Had a bloody good time with a mate at the bar. We went with some guys and ended up going back 2 more times. Very friendly atmosphere. The bouncers were great to us but then again we are women. Got... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“I went on a Sunday night, we were two person and had to wait 5 minutes to get at place. But god, the food was very good!!! The service was very fast and polite. This restaurant is always full and that's the best sign to recognise the quality. Price is affordable, £30 for two person -without alcohol. PS: You might have to share a large table with other people but if you really don't want to, ask to be placed on the table fronting the windows.”

“A unique design gives this wonderfully welcoming pub an unusual twist. Now that it is my local, my only disappointment is that when sharing it with some of my cooler friends, they they appear to have been going there for years. You would not think that a 50's design would add charm and design cudos to an establishment, but it does. The wooden partions allow for a suprisingly intimate dinner atmosphere and the main drinking room is light and roomy. The staff stand out as a extremely friendly and thankfully knowledge about the beer, food and wine. Whether if be food, a quiet drink or a conversation you are in luck. Overall an excellent find and one that any visitor to Holborn or genuine London pub connisseur should know about.”

“I like the Drayton arms - it's airy, light with nice people. Admittedly, it's not always busy, but it's more of a locals pub than anything else. If you get bored, you can always go to Eclipse across the road.”

“11/02/05 - Oh dear - I so want to like this place. True the atmosphere is fun and the staff are friendly, but the food. Oh dear. My recent lunch consisted of reheated new potatoes (cold in the middle) a cold and unappetising steak served with a cook-in pepper sauce and a bizarre take on Gravadlax which doesn't work. In the past I have enjoyed some fantastic meals (delicious kangaroo and ostrich steaks) but have also suffered uncooked chicken, and lots of microwaved food. Christmas lunch for 10 of us, was a disaster. It just seems like the guy(s) in the kitchen is believes in cooking the food the day before and trying to make a large margin by cutting corners - either that or he hates his job, the waiting staff and the customers. Sort him out! Nice place for a drink though. ”

“Fantastic and surprising gay venue. Aimed primarily at the blokier, 'bear-ier' end of the market, this place is rammed solid at weekends. Excellent if you want a relaxed Sunday afternoon or midweek pint.”

“I love going out around Shoreditch but most of all i love going to the Monkey, I am a duck pancake expert and have yet to find a place serving better Peking duck accompanied by a yuummmmy pinapple mojito... the staff are all effiecient and friendly and the music is always funky. Madden's, Finchley (Bar)
“A great local pub, the best in East Finchley. The front caters for the locals whilst the back area is chilled out with stools and leather sofas. This website says that it closes at 23.00! Not according to my watch it doesn't ;)”

“Its worth a vist just for the DJ Dean Courtney. Favourite sounds we`ve all forggotten. Not the usual sit on the fence and thump and bump. This boy's got the personality to run the country.”

“Sorry but I have to disagree, no atmosphere here and there is always some bloody sport on the screens. Means you can't go in for fear of all the chavs giving you evils for laughing. B-a-d food as well. Waited ages for a salad of all things and my boyfriend had cold sausages. By this time was too hungry to complain.”

“Fantastic location with one of the best views in London! Bussling atmosphere and fantasic service - we had dinner in the restaurant (I recommend the Chicken and parma ham) followed by drinks in the bar - only criticism is the bar is too comfy and we ended up staying the rest of the evening there! Great selection of drinks too, cocktails to pints!! We will definately go back!!”

“As I live just around the corner I was really pleased when I found out a Browns was opening on Butler's Wharf. The building is really impressive with some fantastic views over Canary Wharf, London Bridge and The City. The menu, wine list and cocktails are the same as the other restaurants in the chain - good value for money and you know what you are going to get. The restaurant did have some teething troubles to begin with - the first few times I went it seemed too busy for the staff to cope. However, it has been much better recently with the traditional friendly Browns service. The bar has recently been given a bit of a transformation with lots of comfy sofas and softer lighting - it makes a real difference and is now a great after work place to enjoy a pint with colleagues. If you want a good value for money meal and drink then Browns is a great choice.”

The Castle, Battersea (Bar)
“The Castle is a cracking pub with a friendly atmosphere. A rare gem tucked away in Battersea with the best Sunday Roast (the potatoes are simply the best you will ever taste). The fireplace and the stunning Riocca is all you need to make a Sunday perfect!”

HIS DJ NAME WAS SORDID SOUNDZ AND PLAYS THERE EVERY FRIDAY! CHECK HIM OUT! ) ALSO HAD DRINKS PROMOTIONS GOING ON WHICH WERE EXCELLENT VALUE! JUST AS WE WERE ABOUT TO LEAVE NOTICED THEY HAD SOME GEORGEOUS GOGO BOYS DANCING ON TOP OF THE BARS SO ENDED UP STAYING A WHILE LONGER!!!! DEFINETELY THE PLACE TO BE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!
