“Three Yanks walked into a bar... I was in London for a business meeting and convinced 2 of my co-workers to go hear some Gyspy Jazz at Le QuecumBar. Although I had never been before, I had heard of it thorough numerous Gypsy Jazz blogs. My buddies were skeptical but had nothing better to do... The long, winding cab ride was worth it. We got there early and were able to secure a table in front of the stage to watch Stu Blagden and his "mates" play joyful Django styled jazz. Great food, tasty "vittles" (a Texas word), and an overall fun atmosphere. It's as close as I'll come to experiencing the "Bals" of Pigalle in the '20s. Well worth the 4758 mile journey. I hope to become a regular by returning each time I travel to London.”

“I am an ass, so I fit right into the crowd. Lots of dirty little sluts. Many we're making out on the couches. I loved it. There is a giant gay Indian bouncer with a long beard. He is very entertaining. I think Andy Sandberg from SNL was behind the bar.”

“I just enjoyed the lunchtime special at this bar; £6 for a neat little portion of the dinner special with a soft drink. Bargain, considering how good it tasted. Wasn't too large either. No need to stuff myself until dinner. The tunes here are pretty cool too and I like the big windows and front-&-back beer garden. An inordinate number of young pretty girls there too. Must be a university close by or something.”

“Love this restaurant! It's great to have a local indian that serves seriously good food. No more takeaways for me - well depending on whether I can get a table or not.”

“I have been to this restaurant on several occasions. First of all when it newly opened on Church street and the food as authentic Thai, fantastic. The second time I went there, the authenticity left much to be desired, for one who travels a lot and has been to Thailand on more then one occassion, and knowing what real Thai food should taste like, it was a real disappointment. So it took me years to visit the new venture on the high road. I wish i had not gone. The place looks good but the food was mediocre, not authentic Thai at all and all the curries taste the same. My five guest, all foodies and very familiar with Thai food, were equally disappointed. It seems that this restaurant really has compromised the standard of food for location? I will never go back again and if you really want some good Thai food where they use essentials like: Fresh coriander, fresh Basil, green pepper corns, baby aubergine etc, do visit some smaller good Thai restuaratns, there are many in London and much cheaper too.”

“I just celebrated my mates birthday at platinum lace, lovely place, I can only describe it as being booked in a hotel and then being 'bumped' up to an upgrade, we were given the members lounge as we were a large group spending a bit on bottles... and girls... and get this, the lounge had an Xbox in it, I'm playing topless volleyball with a dancer... I wasnt topless, but you get my meaning. Not only am I going back, I'm going to buy one of thos kinnect things for my xbox at home too!! Its like Willy Wonka's factory for grown ups!!”

Pu's Brasserie, City of London (Restaurant)
“I visit Pu's as often as possible, taking various friends - who all want to return - at least twice a month. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is tasty and the chef will add extra spices to dishes if I ask. This is good value anywhere, but especially in central London.”

“We booked a table for 7:45, and half way through our main course we noticed they close at 9pm. On the dot chairs started to go on tables, and a strong smell of bleach wafted throug the restaurant. Not pleasant. We ended up along the road in Carluccios for coffee and there were six of us. Would I go there again? NOT A CHANCE.”
