“It is a beautiful old pub. Chock full of history, warmth, character and friendly waitstaff! Always have a lovely time with mates, and enjoy the flexibility of the outdoor dining, pub seating of chairs and booths, as well as the nice restaurant proper, which is upstairs.”

“There's not a lot to say here.
Beautiful food, excellent service. An absolute treat!
There is a real finesse to the cooking. What you think you know, you realise that you are now eating in "AA"
The service is exceptional without being obsequious or over powering.
I am sure that you won't be disappointed.”

“Looked after and served by Wesley and our table served by petite darkhaired colleague - both an absolute credit to the hostelry. So surprising to be looked after so well in a London pub. Please pass our thanks to both.”

The George Shillibeer, Angel & Islington (Bar / Restaurant)
“What a find! This bar has so much character. And it's full of characters too. It must be some sort of old warehouse or factory. The layout and various levels certainly suggest it. Great service, excellent mezze sharing platter, good ales on tap, bags of cool people hanging out, and it's right next door to a theatre. What a cool find. A real hidden gem!!”

Azzurro, Waterloo (Bar / Restaurant)
“The thing that stands out the most about this bar-restaurant is the location underneath the railway tracks. From the outside it doesn't look like much but once through the glass front doors it's a huge cavernous space that is great for hiding in. Would suit post-show drinks after Royal Festival Hall (exactly what my mate and I did) to discuss the performance over a Hoegarden beer. Just a skip over the road to loads of public transport too.”

Masala Zone Soho, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“Really excellent service. The lamb korma was surprisingly delicious. I thought this might be an Indian Pizza Express type experience but it is anything but. The restaurant itself is not too flash but the location - right near Carnaby street in the centre of Soho - makes it ideal for post-bar or post-pub group gatherings. And fairly inexpensive too.”

The Old Coffee House, Soho (Bar)
“A decent selection of ales, guest ones too. Quite a mixed crowd - media types who work nearby, students, an obvious shoppers from out of town. A few distracting TV screens that they could do without. But pride of this pub is the paraphernalia adorning the walls and ceiling. When the conversation gets boring, just let your eyes wander. Particularly like the old wartime posters.”

Wine & Bread, Brent Cross & Hendon (Bar / Restaurant)
“Wine and Bread is a warm, family-run Portugese restaurant in Hendon, North London, with extremely reasonable prices. We have eaten there on several occasions and love the fact that the food is simple, honest and home-cooked. The atmosphere is warm and informal (but great for a romantic meal). Share a Cataplana De Ameijoas com Carne - a really tasty and hearty disk of clams with chorico, bacon, pork and potatoes. We also love the home-made desserts (we had a chocolate and coffee moose last time, which was fantastic).
But that is not where it ends. We noticed that the restaurant has a separate section at the back - a narrow but long section with beautiful decor and enough room to seat 20 diners. So I had my 30th birthday there! And it was fantastic! Kadir and Marcia did everything possible to help. They supplied a really tasty hot and cold mixed buffet. But they have also thought of the little touches that make special occasions special - such as having an MP3 player that takes memory sticks, so all you need to do is bring your favorite music on a USB stick and you're sorted. The same goes for a memory stick with photos on (Kadir helped us set up a slideshow on the large TV they have in the private area).
As you probably can tell, I can't praise Wine and Bread highly enough! Kadir and Marcia are just so friendly and welcoming, the food is simple, home-cooked and tasty and my birthday was a huge success because they took the time to discuss my every requirement with me.”

“Great venue, used to be an bit more traditional local but they’ve had a little revamp, still quite charming and seems better managed with a better garden and decor. No cocktail venue and not high end but enjoyable.”

“A hidden gem, The Nag's Head is everything you could ask for in a traditional London pub. Small and cosy with friendly staff, good beers at reasonable prices and tradition - lots of it. Highly recommended.”

Boujis Nightclub, Kensington (Bar / Club)
“The location of the club is nice, in the heart of kensington, but the club atmosphere is the worst in london: they let a lot of young girls enter for free, while man cannot enter if they are without a girl (they ask in the entrance if they know each other). You cannot enter if you don't wear hills (for girls) and suit (for man). When you are inside, you can't stay in the waiting room; so if you are waiting for a person or just phoning, a secutiry arrives and in an unpolite way say to move outside or downstairs inside the club; and if you try to say something they answer you badly. The worst club in London for me”
