“I think that any place where the waiters give you a very relaxing aikkido massage right after you've got heartburn from very stupidly downing a flaming lambourghini (and it was a sunday, what was i thinking) deserves my props and a big tip. anyway the mohitos were awesome so i';ll be back, but just maybe not for flaming lambos. I hope ive got the right jazz bar. i kinda forgot where i was after all that. ”

The Blue Posts, West End (Bar)
“The Blue Posts is run by the staff from the former King's Head in Newport Place, Chinatown. Michael and A (yes that's his full first name!) are changing the place day by day for the better. Can be counted amongst the few West End locals. Friendly, good draught bitters (London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord - £2.50 - and a good selection of Belgian beers on draught and bottled). Ample portions of freshly cooked food available daily until 9 p.m. and proper Sunday Roasts, with VERY reasonable prices and a variety of specials, differing daily. No TV, just good background music, mainly traditional. Most attentive and friendly staff. Upstairs bar available (often used for play readings and the like). Decor being refurbished as money and time (all done by the "Guvners" in out-of-hours time) permit. The sort of place one can spend a few hours and not notice the time fly. Mixed, friendly crowd. Be careful, you might get caught up in somebody's birthday party or some other celebration! Who cares if it is a smallish pub, it's the only one I go to in the West End.”

“The owner and staff are really friendly and cool! This bar is about value for money but not about price - you get value for money in its uniqueness, no entrance or cover for live music, friendliness and fun! You need a good sense of humour and don't worry about the cost of drinks - they are doubles!”

“I live near by so I decide to try Cz food. It was excellent! Huge portions, very tasty. Not very nice surroudings and the pub was busy from locals supporting ice hockey. But it was great choice on menu and drinks and very reasonable.”

“Awesome !! Went there last Friday had a fantastic time with some work friends, just caught the end of their happy hour (5.30-7.30 !), a beer for £1.80 and cocktail for less than £3 which was a bonus. We also had some food in there American diner which was great value for money, tasty and we were served by a really great waiter. As the night went on and got busier we were delighted when a band came on at around 10.30, played a really good mix of tunes, went off then came back on after a break then played a fantastic 2nd set which got everyone in the venue rocking to. When the band went off a dj took over a played until 3am. All our party(aged 22-35) stayed until the end and agreed that it was the best staff night out we've had in ages, we thought the security staff were the most friendly and professional even encountered. Well done Roadhouse !!!”

Satay Bar, Brixton (Bar / Restaurant)
“Hmmmm... took my lady here and was a bit disappointed. The starters and mains arrived a little too quickly and were pretty plain affairs for the £10-ish price tag. Not bad but not spectacular either. You have to run the gauntlet a bit to get in, especially (i imagine) if you are a woman. It was a little difficult to have an intimate tete a tete, with the goons learing at you from over the plastic picket fence that separates bar and restaurant. But it seems to be a hit with the locals and sure is vibrant. - just not what I was after, however...”

“I have seemingly had a very different experience to most of the other reviewers.... on my visit the door staff were congenial and accommodating and the clientele was an equal mix of suits and trendy west-enders. Being a thursday night it probably wasn't as 'swinging' as it sounds on a friday but there was still a good atmosphere. It's just such a shame that most of the bar staff have had a complete customer service. They have obviously spent too much time around the confident city boys and now assume a ridiculous air of self importance. When I questioned the taste of a cocktail that one of my group had ordered I was completely dismissed as I clearly hadn't had the years of experience that it must take to mix 1 part alcohol with 2 parts fruit juice. In all if you can overlook this (or only want to drink beer) then this is a easy choice. ”

The Dome, Kentish Town (Bar / Club)
“The Dome is a good place to hold live gigs. On a saturday night sometimes it can take a while to pick up and is not always that busy, but the music they play is good if your into rock and indie music. I have been to the Dome quite a few times and found it to be ok.”

Chapel Bar & Club, Angel & Islington (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“I came to the Chapel for the first time last thursday for the launch party of Shuffle. I was happily surprised throughout the evening... First, despite being crowded, the bar was not that smokey, the vibe was good and the staff on-the-ball. Second, the drinks were not over-priced, a good point for a venue closing at 1am. And third, at the end of the bar, there is a proper dancefloor with a very good sound system and that was the best surprise. Clash Hi-Fi delighted the crowd which skanked and sweat to the sounds of ska, rocksteady, funk, reggae and soul. It was a great night and everyone stayed til the end and shouted for more. Definitely a great night in a great place. ”

Blushes Cafe, Chelsea (Bar)
“I was absolutely amazed when I was at Blushes and asked for a glass of tap water to take some painkillers (I a broken leg) and was told that they would only sell me still or sparkling mineral water. Additionally my pregnant friend was with me and she received the same response! When I spoke to the Manager she told me in no uncertain terms (quite rudely) that they do this to make a profit from the water that they provide. Quite astounding!”

“This place is fantastic! Ignore Williams, he/she hasn't got a clue. It's a Sunday like no other, and as a Church veteran of over 7 years I do know what I'm talking about. And I'm not fat or obscene, nor have I ever puked at the Church. In fact, I've never seen anyone puke at the Church in those 7 years. Williams, you don't know pure, unadulterated fun is.”

"Love the place, the food and the coffee, but most important is the staff and their happy smiling faces every time I go in. Would recommend this to anyone in the area, or if not - get in your car, drive..." Which venue is this?

Hated
