The place is let down by it's horrid, mean spirited staff and terrible, bland music. I visited on Saturday night with 7 friends for a friend's birthday party. Unfortunately I left feeling completely... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“Went into The Golden Oven in Soho during the royal wedding holidays, very impressed with the whole evening. The staff, were brilliant and knowledgeable also quick to check with the chef when we said we had both nut and onion allergy sufferers dining. The food was fantastic, tasted very fresh, on a whole it was a great dining experience. Will visit again when back in London. (Group from Dublin).”

“The food at the Dial Arch (when it arrives) is very good. However they need double the amount of waiting staff. We visited last night, we seated and then ignored for 15 minutes. We decided to leave the restaurant area and have drinks and bar food. We had to wait close to 2 hours for our bar food, which consisted of pizza, garlic bread and crispy Squid. The Dial Arch good be fantastic but this is the 3rd time I have been and the service has been terrible.”

“A French brasserie-cafe style restaurant in the heart of west London. Nothing new there really, but this place is embracing a modern vibe. Great natural light, high ceilings, comfy booths, free wifi, art on the walls, and a tasty little £6 deal at lunchtimes. Popular with Americans it seems.”

“I had a party on the Easter weekend. It was an evening to remember. I was excited by their offer of 3-course meal and ANY drinks unlimited for just £30/- Only thing I did not like is that i was not allowed to carry on after 1am and they took all my money before the party stared. regards shasha”

“A decent boozer with a nice range of ales. Great for watching football (or any other sport) on TV. I believe they have 3D matches sometimes too. The booths are handy. And there's quite a young crowd too since there are some universities close by.”

“A group of friends and I booked an area at Imbibe for the Royal Wedding Party. It was perfectly organised and the bar looked very festive and well dressed for the occasion. Staff were so incredibly helpful and the food and drink was fab too. An awesome time was had by all!”

“2 adults + 2 children were met by a very frazzled waiter (of which we saw only 2). Chicken Wings with Jack Daniels glaze were undiscernibly different from plain chicken wings. Bronx Potato Skins were just warm, cheese barely melted and the sour cream was so thick it came in a ball like ice cream and wasn't at all sour (or pleasant!) East Coast Calamari was enjoyed by our 9 year old. He didn't like the BBQ ribs at all (which were dry) and our 10 year old didn't like the Lasagne (which was not hot in the centre) - left both. Shoestring fries were re-cooked and overcooked and had no taste. Burger was mediocre and not cooked as requested. Husband liked his Nebraska Rib Eye Steak though. We had to ask for condiments twice and the side order of onion rings arrived after we’d finished out main courses. We decided not to bother with dessert and left. With a bill of over £100 (no alcohol) we are not impressed with either the food or the service.”

Gordon Ramsay The Savoy Grill, West End (Bar / Restaurant / Hotel)
“good evening, we today visited the savoy grill to celebrate my mother's birthday. we had a great welcome as entering your hotel and enjoyed champagne in the bar prior to going into the savoy grill. we found the staff within the grill less than accomodating, having dined in several Gordon Ramsey restaurants it became increasingly unpleasant. i ordered a dry white wine spritzer with soda and upon arrival the soda was flat i asked if this could be changed but was advised it was because i had ordered dry white wine, that soda does not remain fizzy!!!! i find that strange. we ordered our food, Mum wanted her rib eye rare to medium but was advised this was not possible it would have to be medium rare, the steak was too cooked for mum's taste, my partner asked for her liver to be medium rare but it was cooked more to well done palette.”

The Blues Kitchen, Camden (Bar)
“Three essential reasons to love this Camden bar: (1) the impressive array of bourbon (beers aren't even labelled so I wouldn't bother. Although a 'small' glass of Pinot Noir is massive; worth dabbling in); (2) top guitar-slashing music (a rockstar's heaven); unbelievably hot girls EVERYWHERE (if you like them with funky hair, tasteful tattoo, and tight jeans then this is the bar for you). The food? Meh.”

“This bar-cum-club is slightly out of the way but it's worth trekking to because it's quite the little find. I especially like the proper basement club feel downstairs with low ceilings and concrete floors. It feels like you could get up to all kinds of mischief and nobody would ever know. Maybe good for celebrities to hang out there then?”

The Big Chill House, Kings Cross (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“This bar near King's Cross has just reopened after having an update. The refurbishment is pretty cool, although I'm not seeing too much change. The outdoor roof terrace is going to be very popular in the summer months though. Bring on the sun, bring on the media and charity sectors workers who love this place!”

Sappho Meze Bar, Clapham (Restaurant)
“Excellent evening at this friendly, rough-and-ready meze bar. Don't go if you're expecting an uber-cool 'dining experience'. Do go if you want great food at tiny prices, good wine, Keo beer and a friendly owner offering excellent service.”

The Pig and Whistle, Barnes & Sheen (Bar)
“These reviews are very old we brought the pub nearly 4 years ago, it is no longer the rough youth club that it was. we have refurbished inside and out and have very nice customers, I used to run the plough which is just up the road so a lot of our customers are from there both old and young. We have also inherited a lot of the Hare and Hounds customers. If you havn't been in for a while please just come in and see how different it is i'm sure you'll be pleasently supprised. The pool table has gone we have made a lovely seating area out the back. The food is all freshly made and we buy all our meat from chubbs the local butchers.”
