Curry Place 36 Queensway, Bayswater, London, W2 3RX (Map)

Was in town and went to eat at the Curry palace, where they have a great outside space if you want to smoke and they also serve shisha which seems great. The red awning outside with the logo very well... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“So bad! If you're like me and fancy a little sing song to Girls Aloud/Sugarbabes something a little cheesy and fun - do not go here!!!! This place is shocking the song list is the worst i have seen in my life, you have to pay £4 entry, the drinks are overpriced and the bar staff in my opinion are useless! I know there is no such thing as a good karaoke bar (as my boyfriend keeps telling me!) but i don't see why not? It can be fun but not here it is skanky, old fashioned and definitely not worth a visit.”

“The new BBB is simply Fabulous!! The restaurant is stunning and so stylish, just like Notting Hill but 10 times the size and very cosmo. The downstairs bar is breathtakingly seductive with sumptuous seating and a red glow all round, this will be the new place to be in Shoreditch for quite some time I'm sure, and I will back next weekend for more!”

The Triangle Bar & Restaurant, Finsbury Park (Bar / Restaurant)
“The triangle ££££ Formerly WXD and resembling a crap art gallery, this place has been given a new lease of life by Morroccan chef, Aziz. I used to go to Banners for the slightly bohemian Crouch End vibe, but this place is better and the staff are friendly, helpful and QUICK ! Daytimes it's a sleepy, quiet cafe - great for meetings and newspaper dozing - love that scrambled eggs and salmon in a small toasted baguette with rocket salad. Evenings it becomes a moody hangout with hundreds of candles, a real fire and very classy ambient ethnic dance music. Settling into one of the huge leather settees makes it quite possible to lose all track of time and space - especially when Aziz has one of his impromptu lock-ins. There's also live music on Sunday evenings which often turn into spontaneous collaborations with some of the well known musicians and actors which have adopted this place in the last year. Neil Morrissey loves it (not sure if that is a compliment or not). Anyway - I'm hooked - can't stay away which is burning a bit of a hole in my wallet, although I'm willing to pay up for a place this good. I've met so many interesting people there and it's given a much needed sense of community for young adults this side of the broadway. Fantastic. seb”

Picture of The Goat, Clapham, London

The Goat, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant)
“The Goat has managed to set itself apart from the rest of the standard pubs located along Northcote Road. It has a rather eclectic interior design fashion, but nothing too over the top. The bar was not overly busy when we arrived, the service was good albeit rather slow. There was also the issue of the over zealous glass/plate collector who seemed intent on taking half empty bottles of wine away! The food was hearty and there was a good menu even catering for the veggies amongst us. A good place to chill out on a sunday and while away the Sunday fear with a nice bottle of red or two! ”

Bombay Spice, Marylebone (Restaurant)
“Sadly disappointed on our very first visit to this restaurant. Having ordered a vodka and tonic and a bottle of mineral water, we were charged a whopping £12.80 for drinks. Querying it, we were told that we had been brought 2 large vodkas, a mineral water and a tonic. We explained that that was not the case and, anyway, that wasn't what we asked for (my friend was driving so certainly didn't want, or get any alcohol), but were met only with downright rudeness. It's so lovely to see that this restaurant has revised the adage to "the customer is always wrong". We shan't be going back!”

Christopher's, West End (Bar / Restaurant)
“Christopher's is just beautiful inside, from the understated trendiness of the bar, up the candle-lit winding staircase and into the elegant dining room. The great decor and friendly service is matched by simple but quality dishes. We had the pre-theatre menu which is good value for money with 2 courses for about £15. I had salmon fishcakes with creamed potatoes and it was delicious and filling, followed by a superb baked cheesecake. The cocktails are also delicious and the wine list offers some very good bottles. I've dined here twice now and will definitely be returning!”

Mimouza Moroccan Restaurant, Shepherds Bush (Bar / Restaurant)
“Went there for a friend's birthday, general impression, very poor. The place was not busy at all, yet we had to wait for a good hour before the order was taken, then almost another hour to get the food, the waiter got the order all mixed up, and he was so rude and kept shouting whenever he brings a dish, It was madness. The food was ok, been to Morroco last year so this restaurant is way below the standard of the food i tasted in Morocco. Then the bill came, and we were stunned, but didn't really say anything as it will not be practical to go through an order for a table of 20peeps. So everyone ended up paying almost double the amount expected. Will I ever go back to this restaurant .... simply NO”

Edwards, Wimbledon (Bar)
“Edwards has a great layout once inside, and unlike most older reports of it being chavy, since the new manager has been there for about half a year so far its transformed into a place with a less common grade of customers. There are great djs who play top music on thursdays fridays and saturdays, and a fantastic two man acoustic band who are perfect for chilling out to on a sunday evening. They even take requests!!”

Barrio Angel, Angel & Islington (Bar / Club)
“I recently had my birthday at Barrio North and hired their caravan. No less than a real life caravan down the end of their bar where I crammed most of my mates and we drank buckets of mojitos. The place was heaving, the atmosphere really friendly and the DJ's Brazillian hip hop got everyone salsa-ing. Me and my mates had such a wicked boozy night - something a little different in Angel finally. I really recommend it.”
