Friendly and knowledeable staff, fantastic winter main courses and two of my favourite foods combined in a dessert - marmalade and custard in the bread and butter pudding. And the lamb! Is it because they... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

“It's all about the location and the decor in this place. It's a bugger to find but as it's right next to the river, it's a great place to bask in the Thames-side sun in the summer (or shack up inside with a roast in the winter). It's bright, and airy and absolutely massive, with loads of different seating options to keep all and sundry happy. I came hear with a couple of Irish lasses and we ordered a bottle of Malbec and had one of the funniest nights of our lives. A really chatty kind of place.”

“What a find this place is. I never really knew about it until I went to see The Filthy Dukes play live there. It's set up in such a way so that everyone gets to see the stage with lots of different levels for people to stand, or rave on. The bar is a bit of a scrum and the cloakroom is a joke (leave the coat at home) but there's plenty of room in a gig and the sound system is fairly decent.”

The Ice Wharf, Camden (Bar / Restaurant)
“During the summer I can see this being a hot bed of activity what with such an expansive outdoors area right next to the canal. During the winter months though, it's just a good place to meet up for some cheap booze (good guest ales on tap) before nipping off to Dingwalls or Proud Camden for a gig.”

Wahaca, Shepherds Bush (Restaurant)
“Brilliant! Simply brilliant. This chain has been winning award ever since it arrived in London and it's easy to tell why. It's the whole experience of the restaurant that real draws you in. Even down to the little touches like creating it's own mini-magazine and handing out chilli seeds for customers to take home. The variety on the menu is mind blowing with Mexican street food made the way it's supposed to be made. True value for money. The pork scratchings are SO addictive too.”

“The food is pretty fabulous but the real reason for coming here is the view. One of the best restaurants on the Thames.”

“I've just organised my birthday party in this pub (last Saturday) and everybody agreed it was an absolutely fantastic venue. Not only is the back room absolutely HUGE with enough space for a DJ table, a big dance floor and about 6 sofas but there is also a semi-separated dinner room with view on the "dance floor" and two doors to the heated back garden for smokers. I had about 50 guests from a lot of different nationalities, but mostly French, so possibly picky on the food, and they all thought the food was amazing and were surprised by the good deal offered to us by the manager (around £16 for a 3-courses meal !!) The staff was fantastic too, before the event (when organising) as much as during the event: available, really really nice, reliable and very helpful (even after closing time, 1:30 pm, when unfortunately one of my friends had a bit too much alcohol…). Also, because it is not on the High Street, it is very easy to park all around and although a bit far from the tube station, the 337 and 430 buses stops just at the front. So in a Nutshell: This venue is fantastic for parties and some of my guests are already talking about organising their own parties there very soon.”

“Sure the waiters are a bit curt with everyone but if your restaurant was as busy and popular as this one every day of the week you'd need to be on your toes. There's one reason and one reason for coming here: the food. A true classic, a must-do for any Indian food lover. I recommend the korma.”

“Quite an astonishing change to what this bar was before. They must've spent a packet on the redesign. It's full-on Pacificana. Great cocktail selection and they really go to town on the showmanship. An obvious magnet for IT girls and guys alike. And maybe the odd celebrity. Tunes are a bit cheesey though.”

“Excellent food in a very cool setting. Seating is at a premium pretty much all of the time so I suggest taking a trip downstairs to the bright refurbished dining room. A tad on the expensive treat but a true off-the-beaten-track treat.”

“OK so it might be a bit on the quiet side and it might be in an area of town that isn't the easiest to get to but my goodness what a cool restaurant. The great canal setting makes for a perfect summer restaurant and the Dim Sum is phenomenal. And so cheap too!”

“I recently visited this place on a casual date and have to say I was really impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere lively (but intimate) and it was all topped off with possibly the friendliest staff this side of the river. They are attentive but not in your face constantly and helpful with menu suggestions etc. While the venue's moody lighting teamed with candles on every table sets a nice atmosphere. I'd certainly go back.”

“A large group went here for a colleagues leaving doo, and I have to say it was possibly one of the worst places I have ever been to. The drinks were hugely over priced and changed everytime we went up to the bar. The food was again a waste of money, as a group of 20 we ordered enough for everyone or so we thought, when it came up there was hardly any food on the plate! Finally the atmosphere was dull, not lively at all. Overall a waste of money and a rubbish night, we left after just over 1 hour. I would not recommend anyone to go here if you are looking for a good night.”

"Great experience, anyone who has memories of old London will get this, be prepared to be fleeced, by girls who are in fairness trying to earn a living, that involves showing you their fanny." Which venue is this?
