Dropped by this place a couple of weeks ago. Great! really cheap and they serve Guinness Red which I can't seem to find anywhere. They had all the 6 Nations games on too, which was another bonus. More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“A friend recently discovered this place and insisted I come along. It's completely unassuming from the outside but when you cross the threshold complete transformation takes place. Little colourful oil lamps are strung about the place and beautiful, hand-painted Turkish plates hang on the walls. The food portions are generous. Two people can very easily share one main. We had the vege platter, portobello salad and a meze dish of char-grilled prawns. The platter and salad were fresh, flavoursome and generally fabulous - and a steal at that price (about 8 quid for the platter). The prawns on the other hand were a massive disappointment. They were dry, unmarinated, and... not cleaned out. that thin strip of dark disgustingness was still in them. I only ate two and sent them back to the kitchen. That night I paid dearly for those two and got very ill. It says a lot about a restaurant though if you can get sick off one dish (don't touch the seafood!!!!!) but still recommend it to your mates.”

“We arrived early at this restaurant in order to make the most of the happy hour that was advertised on their website. However the barman advised us that there is no happy hour. They eventually backed down and said we could have half price jugs of sangria, which at £8 were actually very good value. When we sat down to order we were initially told that the set tapas menus included everything listed on the menu per person. The next waiter said we had to choose 10 between three of us which seemed a bit random, but we told the waiter the 4 we didn't want to make it simpler. When the food eventually arrived about 50 minutes later 9 dishes turned up and 2 of them where the ones we hadn't asked for! We then had to wait again & eventually got 2 dishes we had already ordered and had to complain to get the 10th dish which arrived about 30 mins after. When we received the bill the service charge was included but we paid the amount not including the service charge and left.”

“This bar has pretty reasonable decor and music but the drinks are pretty poor. i had a mojito that was way too sweet and a daiquiri that had the paint stripper taste that comes with poor quality rum. The staff were also quite rude, i had to wait at the bar for staff to finish their lengthy conversation before they served me. But the biggest issue i have is with the management - we had our coats on the seat where we were sitting and standing and were asked to move them on health and safety grounds which then turned into because they couldn't take responsibility if they were stolen but was actually due to the hefty profit they wanted to make on the cloak room. Trust me there are much better places to spend an £8 cover charge.”

“Had a cracking couple of drinks here on a stag weekend a wee while back. The staff were friendly and the bouncers happy to put up with a group of fairly inebriated but polite lads. Rare in central London these days.”

“Utter tripe, save your money and eat in the weatherspoons next door. Quite how you can cock up 11 meals is beyond me. Our meals when they finally arrived were either under cooked or stone cold. The ribs were dry, the chips were like wood and the chicken was undercooked. These meals were returned but they came back worse having been nuked in the microwave i guess. Needless to say i wont be rushing back. The one and only positive note to make was the table service which was ok. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.”

“I had an awful experience at the Warwick. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff is really rude, disrespectful and indifferent to the customers. Service is super slow and drinks are too expensive for what you actually get. The party next to me was having a birthday, and many people weren't allowed in. Another guy went outside for making a telephone call, and they wouldn't let him back inside. The Warwick is popular for making people upset. If you wanna spend your money, decide to go somewhere nicer in London, a city that has a lot to offer, so don't stop in this dreadful place.”

“Long story short: Upper Street branch, crappy, rude service. Waited forever for our drinks. We had to before the next table arrives, but it took them so long to print the damn bill, we wasted another half hour sorting it out! We asked that we just get another bill printed so we can speed it up and was refused and rudely reprimanded. Shocking. We where then called back, because we didn't pay a drinks bill (another one, which was seperate, but not presented to us at time of paying). We explained this and that started a huge argument with "bouncer / manager". Never again man. The food wasn't even that great! Overcooked, cheap meats, rude waiters running back and fro, nobody explaining how we should order / how the system works. Restaurant was loud and chaotic and not a very nice ambience. Just rubbish and totally over priced for what you get. Give it a wide berth.”

Picture of Wodka, Kensington, London

Wodka, Kensington (Restaurant)
“Tucked behind the main lights of London town and nestled amongst one of the loveliest pubs your likely to grace in the city sits Wodka. A polish restaurant with a penchant for vodkas. The setting is cosy, quaint almost, and we felt that we had most likely discovered a gem when we walked in. We started with the blinis. A miniature pancake which comes served with a variety of edibles that you might want to dump on the top of it. Take your pick from vinegary herring, wood mushrooms, plain yogurt, salmon and embriotic roe sacks. Now to be fair the mushroom pate was reasonably inoffensive, but the blinis were more of an ill fated flat Yorkshire pud than a pancake, the herring induced the gag reflex and the yogurt was more like Tesco Value plain than the Polish garlic flavour as advertised. Onto the main course, where my good friend Warrior received a pig leg fit for Mutley to dine on, lain on a bed of saurkraut. It's a good job he wasn't aiming to hit his 5 a day target last night… My stewed sinnew - or goulash - as it was referred to, was a bowl of connecting tissue in gravy without any of the sausage it promised on the menu. We skipped desert. And did I mention that the waiter sniggered at me when I order a vodka and soda… Pah! Value for money, put it this way, if I didn't get a 50% discount I would have been Royally p****** off. Prost.”
