“The best bar in London hands down, from the cocktails, charming barmen and the slick management. I love this place. ”

“been to the angelic quite a few times as the place itself is pleasant and very chilled. we've always had to wait a long time for our food, which has been decent enough (a little bit up it's own arse, a lot bit expensive). however there always seems to be something wrong with the place (they're shortstaffed, the kitchen's closed, the chef's dead etc etc) that seems to guarantee poor service. today, we waited 45 minutes only to be told there'd been a mix up and the order hadn't been processed. fair enough, this happens sometimes. when told we could re-order and wait again, we asked for a refund and maybe a free drink (as we'd specifically gone there and waited for food). the barmaid (tubby, pierced lip) informed us that she didn't like the fact that we'd asked for it and therefore wouldn't compensate in any way. when i worked in the service industry i did exactly that - offered the customer the best service possible without unnecessary attitude. its a shame that such a good venue is being run by people with clearly no comprehension of this. shalln't be returning.”

“The cheapest drink comes in at £10 a glass and you rate it value for money - wish i was earning your salary (sorry didn't get chance to try the £1295.00 Veuve Clicquot, Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut).”

“Voted the finest bar in London by the Evening Standard for good reason. They've changed the uniforms a little lately, but it's still a lot of fun. Very private (hidden behind the 'blue door'), and very cool. Top bar, if expensive.”

“ I used to come here years and years ago. (it used to be much more gay) The decor has changed which you would expect - but still has that nice kitsch feel about it. I do love the fish tank downstairs and the staff are still just as friendly and smiley which is great especially when trying to order your 5th cocktail. I always end up leaving late which I suppose means it has been a great night. Nights vary but the music is great fun - with excellent funky house with a few cheesy anthems thrown in - basically all round good fun. The best thing is the drunken rabble are usually left on the sidewalk as the club promotes a friendly clientelle policy.”

“The spiciest ginger beer in London! Great drinks, good food but very pricey and the bar staff are not exactly 'happiness and light'... Go with a group of mates for the best experience.”

“the place is quite nice..jammin on a Friday and Saturday. there's indoor and outdoor seating. benches and tables outside whilst inside there are table and chairs along with comfy 2-3 seater soafs (according to the sizes of the individuals),there are also stools at the bar. the obviously stressed-out chef can be seen to the left of the bar. to the right there a small room fitted with sofas perfect for a private conversation. the bar staff are friendly enough, a bit pricy but delicious food is served quite efficiently by a waiter even more stressed than the chef. Overall its one of the best places on Kilburn High Road.”

“A great and slightly off the beaten track place that manages to combine gastropub quality food with a traditional atmosphere that fits in well with the beautiful old decor. The huge and nice garden is a bonus, and a sunny afternoon there seems like a perfect Pimms occasion.”

“If it was the end of the world, I wouldn't drink in this pub. A group of us turned up on a Saturday afternoon after a day in the park, seeking refreshment. We were told we would have to wait for food because the chef was cleaning the loo. It then took 20 minutes for incompetent staff to take our order and serve drinks that were out of date. When the food finally came, they had mixed up the orders. A baked potato was announced by the waitress as a Yorkshire pudding (we were grateful for the light relief). They brought extra food without realising, but missed one order completely - by the time we mentioned it, the chef had closed the kitchen in protest and refused to cook it. The staff were rude and unapologetic, the cutlery was dirty and the food wasn't nice. I don't recommend this place.”

“Back again, since leaving my last message The Cave has just got better & better, Friday nites not so bad now since I had a word with Deek! Still a steady flow of amazing people, you just can not diss this place, the staff are even friendlier & helpful, such as Nick & Sue, my saviours! You are always greeted with a lovely big smile from Sue who keeps an eye on things in the dance area. Come on, you cant get better in Blackheath, or even South London come to think about it, The Venues full of teenie boppers & Deja Vue is full of plastic gangsters, I drive about 8 miles to get to the Cave & its well worth the money in my wallet, & my friends love it too, do yourselfs a favour this summer, get down to Cave Austin, it will be kicking!! I just wish it could stay open till 2am, (Nick?)”

“I live on the same road as this pub. Over the last 14 years I haveseen it change hands a number of times. I always looked forward to the day when i could walk in and buy a good pint and order some good simple food. I am still waiting. Sadly this is the only pub on the Tahmes between Hammersmith and Putney bridge and has a captive audiance. The beer is so so and the couple of times I have ordered food the duck (the first time) and the sausages in the sausage and mash had been waiting around in the kitchen they could have claimed a pension. Don't go there unless you want to get so plasteed you wont notice how average this place is.”

“the biggest pub in hampstead. the biggest beer garden in hampstead. the handiest pub for an evening pint after a saturday afternoon in biggest park in north london. however, will this pub ever ever have more than 2 working behind the bar? i doubt it. will the manager tell you "im too busy to talk about this now, im training these 2 waiters up" and walk off when you point out that saturday afternoons are normally fairly popular in here to her? yes she will. will i go somewhere else next time? yeah, and i advise you to do likewise.”
