“I went to Ju Ju for a friends birthday and not having been before was very impressed with the place, its beautiful inside with cool wall lighting and very friendly. My friend had booked a table and we were really looked after, much dancing ensued and we all had a fabulous night. Suffice to say my girlfriend had a great birthday and i will definately be going again! Have to mention the food too, we only had a few bits but what we had was really good, a pan asian vibe and very tasty!”

“This bar rocks I was there for a friend's wedding in May. I couldn't believe my eyes on how beautifully decorated the bar is. My friends, who are both into arts, couldn't choose a better venue to celebrate their big day. I absolutely loved it. We were quite a large group but I am sure it will look fabulous and full of beautiful people on a Friday or Saturday night however I spoke to a lovely lady at the door and she recommended booking in advance...no need to say they have the most exclusive cocktail list in London town and the food with is amazing. Guys check this place up; you will not regret!”

“One of the best korean restaurants that I have been to in London. I'm usually a visitor there during my lunch, although going for a late lunch and you might have to wait a bit for a table. Food is very tasty and cafe style. It is definately cheaper than most of the other korean restaurants in soho and they turn the orders around quite quickly which does help. Service is good with not much to complain about. Although they don't do the loyalty cards anymore.”

“I haven't been on TV nites. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are men's cruise nites. One of the few open early evening til just before midnight. Used to be very busy with a mixed age group, but unfortunately not nearly so busy now on the nites I've visited at least. Very cozy friendly place. Ted himself is behind the bar and always willing to chat to customers. Entrace fee is probably most reasonable in London for this type of gay venue.”

“Went there with my business partner during the week. Liked the place a lot, few tables, private feeling. The girls are friendly but not pushy. Classy club, where you can drink champagne with the girls and have a chat. I could even pick my favourite songs to listen. Next time will return.”

“I really can’t believe the transformation this place has undergone. It used to be a very run down drinking hole for the hardcore Chelsea fans on match days, which was the only time it was really busy, every other week during football season. It is now a cool cocktail bar, with a decor Mahiki style, flamboyant drinks, dance floor and very nice atmosphere. They even have a giant canoe hanging off the hut roof and sharing cocktails served in a flaming boat. Definitely worth a visit....Jess”

“I can’t believe how much this place has changed. It has gone from being a grubby and very run down place, which was really busy only on Chelsea match days, when the hard core Chelsea fans would go for a piss up prior to matches, to being a niche place, very beautiful décor and amazing cocktails. There is even a big canoe hanging from the hut roof……definitely recommend it….”

The Penny Black Restaurant & Bar, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“Make no mistake, this place is a great restaurant. No ifs, not buts. In truth the Penny Black was not what I was expecting when I walked through its dark coloured doors. It is neither spit and sawdust nor is it glitzy or glamorous. It is actually rather cool in a modern, discreet, warm style that grows on me as I sit and cast my eye around some modern art. Crisp white linen, weighty cutlery and beautifully shaped glassware helps to convey that this is a serious place, but the easy smiles and graceful yet confident manner of the staff suggest a more laid-back atmosphere. The service was very very good. Although noticeably young as a team, it was evident that our waiter was very well trained and made some excellent wine suggestions to go with our food choices of scallops, pork belly, the obligatory beef wellington and a curious monkfish and beetroot combination. The food was very well-judged on the whole, with robust yet balanced seasoning and an obviously loving attention to the cooking. Scallops with horseradish and black pudding were squishy and tender, perfectly cooked just to the point of tipping from under to just right. Wellington was every bit as good as I had been told it was by friends who had already visited. However I was completely blown away by the pork belly, so much so that I asked to see the chef to find out how the meat was so tender and flavoursome on the bottom, yet roasted to crispy perfection on the top. I have promised not to divulge the exact details, but I can report the liberal use of cider and a roasting technique that is inspired. The rest of the evening melds into one long experience of intimate conversation, flirty touches over an obnoxiously good strawberry shortcake, playful swirling of dessert wine and a late acknowledgement that we never noticed the waiter, despite our glasses always being full and the table clean. My daze was rudely awoken by the extraordinary hand drier in the washroom which was so loud and powerful that it positively shocked me. My umbrella was also mistakenly given out to another customer and I was left with a similar black number, only to find that it inverts with alarming ease and would have been more practical if it had a hole in it instead. Nevertheless, I left feeling overwhelmingly sated, happy in the knowledge that British food is in the seemingly safe hands of a young, talented team at the Penny Black. Oh, that curious monkfish and beetroot combination - much much better than it sounds and I'm having to myself next time.”

Hated

"Girls were rude demanding tips for a poor show. If this is the best club London has to offer don't bother going anywhere else in the city." Which venue is this?
