Los Locos 24-26 Russell Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2B 5HF (Map)

My wife and I recently paid a visit to Los Locos and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service provided was warm and friendly. We were made to feel welcome. The atmosphere was lively as it was quite busy.... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“We have been going here for a few years now and to be honest I have never been to another pub where the staff have been so friendly, efficient, welcoming and accommodating. Caroline and Rosie the landlords are the most perfect hosts and food is always top notch. The bar is decorated very tastefully and would fit in perfectly in the most exclusive parts of Central London but lucky for us it is just round the corner in Canons Park. Need I say more?”

“I found this a great place to find out my sexuality. I have never felt so relaxed and comfortable around people of my own kind (gay). I would advise anyone who isn’t sure if they bat for the other team or not, to go on down there and have great time with a great bunch of guys. 10 out of 10 (due to the fact I got lucky that night). RS Lounge, Woodford & Chingford (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Old regulars of The Rising Sun, where expecting RS Lounge to reflect the old haunt, but with its clinical atmosphere, most of the old regulars are feeling frozen out. The interior is beautiful, with the multicoloured light changing ceiling, and the decked out gardens with canopies are equally as nice, however, RS Lounge has become slightly above its station - not forgetting we are in Walthamstow here! The heavy electro beats become rather monotonous after an hour, as it sounds like the same song has been playing for the entire night! The Rising Sun's music catered for everyones tastes. West End priced drinks, and a £10 entrance fee after 9pm (£5 before) is a big turn off, especially when you can head to nearby South Woodford or Chingford and get into any bar free! All in all, a nice place to go to once in a while, but not somewhere you'd want to go too often. I think the owners have spent so much money doing the place up, they're trying to claw back every penny in the drink and entrance prices. Its a shame they didn't do more market research on the area, and what the people wanted.”

“I love this pub, I've always loved this pub. It can take a while to get served though but only when it's really heaving at the seams. The staff are good and cool without being pretentious. And there may be other pubs in Clapham, but nowhere beats the Falcon garden in the summer.”

“Very disappointing evening at Beach Blanket. The food is over priced for the standard and portion. The staff are ok but not knowledgeable about products. Cocktails too sugary and diluted. Not very busy but took ages to be served. Lacking in style and substance. Give it a miss unless you are very patient and don't have high standards and like to mingle with out of towners that have taken British Rail into Liverpool Street.”

“Just had lunch here and it was fabulous! The prawn soup was full of flavour, the fattoush absolutely fresh and crunchy, and the mullet escabeche was very very tasty. Being fans of a certain venue in W.6, this comes very close and we will return soon. Lovely service from an efficient gentleman who quietly coped the ever growing number of tables with good grace. We loved it! Thank you. ”

“I took some friends from abroad here for drinks, and we were not disapointed!! The basement bar was relativley empty at first, but soon filled up, and was pumping with beautiful people, cool music and a really good vibe. We managed to get a table for dinner (luckily they had 1 opening) and had some fantastic cocktails, the waitress was very pleasant, knew exactly what we wanted (I don't know too much about japanese cuisine), but her selection was amazing. My guests were really impressed, and when the bartender started sawing away at the massive block of ice the excitment levels hit the roof. I loved the place, a pity it's underground, but then again all good things are hard to find.”

“Avoid! Customer service & care is the worst I've ever experienced. I went here for the first time today with my girlfriend but was refused the intimacy of a booth because they were hoping to fill booths up with more lucrative groups so they were reserved in case any turned up. This was despite the fact that they were all empty as was the near deserted restaurant. At Tinseltown, the customer comes last, the money first...”

“This bistro is ruined by poor service and the rudeness. If you search the net, you will find numerous reviews from customers at this bistro who have had terrible experiences, bad service and been abused because they dared complain. Definitely to be avoided.”

“I have never been so annoyed with a restaurant before. Firstly i was charged 12.5% to drink at the bar while 'waiting' for our table to be ready. It was a ploy for us to have drinks as our table was already available as we could see that there weren't many people there from the bar. The service was incredibly rude and slow. The staff looked liked they did not want to be there. We later found out that most of them have not been long as they have a huge turnover of staff. The food when it finally arrived was disgusting. All four if us could barely bring ourselves to take a second bite. All our complaints are responded by shrugs of what do you want us to do about it. It was so hot and sticky in there and the only cooling system was a standing fan and two open windows with the stench of rotting fish wafting through. The staff told us the air conditioning was out of order but one of my observant friend pointed out there aren't any ducting for air con. To make matters worse, another friend told me the chef is Rex from Big Brother. I cannot bear this arrogant bully and i really felt like throwing up after that information. The clientele here has no class and are real wannabes. Will tell all my friends to avoid Beach Blanket Babylon.”

“Beware! After reading all these great reviews I was really looking forward to checking out this pub that sounded unique, cosy and full of character. I took my friends there on a sunny Sunday afternoon ready to relax in one of Londons 'top beer gardens' and just had to laugh at how wrong you can get it! Do people mean dog friendly as in it just Reeks of dogs!? Although there wasn't a dog (or person for that matter) in sight... By the way my family have always had dogs but it doesn't mean the house always stinks. The 'garden' is small, concrete, closed in, contains 2 stools, and basically feels like a prison! The staff were fine, far from super friendly but that doesn't bother me too much if there's a good atmosphere. There wasn't, it was dead. I live in the East End and have seen my fair share of shabby pubs and this one definately comes under the 'alternative' (smelly!) type. Putting it in a 'top beer garden' list is a complete and utter JOKE! If you're looking for a decent outdoor space try Duke of Edinboro in Camden or The Eagle in Shoreditch.”
