I ate at this restaurant expecting a great steak. I was dissapointed to be honest. I ordered a sirloin (which wasn't cheap) medium rare and it came medium well. The waiting staff were not amused when... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“I am so jealous I didn't make it to Altitude for NYE this year - my sister and her boyfriend went and said it was the most beautiful night. Apparently the view of the fireworks was stunning - I can't imagine a more perfect location. And with good food, champers and service. After her recommendation I will certainly come visit soon!”

“Really nice little Italian place - not cheap for what it is, but that's to be expected in Marylebone. Agree with the review, figs for starters were great!”

Comptons of Soho, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“This pub is a legend! One of the oldest gay venues in town, its a proper old pub, with great prices, lower than most of the bars around it. The crowd is usually fun and chilled but can verge on a bit sleazy, depending on the day/time, etc. Upstairs is more chilled with nice tables looking out onto the action of the street below.”

Maoz, Soho (Restaurant)
“This place is nothing special - the food is boring, the falafels are dry dry dry and there's nothing amazing about eating there. Just a glorified kebab shop, with no kebabs and higher prices, but fine if you want a quick, fairly healthy mid-booze snack.”

“Freedom is great fun! A swanky-ish bar upstairs, a fun, mostly gay crowd, hot cocktails and nice bar staff. Downstairs feels a bit like a club in Majorca, but in a good, fun way!”

Balans Soho Society, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“Balans can have an amazing atmosphere on a good night - it's also the only place you can get a sit-down meal in Soho after 3am, and the party really gets started then! Although their dubious alcohol policy - sometimes you can drink, sometimes you can't is annoying, as is the now mandatory cover charge per person (for a restaurant!!) and added service charge. If you're hammered and hungry and don't care about splashing out, this might be a good place to come.”

Fino's Wine Cellar, Mayfair (Restaurant)
“Fino's is a convenient place to go after work if you work in the area, there is a huge publishing house opposite where I think most of the customers come from post 5:30 finishing time. The staff can be quite rude in there but there is one diamond in the rough who is a lovely old chap who is very helpful if a little flirty with the pretty girls! There is a long wine list but not many are by the glass so if you are going, make sure you are there for the long haul! The pizzas at this restaurant are mouth-watering, it's a great place to go in the summer to dine alfresco with friends and a bottle of plonk!”

Hare & Tortoise, Putney (Restaurant)
“My boyfriend I go to the Hare and Tortoise a lot, as it is just a five minute walk from home. The food is amazing and so cheap with it. I have got take away sushi many times before and love watching the skilled chefs making it right before your eyes. The sit down meals are just as good, huge portions of great thai food made freshly in the kitchen. The drinks menu isn't so extensive but caters for most needs. Would recommend to anyone in the area to try.”

Le Pot Lyonnais, Battersea (Bar / Restaurant)
“This is the ultimate in hangover hangouts, especially in the summer when you can sit outside. I love nothing more than nipping over the road to get a sunday paper then basking in the sun with a delicious breakfast (eggs benedict is great!) people watching and chilling out. The typically French restaurant has typically French waiters, they tend to be so relaxed they are almost waiting for you to serve them! Just what you need on a hangover - no one fussing around you, they just let you get on with it and stay at the table for as long as you want. Have been for dinner just the once and the food was great but I definitely recommend for breakfast or lunch! Have just remembered the burger and chips are yummy too!”

“Great pub for an after work glass of wine, they have so many different bottles on offer and I was pleased to find recently they have added one of my favourite South African whites. Gets busy upstairs quite early on thursdays/fridays but I much prefer it up there - especially if i can get a seat with my friends.”

“I prefer to sit downstairs when I visit this chinese dim sum restaurant, upstairs is light and airy but downstairs feels more exclusive and i love the huge fishtank that spans the width of the bar (if you get bored of your company that can keep you entertained for hours!) The food and wine can be expensive but it's totally worth it. I love the venison puffs, spicy soft shell crab, mushroom dumplings and ginger martinis! the waiting staff are so professional and really attentive. Great London restaurant & bar to go after work.”

Yumchaa, Soho (Bar)
“I love this restaurant especially at lunch time, it's a great place to take clients to for a quick coffee and slice of cake. The customers in there tend to be quite quirky, lots of people working with one of Yumchaa's delicious teas. My favourite is Red Christmas, it's smells and looks delicious and it's so cheap in there to. A real good find.”

Aquum, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Great place for food in the daytime/early eve! Lovely atmosphere, amazing decor - really swanky and something special on Clapham High Street. Sadly there are not enough tables for food now that it's become cold - the outside area is pretty much done in now with the cold weather, and there are not enough proper tables to have food on inside, as they're usually reserved or booked up - sort it out Aquum!”

Apollo Banana Leaf, Tooting (Restaurant)
“This restaurant is one of the best value for money curry places in Tooting. The dosas are lovely for a starter and their mutton curry really good. However, I must say that the most moresish thing they serve are their rotis - I have never had any better and went friends and I would go we'd always order twice as many than we intended too! Delicious. All in all, recommended for a tasty, cheap meal!”
