“A very individual pub with an atmosphere of its own. This pub typifies this part of South London with people from all walks of life socialising together with no tension. Partly due to the scented cigarettes that drift through the pub. Excellent pub to watch football with its large screen. It's one of the biggest pubs in the area with a larger room that hosts comedy nights and club nights. In the summer, the beer garden is packed with friendly locals. Situated on a nice road close to Brockwell Park, this pub is definitely worth the visit.”

“The staff are rude, the soft drinks are watered down, and the food is so-so. It's only plus point is, that most of the time, it's not jammed packed with loud trader-types, so you can almost always get a seat.”

“It's a pub. Definitely a pub. It's not a bar. The food's adequate pub food. I generally don't eat there though cos it's a pub. I like pubs, you can have a drink in a pub on your tod and nobody cares. The music in here is usually quite good aswell, though sometimes difficult to hear. You can get a seat in there after school on pretty much any day of the week. Oh and at the moment, you can get a pint of Kroney for £2.50.”

“very dark pub frequented by lunchers who do not want to eat, sit there just drinking diet coke taking up space. Only redemption is the quality of the food. take a look up at the balcony next time and give the people there a wave”

The Watershed, Wimbledon (Bar)
“I went to the laughing horse comedy night hosted by the Watershed on a Friday and now almost reluctant to tell people about this little gem! Sleek, urban venue, with a brilliant compare and a line up of funny comediens, topped off with special offers on drinks, you can't really go wrong. Bar turns into a club after the gig with two rooms catering for a variety of tastes, so the fun and frolicks can carry on!”

Bradley's Spanish Bar, Fitzrovia (Bar)
“Very small, dingy and a bit tatty, yet strangely this is one of the better bars in the west end. Decorated in the best 1960s Benedorm cheese I've seen in a long while the bull flighting and flamenco posters add an atmospheric something which other tiny scruffy pubs lack. Sounds dreadful but it is more than made up for by a great premium lager/pils selection and a fantastic jukebox. The endless stream of Brazillian bar maids are an attraction as well. One down side, the food really isn't great, so don't bother.”

“The Abbeville has quickly become an establishment, serving fine food and ale. The Landlord is a warm, friendly jovial character who obviously loves his job. Timothy Taylor served with delicious roasts on Sunday Great atmosphere, good for private parties on mezzanine.”

The Sun & Doves, Peckham & Camberwell (Bar / Restaurant)
“In an area that is increasingly becoming overrun by 'fashionable' bars, the sun and doves remains a real haven in Camberwell. The food is excellent, the staff friendly, the cocktails amazing. At the moment there is some inspired art on the walls, and the music's always good. A real gem.”

“A relaxed, friendly bar with good music, feels less "chainy" than other places nearby. The cocktails are good and the bar staff were friendly- well my friend managed to blag a free drink from one anyway! The bar snacks were good although portions not that generous. This will definitely become a favourite West End venue.”

Picture of The Phene, Chelsea, London

The Phene, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“Frankly I am bemused by the people who think this atrocity is an improvement on the old Phene. Previously the Phene had a Minder-esque charm and curiosity factor that made it a special place in punter's hearts - now it is the sort of place that is only frequented by affected, joyless losers who think plasma screens and grey poufs somehow translate into sophistication. I have no problem with cocktail bars on the King's Road or Soho but to construct a cocktail bar in a room that is 20 foot by 20 foot in the heart of residential Chelsea boggles the mind. I'm not worried though, it will only be a matter of months before the management will realise that people would rather a pint and some good cheer on a monday evening rather than Sex On The Beach with the sort of people who think owning an Audi TT makes them better lovers!”

Zebrano Carnaby, West End (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Zebrano looks promising (interesting decor, DJ booth, long cocktails menu) but sadly doesn't deliver. Cocktails, mainly of the "raunchy named" variety, badly made. Unhappy bar staff. And doormen and a bar manager who think they're working in a private members in Belgravia, not a bar in Soho. Avoid, there's plenty of choice in the local area.”

The Phene, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“I went here last week and reading these reviews I can't believe that we all went to the same place. Although some of the reviewers are so illiterate that I find it hard to believe they were old enough to get served anywhere. 'If you're after a pint go somewhere else' is a weird plug for a pub. It's not terrible, it's just really bland. And quite pricey. I mean there was nothing much to say about it beyond that. What do you want? It's a Chelsea pub - they're all bland. Gee whizz calm down people.”
