Opal, West End (Bar / Club)
“Went to opal on a saturday night, called them night before to find out about admission and music, was told it was free before 10pm..and dj was there from 8pm..all happy and a in a good mood turned up and was stopped by bouncers saying it was £7 before 10pm..all surprised, we were just about to turn away when one of the bouncer let us through..very nice..only to be stopped at the entrance by the blondie, saying the same think...bla bla..when the nice guy turned up again i told blondie to let us in..thank you..so a little pissed and 'lucky' at the same time we headed for the bar..where bar staff tried to fool us by selling the more expensive wine than we actually ordered, saying they changed the menus(yet is the busiest time-christmas) and they dont bother printing them..??finally after 15 mins she brings the right wine..
Prices are totally over the top too..(bottle of beer is £4.80,bottle of wine-the cheapest was £19).. have been to some members clubs in London and had cheaper drinks there..
Music was good, crowd was fun..we just didnt feel like sticking around..
So never again for me...0 stars overall!!
Merry Christmas...”

McQueen Lounge Bar & Club, Shoreditch (Bar / Club)
“To be fair, the bar looks nice and the club is great.
The main problem is the staff: they are rude and they try to overcharge you. If you don't pay, they start intimidating you by calling the bouncers. They would not want to let me go so I ended up paying the outrageous bill to get out and then called my bank to cancel the payment.
By far, the worst place I've been in London.”

Kampung, Enfield & Barnet (Restaurant)
“If you dont want a dodgy tummy the next day DONT eat here. If you dont like bad service and rude staff, DONT eat here. If you want your money's worth when you pay £17 for an unlimited amount of food and dont want to be told what to order, DONT eat here.
Absolute disaster zone. We had a large party, all paid £17 for unlimited food and they made it as difficult as possible for us to get any food at all! It took them about 1.5 hours to finally get our main courses and then you were frowned upon if you tried to order more dishes. The kids menu is for under 10's which for my 11 year old niece was ridiculous as no way would she eat as mmuch as an adult - they thought they were then being nice by offering her meal at £10 instead of £8, their kids meal price. Shy scrounge an extra £2 when your party will be spending at least £300 on food alone?!
The Malaysian curry I had tasted nothing better than a tin of uncle benn's sweet and sour or a £1 iceland special and all the dishes my partner then ate tasted the same as this one. I gave up after this one plate which was seriously under parr and didn't order anything else. Do to the bad stomach I now have I am glad I didnt take the chance.
Unfortunately this place will stay alive due to its prime location in winchmore hill but save your money and eat food 20 times better at Jim Thompsons accross the road (unfortunately we couldnt get in here in Saturday as it was full). Kampung is like a tourists £4.95 all you can eat you'd find in W1. Awful.”

Amber, City of London (Bar / Club)
“If I could rate this place zero stars I would.
We booked a private function room / restaurant at Amber Bar for our work Christmas do in December 2010. Upon arriving we found they had reserved us a small area in the bar, which catered for less than half of our group of 30 (with no seats). It was set up by the toilets where they expected us to eat as other punters trudged in and out of our area (and often tried to take it over).
The bar was extremely hot in the middle of winter, leaving many sweating. The staff were extremely rude and not helpful in trying to resolve the matter, nor apologising for the mix-up as we should have had our own private area.
We paid over £2000 for the food and drinks up front. The wines were very average and there was a poor selection. Some of our party were so upset by the mix-up that they left, and others went home early because of the heat. There were no vegetarian options so some people could not eat the selection of food offered.
The nightclub was extremely busy and full of gawking men at every turn trying to grab your ass and hit on you. They had clearly overbooked the venue due to Christmas and I spoke to other punters who had also had similar bad experiences that night.
One bloke said they were taken to their restaurant area, but staff didn't tell them it was set up so their food was going cold, then they were rushed through dinner and never given any butter, salt & pepper - let alone service.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want food, go to a proper restaurant. If you want clubbing then go to a decent nightclub or bar like MOS or bedroom bar! Never again!”

The White Swan, City of London (Bar / Restaurant)
“I loved this pub/restaurant on Fetter Lane! Work in Holborn so this is the perfect place for post work boozing! It is very friendly and cosy, I feel right at home whenever I visit! Have eaten in the upstairs dining area a few times too, great food and wine and service. Not one bad thing to say about this Central London gastro pub!”

Champagne Charlies, West End (Bar / Restaurant)
“Excellent atmosphere and good service however although my steak was excellent the quantity of vegetables was very poor (10 runner beans and 2 small boiled potatoes cut in half) I requested more from the waitress but was informed that was the amount always served? A great shame considering all of the other factors.”

Lovefood, Finchley (Bar / Restaurant)
“its all just been changed around in the last few weeks i think. There is new management in there. Eaten there a couple of times with clients. The menu is really different which is refreshing for someone like myself considering the options in the area for breakfast. The new guy in there seems to know what he is doing. Hopefully it will get the recognition is deserves”

Buona Sera, Clapham (Restaurant)
“This place is a decent, economic and reasonably authentic high street Italian. Ive been going for over 15 years and its pretty reliable. Some dishes are average, some are great but none are bad. Its a loud buzzy atmosphere, normally busy and a decent meal for 2 with one bottle of wine is about £40.”
