The Norfolk Arms, Kings Cross (Bar)
“Came across this fantastic place by accident. What a surprise. It was truly different, relaxed and unpretentious. An unusual combination of foods on the menu which changes regularly and a great spanish wine list. Superb value for money and deserves a visit although it is more restaurant than pub.”

“While the camisoles did nothing for me, the new cocktails did! 3 of us tried almost all of the 10 London Cocktails, inspired by the city. They were really exotic and packed a punch. I didn't dare try the £350 drink but it looked really nice!”

“I went to Madhus for a dinner with my family, in Southall Broadway since the old Southall one was closed, i was disgusted to find a long strand of hair in my daal, my glass was also not washed and dirty.. i will never go there again.”

The Phoenix, Victoria (Bar / Restaurant)
“I have just come back from the Phoenix and although the staff were attentive and friendly the fact that i paid £9 for "a solitary" fishcake, place on a few wilted leeks with a blob of tartare sauce on it.... was a bit hard to swallow!... and left me planning where to go for dinner... disappointing! and ridiculously hot too... radiators on full blast and the place was full... shame as great on the onset.”

“Appalling restaurant, bad management and inedible food. Supposed to have a michelin starred chef, more like michelin man doing the cooking. Will not be returning.”

“Went to the opening last night and it was superb. Fantastic small venue - eating at the bar - really felt like was in Barcelona. Superb food, very reasonably priced wines and the Head Chef of Fino there himself to make sure all went smoothly. A really charming, lovely, great place!”

Baroque, Ealing (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“I dined at the kiwi kitchen along with 3 others on 23rd decmeber 2006. I had great expectations as i had heard many mixed reviews about the place but also beause i am a kiwi and just wanted great "home" food. All i can say is the food is fantastic... but the place was a bit of a let down. Its a mix between a bar, bar and grill and a restaurant.. which would go down very well in NZ, but over here i think diners are confused as to what sort of establishment it is.. up market or casual... there are not many "in the middle" establishments or brasserie type eating places overe here.. .and it confuses people i think..... the food is just far too good to be served in the environment it is... smarten up the place, get rid of the bar attire, bar service and i think they will have a winning combination.”

Cittie of York, City of London (Bar)
“Great little pub, really olde england main bar with high beam roof, wood panelling, wrought iron-work,drinking booths, and a most unusual and interesting free standing triple grate fire. The real ale/lager is from Sam Smiths, oldest Brewery in Yorkshire - so be careful you posing alchopop softies - this is serious stuff - and its at a very cheap price too! A proper pub. A+”

“At last, an independent pub in the area serving 6 real ales including a regular supply of ever changing guest beers. Went in on a Thursday when it is 'Curry and a pint for under an tenner' night and had the best food I have had in a pub in the last 10 years! Like the link with the local rugby club as I gather it means no football will be shown on the screens, only cricket and rugby. Please dont change!”

“Left the abysmal Bar due to lack of service and narrowly avoided a full-scale riot taking place outside the club on my way back to the tube station later on that night... season of goodwill indeed! nightmare!!!”
