La Vina (Tapas Restaurant) 3 Wightman Road, Manor House, Harringay, London, N4 1RQ (Map)

We have been coming to this restaurant for some years and have always been extremely pleased with the service and especially the food. This opinion is born out by the number of regular diners and the restaurant... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

The Feathers, Westminster (Bar)
“Popped into The Feathers on Halloween, it had a most welcome environment. It was Tardis-like in that it looks smaller on the outside, but indoors there was loads of room. The menu is fairly varied and they offer about 15 different types of sausage!! ”

Pizza Metro, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant)
“Entirely agree with previous review. The Pizza Metro truly is fantastic. The only pizzeria in South London that even notoriously fussy Italians rave about. Great wines too, and very gracious service.”

“Scruffy outside - Hidden by bus stop & scaffolding - great food, especially starters (Real King Scallops, big & fresh) - Portions perhaps a little too large. Great value - Even the wine.”

Little Italy, Soho (Bar)
“Visit here at your peril! I went on Saturday night at the recommendation of a friend. We didn't eat but were going for the bar and for a dance. The bouncers are unbelievably rude. We were physically and verbally abused by them. Bearing in mind that I was with several other females (no males in the group), they pushed us around, threatened to hit us, swore at us, made vulga insinuations and were generally a good representative to many of the non UK national bouncers out there. Little Italy should be ashamed. NB once inside the place was beyond pokey with a bad atmosphere. All in all an extremely poor venue.”

St. Moritz, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“A group of 7 of us went. First impressions are that it is a quaint little village setting - very intimate. The smell of cheese was immense at the start however after being seated upstairs it was fine. I think you get used to it! We ordered different fondues however for 7 people. We had 2 bottles of house red and 2 bottles of house white. It came to £30 each. A great evening if you want to try something a little different! Staff - I must admit I did find them a little abrupt however they were ok. Wouldn't rush back to St. Moritz but wouldnt turn down an evening there with a group of pals!”

Wibbley Wobbly, Canada Water & Rotherhithe (Bar / Restaurant)
“Lovely, friendly little place with excellent food at the weekends. I had a butternut squash and chickpea stew that really stoked me up after a mornings cycling around docklands, my partner had a lovley smoked haddock chowder followed by a huge dish of apple & blackberry crumble. The floating pontoon moored on the side of the boat offers beautiful views down Greenland Dock and is a great place to while away a few hours on a sunny day. It really feels like you are out of the city until you turn around and see the huge buildings of Canary Wharf filling the skyline. Looks great lit up at night.”

“We dined at the blueprint on the 2nd nov 07 and were pleased to find that the bad reviews were way off the mark and i guess could only have been placed by a rival restaurateur. The food and service was excellent and a choice of menus to suit your budget, allowing you to have a 2 course meal with a drink, over looking tower bridge, from little as £15 a head. I will be going back.”

“Very Romantic - Have been twice - Great atmosphere when busy - food outstanding an great value - You need to ask about the offers as they are not easy to understand. Salmon with squid ink spaghetti was superb. My boyfriend had the Scallops which were vey bog and the Beef Wellington which persuaded him to take me back next week.”

“The best-looking pub in the whole of London...but the worst customer service you could possibly imagine. You will be waiting at least 30 minutes to be served and, even when you get there, you'll be met with the rudest and most incompetent staff ever. The fish and chips are great - if you get them. Food orders invariably take over an hour to be delivered and are often cold. When this place replaces the management and current staff, it could be the best pub in London.....'when' ”

“Rudest service I've ever encountered anywhere in the world. Obnoxious, self-important barstaff, overpriced drinks that appeared to be watered-down. Avoid at all costs ”

Texture Restaurant & Champagne Bar, Marylebone (Bar / Restaurant)
“We ate in Texture last night, really enjoyed the champagne bar, the service we received from start to finish was exceptional. For me the best thing about the meal was the bread so delicious I ate two bread rolls before my meal, although this seemed rather greedy I am glad I did!! The food was so beautifully presented but just tasted so strange my friend and I (and our husbands didn't really enjoy any of it), some of it so strange with quite strong flavours that we couldn't recognise but dominated everything we ate! We got the giggles and the fisherman's friend meringues just finished us off, we felt like we were taking part in our very own "emperors new clothes" experiment and for £170.00 for two we all came out still hungry!”

The Church, Brixton (Bar / Club)
“Regular Sunday Service parishioner in early 90's. Words do not do it justice. Of particular interest were the two queues to get in... one for brits and the other for the rest of the world. The brits had to wait until the rest of the world were admitted. The industrial wasteland of its Kings Cross warehouse setting made The Church a holy relic. Indeed a religious experience.”

La Porchetta, Angel & Islington (Restaurant)
“I was told La Porchetta, Stroud Green was definitely worth a visit, but not having had the chance to visit ,we stumbled across this branch yesterday evening (Fri). "Bad" is an under statement for this particular Italian eaterie. It's obvious it hasn't had any investment in either the decor or staff in a very long time. The staff looked bored and unmotivated, the atmosphere was bland and the food below average. I ordered Tagliatelle Al Salmone which is was highly salted and swimming in oil. The tomato topping on my partner's Romana pizza was tastless and didn't rate any higher than a supermarket bought pizza. If you're looking for a good italian experience, don't go here.”

“Great live jazz music. Shame the staff think their farts don't stink - the rudest bunch I've ever seen - from the obnoxious and condescending doorman, to the snotty and disinterested barstaff. Although I live just around the corner I'm never stepping back in there again.”

CellarDoor, West End (Bar / Club)
“Cool underground bar - very small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in imagination with free text jukebox, translucent loos doors that mist over when you lock them, amazing cabaret and burlesque acts every night from 9pm and table service from fallen angels (complete with wings). But above everything else the bar staff are friendly with none of the snotty attitude you get in lots of Central London bars. The cocktails are great and, although they're not the cheapest in the West End they're very reasonable - especially as there is no entrance fee even for the live acts”

“I love the Monkey. I've been going there pretty much weekly for the past 3 years and thought it was about time I gave it a big thumbs up. The cocktails are fantastic, the food is tasty and the bar staff are very friendly. I've had the occasional waitress service which has left a lot to be desired recently thats the only reason its getting 4 not 5 stars. Aside from that its been a favourite place of mine to really get the night started for ages now!”

"Décoration pas terrible à part la terrace sur la Tamise. Repas cher et sorti de table en ayant encore fin. Il y a beaucoup mieux à Hammersmith comme pub." Which venue is this?
