer bottles are a cool Buddha man shape yet the beer tastes like a Grolsch. But the extremely high food prices far out-weighs a worth-the-money dinner experience. One could say well a place like that is only for rich people, but let’s look at it from a normal rational perspective. No matter how rich someone is, does it make sense for him to pay £100 quid for a liter of fuel? …or £50 quid for a pack of cigarettes? …or £30 quid for a Big Mac you see my point? Sushi prices are now beyond the point of normal, worthy, rational …it’s at the point of ridiculousness. I recommend to go there on a full stomach and just drink at the bar sitting on a bar stool ONLY. - The Phantom Gourmet Ego”

“The food here is so sub-par, over-priced, cheap, tasteless, and small portioned that it simply is not worth it. The appetizers were so small it was a pathetic insult to serve to the customers, very disappointing. The service was bad as the usual typically rude British service, the couches were dirty and unkept …how could the kitchen in the back be any better? So the calamari rings were cut way too thin, almost like strings and they gave less than only 10 rings, yes I counted! And put on top of a salad, why put calamari on top of a bunch of greens that had no salad dressing? hmm …maybe to make the dish look bigger than it was? Maybe because they were too cheap to give actual calamari in their calamari dish? Next the beef brisket tacos were the smallest 3 tacos that I have ever seen, It was like ridiculously too small, I wish that I had put a 50 pence coin next to these tacos and took a pic. Both of these appetizers were worth less than half of their menu charged price really, we were thoroughly disappointed. Still hungry ofcourse I ordered a hamburger. The bun was hard and stale, the meat was ground chuck and ground up in a course fashion so you get that non-crushed bone fragment chunk on your teeth when biting down while chewing. It was certainly not a fine ground beef like a Great American Hamburger. The cheese wasn’t even melted on top of the patty so the cook didn’t put the cheese on the beef patty while it was still on the grill. And the cheese was a very cheap cheddar Asda version slice that had zero taste to it, besides tasting like plastic. The burger was overcooked to a well-down after I had specifically asked the bartender taking my order to put down a medium-rare cook on the ticket and I even went to the cook myself which he said he would oblige no worries. It once was a good pub back in 2015, but it has changed ownership 4 times in the last 2 years and I think I know the reason(s) why. The service is terrible, the food is even more terrible, the menu changes constantly, a new “cook” NOT chef is hired every 2 months, there is zero consistencies in management, service, food quality and standards, and it is in a poor location with nothing else around, and now it’s in the toilet! This pub is absolutely terrible, and I will never recommend anyone to order anything from it’s menu besides a pint of beer which you would hope that they can’t screw that one up too. Anything more you are threading at your own peril. Bon Appétit - The Phantom Gourmet Ego ”
