Mesopotamia 115 Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, London, HA9 8HG (Map)

At long, long last a decent restaurant in Wembley. If Mesopotamia was in the West End it would be packed to the brim. We came along to a concert and were really blown away by the frontage and decoration.... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“I enjoyed it! I was there a couple of years ago on a school trip to London and I had a great time... what I remember anyway. The food was delicious, I got plenty to keep me from slipping into alcohol poisoning from the delicious beers and vodka's, and the staff was kind enough to let me keep a menu for a souvenir! So the decor is a little cold, I didn't mind... the food was awesome!”

“There is no garden at all. Just some tables on pavement with a road between them and the river. Total mis-description. I'm sure it would all be fine if it didn't say that it had a garden going down to the river.”

“Went there for a Bank Holiday lunchtime beer and had a pleasant hour or so nibbling on cheese and olives and watching all the 'lovely people'. Deserves better than 6/10.”

“Fine if you want a drink but forget if you want to eat. Poor staff together with a lack of any management means you're very unlikely to get your food within an hour of ordering. There are so many better alternatives to this place - so my suggestion is to give this place a miss.”

“Had some great nights down 3one7. Dj Stevie Lee T played some great RnB and Hip Hop when I was down on a Thursday. Lots of pool tables and tv's. Atmosphere is good and staff are friendly. Well worth a try.”

“We visted yesterday and went home very satisfied. It is one of the best places we have visited for a while. The food is excellent and cooked full of nice flavours and presented well. Outstanding dessert selection as well. Not heavy on the pocket for a nice meal and friendly staff. No wonder they were absolutely packed. Definitely worth a visit.”

The Churchill Arms, Kensington (Bar)
“I've been going to Churchill Arms on and off for over 5 years and I have never encountered bad service. The service is fine, the staff are professional and courteous, they serve you your food and pass you the bill. If you want Michelin Service go to the Ritz and pay over the odds for a bit of meat. I hadn't been in over a year and I went there yesterday (Bank Holiday Sunday) with two friends. It was nice to get out of the rain. They were both impressed and so was I. My only one very minor gripe is that the protions looked a tad smaller than I usually have. I often get the chicken with cashew nuts but there did not appear to be many cashews. Maybe it was me but I can't grumble, the food was hot, fresh and nice and CHEAP. This restaurant comes highly recommended.”

“Zigfrid the bar is testiment to one huge ego! Its design and layout doesn't work - the result is a logjam to get served at the bar. A 500 capacity venue with a tiny afterthought for washroom. The staff here are more interested in looking cool than actually serving you - why do we have to queue for a drink. No longer the home of the Hoxton twat - its essex boys & west end media girls.”

“An excellent restaurant for the family or even for an intimate dinner for two. I have been on many occasions and the quality of the food, drink and service has always been top notch. It is not the cheapest place to eat, but you don't go to the Kings Road for cheap. Nothing tops off a weekend in London better than a meal at the Bluebird.”

Cubana, Waterloo (Bar / Restaurant)
“The evening started bad because the table that my friend had booked was not vacant when we arrived. We sat elsewhere until our table of choice became available in a part of the restaurant that had more light. We had 2 portions of chicken & chorizo skewers and you get two skewers per portion, one portion of prawn skewers, 2 bowls of fried plaintains and an empanada each. Everything tasted great. My one gripe is that the food is a bit on the pricey side. One empanada costs £4.95 each. They are nothing more than a very substandard Jamaican pattie but where a pattie is more spicey, larger and with flaky pastry their empanda was a bit greasy. We were starving so we wolfed it down and as I said it tasted good. The food bill alone came to £68.00. Too expensive especailly when we didn't have desserts. I have, however had better sangria with more alcohol and fruit, theirs was very watery. I though it was me until later my friends ordered mojito's that tasted like cold mint tea, there was hardly any alcohol in it. My other major gripe was how quick the table staff were in removing plates and glasses. We were still eating when they started to clear away plates and my friend was nursing a cocktail when one of the staff snatched her glass from right under her. This is the height of bad manners I don't understand what their problem was because it was late but nowhere near closing time and it's not like they needed the table. It is very evident that Cubana is taking”

“Undoubtedly one of the best indian restaurants in London. Having lived in London for over 20 years and various suburbs within it, I have dined at many Indian restaurants. I came across this restaurant over 15 years ago and have since been dining there. The food served is exquisite and the quality of their dishes is superb. A restaurant of this magnitude is better suited in Central London with its exceptional food. I highly recommend a dining experience at Kadiri's I ensure you, you will not be disappointed.”

The Canonbury, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“I went to the Canonbury Tavern in June of last year with my partner and 11 year old daughter. Didn't feel this was a problem as they'd always let kids into the garden before, however, I was shocked to be told that children were no longer allowed in the garden. The garden was empty and my daughter, being 11, was hardly going to run around and cause a nuisence. I've grown up in Islington and my parents used to take me there as a child. It was one of the few places families could relax in the sunshine and meet friends for a drink. Could the closure of the pub be caused by barring all children from the garden thus losing a massive chunk of it's custom???”

“This pub is totally awesome, the refurb has given what was a pretty dreary pub a new lease of life. The food is gorgeous, the staff delightful, and a steamy garden to enjoy the summer in. Have definitely had many great nights here.”

“The Church is amazing. Between 1990 and 1996 I spent so many fantastic afternoons at the Church, followed on by Backpackers (across the road when it was in Kings Cross). Enjoyed it so much that I emigrated to Australia - to get an Ozzy bird of my own. My advice - go there, get drunk, snog and root as many as you can.”
