Lyric Tavern 37 Great Windmill Street, Soho, London, W1V 7PA (Map)

Proposed to my wife in the Lyric (I know, how romantic am I!). Lovely pub and absolutely gutted that it has closed, hope it comes back soon. More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

Lyric Tavern

Gunmakers (formerly William Wallace), Marylebone (Bar)
“A nice, proper pub. It's clean and fresh. Serves great beer and good snacks. The only thing that put me off was the guy who owns the place. He seems to get well nasty after one too many, esp towards his staff. Highly unprofessional. If u ask me, get him of there and it will probaby be a very successful pub.”

The Fez Club, Putney (Club)
“The Fez Club quite honestly is a last resort kind of place, very poor venue (small) overly priced drinks as well as a bad selection. Generaly not a great atmosphere music is too cliche, i just wish there was a better place to go in putney that offered alot more maybe some competition would make peaple relise that the Fez is sh*t!”

“This night is electric! A place where my friends and I dance till our indie hearts are content. It's very much like drugs enjoyable and totally addictive. The ladies are tasty too (the air conditioning's a good area!). Keep an eye out for me performing my shapes. ROCK!”

Blushes Cafe, Chelsea (Bar)
“I have to say blushes did not disappiont us, great food, lovely service from smart waitresses and excelant cocktails, 9 of us had a great night out, very late - the place closed at 1.30am and we weren't thrown out. We will go back. Did not ask for Tap water a bit naff £30 each plus 12.5% service.”

“I love this bar! I've spent many a night in the White Hart with work colleagues and it's always been a pleasure. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is always both lively and relaxing. A great venue for a quick pre-theatre drink or a lunch snack.”

Ruby Blue, West End (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“I went to ruby blue on a Friday night, and let you tell you the atmosphere was really live. At first the music there was a little old skool but as the night progressed the music started to get really good. The only downside of this place... and this is a warning to any girls that come here is that the barmen are creeps they really try it on! and lets face it they may seem to be all over you when you're there for that particular night but you got to remember that they work there every week.. so you can imagine how many gals they are trying to chirp and its not just you trust me! but yeh it is ok i guess been better places though.”

Horse & Groom, Belgravia (Bar)
“The Horse & Groom is a great, if small pub! More room on the first floor, and outside seating available in this quiet Belgravia back-street. Bar staff very friendly, as is Amanda, the land-lady. Food comes in (very) large portions, and offer great value. Standard pub-grub, but also check out the daily specials as they tend to offer a bit of variety from your usual sandwiches etc. I'm always impressed with their well-kept beers, with the full Sheperd-Neame range available. Not long ago they received a prize from the brewery for the excellent state of their Masterbrew. Highly recommended!”

Picture of Builder's Arms, Chelsea, London

Builder's Arms, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“The Builder's Arms defined what a modern, but still in a way traditional pub should look like. OK, you may think it's everywhere now: mixed chairs tossed about, a sofa here and there, and a bookshelf strewn with stash and the odd book. But this pub was one of the first! Food used to be very good, and it's still above average. Had a steak there some days ago, and it was good enough - but it should be at 16 quid + fries at another 2.5... Service rather slow, unfortunately. Even with the pub only half-full you could end up waiting for 20 minutes to order food. A bit of advice: buy a drink from the bar as you get in, find a table and relax with your drink while waiting for service. After all, that's what pubs are about anyway, isn't it?”

The Glasshouse, Richmond & Kew (Bar / Restaurant)
“The room and surroundings are cool modern but the food is "Fantastic". If you like lots of fresh food beautifully cooked but not too many cals then this one's for you. I could have chosen everything on the menu. The staff are friendly too. Although all ages were there, the Glasshouse seems to appeal predominantly to 30 somethings, probably bankers, the females of whom are whippet thin & all wearing linen.”

The Norfolk Arms, Kings Cross (Bar)
“We went to the Norfolk Arms for my boyfriend's sister birthday. We wanted some food and ordered some steaks. When we tried them we all looked at each other... the meat was old. The waitress changed the orders... no chef came to give an explanation. I order some fish... they told us that they just had potatoes and beans as a side. They didn't tell as that they were going to serve us the same ones with the new dish. It was ok, we wanted to have a nice time. I ordered fish... and when it came to the table it was cold... but cold as if it just came out from the fridge. I called the waitress again... and she said that there wasn't anything else to change it for. So I didn't have dinner. The rest of the people ate a bit of their food but they didn't enjoy it at all. When we finished we went to get my dish's money back and the French manager at the bar wouldn't want to give me my money back. He was really rude and started shouting at us. I wouldn't recommend The Norfolk Arms to anyone. It is nothing special as a pub, the food is terrible and the French manager is very arrogant and aggressive. If you go to any other pub around you will have a better time.”

El Rincon Quiteno, Holloway (Bar / Restaurant)
“As Ecuadorian myself, I've been eating here for the last 8 years of my life. Clean, friendly staff, good size portions & quite good variety. If El Rincon Quiteno is good enough for a native, it should also be good enough for everybody else.”

Egg London, Kings Cross (Bar / Club)
“Love Kings Cross nightlife but Egg tops it, no attitude just heavy music and an excellent crowd. Everyone's there for a good time and the terrace is a brillant place to chill!! I'll definitely be going back.”
