“Liked this place very much. Very friendly atmosphere and interesting crowd. From Chinese hipsters to guys making out, everybody seemed to be friendly and unpretentious. Had acceptable table service upstairs and attractive bar staff mixed really good cocktails. I did not like the guy manning the tiny mensroom and the pressure to tip him as he offers towels and perfume, but I would still strongly recommend this place. Paid £10 to get in on a busy night.”

“Refurb good, just looks the same but full of silver. Atmosphere has completely disappeared, as regulars no longer come here. Staff incredibly ill-mannered, prices average.”

“I found PMD via a Google search and have loved it ever since. My workplace had our Christmas Night Out there this month. Whether I have been there with my partner, family, friends or the Christmas party of 18, the food and service has always been faultless. Our Christmas "do" was exceptional and Kevin and his team made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Everyone had 3 courses and the veggies amongst us were well catered for. We had so many different dishes between us and not one person had cause for complaint. We loved the food and left with very full, well satisfied tummies! Drinks were chilled to perfection and the service was efficient and unintrusive. Cost per person was unbelievably good - circa £31 for 3 courses, beer, wine, water and freshly squeezed OJ, tea/coffee and sweeties (fantastic) and this also included the service charge! We had the rear of the restaurant all to ourselves and it was decorated beautifully - party poppers and Christmas crackers gave a party feel to it all and we even had a welcome glass of Bucks Fizz. Background music well chosen. Excellent excellent restaurant in every way. Oh, and the audio Fawlty Towers episodes in the loos are always amusing). Please don't go there though. I won't be able to book at short notice if it becomes too popular!”

“The worst service I have had in ages. It is restaurants like this that make me wish I had stuck to Thai Pot or Wagamama. We spoke to the manager about the dish we ordered which was headed on the menu as a noodle dish but had about a tablespoon of noodles in it. It looked like a xmas dinner with gravy poured on it and did not taste dissimilar. The way the management handled the complaint was unsatisfactory, they couldnt have cared less that 2 of a group of paying customers were not happy with their meal. Will not go here again.”

“The refurbishment has made this look and feel a lot better, but the service was terrible. The sour-faced woman behind the bar brought the wrong food order, didn't refund the difference (we were asked to pay upon ordering), never asked how the food was or whether we wanted someone else, and when we asked for water, she slammed the glass down on the counter and shouted out, "Water!" I accept this is pub food, not a full-service restaurant, but that's no excuse for unfriendly service. The food was OK but, strangely, the chef sprinkled pepper all around the edge of the plates as well as in the food. ”

“Never again. Went there for lunch with work. Booked a reservation with deposit to then find out that they hadn't reserved a table for the day and time requested but they were just holding our card details for god knows what reason. Eventually we managed to sit down to see that the majority of the glasses were covered in lipstick marks, obviously not been washed at all. On top of everything when my clam chowder came, the bread served with it was covered in green mould. And I believe the clams were off. Do yourself a favour, don't ever go there!”

“I had to wait 1 hour for the main course, only to get really low quality food. When I complained to the manager, he was rude and dismissive. The chef even came out of the kitchen to greet me with a 'am really pissed off' comment, not understanding how anybody could complain about burnt vegetables.”

“I know london - I've lived here for 25 years. I am also a member of a real ale association in the UK. Wild horses wouldn't drag me back to this pub. The bar staff are the most disagreeable people I have ever had the misfortune to come across and the least friendliest in London (ever). Give this one a miss......expensive, full of people you would not want to share a rail carriage with and surly and poor ambience. Don't be fooled by the warming facade........”

“Went to the Bridge Lounge last Sunday for lunch and have to say it was pretty good. My only surprise was how quiet it seemed to be but then I guess most people would have been out Christmas shopping. New owners and the Camel (RIP) is no more. Definitely worth a look.”

“Beloved of minor media figures for its knowing unpretentiousness, it's tiny, usually full, but genuinely friendly and entirely lacking the industrial conveyor belt feel of so many other drinking places. Prices are sane and the staff usually charming.”

Firehouse, Kensington (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“A group of us went to the Firehouse after our office party which was held in the Science Museum. The doorman was unbelievably rude to my partner and I. It was raining and chilly and yet he threatened not to let us in unless we put our umbrellas down. By the time we were let in, I was soaked through to the skin in my party wear, and all my makeup had run - I felt completely humiliated, not to mention poorly for the last 2 days as a result. I spoke to a man inside who claimed to be the general manager and he was equally as rude and couldn't have cared less about the appalling attitude of the doorman. Needless to say I did not part with the £15 entrance fee. What a horrid bunch of people that run that establishment.”

“I love this club; it's blagclubs only basement and its like a salubrious bunker. Good sound system, good tunes and always a club full of parties, so you are amongst numerous celebrations! I booked in with 30 friends and had a cracker of a birthday. Get involved & get down there!”

“All Bar One gained the top prize for the Rough Guide to disability friendly and accessible venues in London and then immediately swapped many of their tables for bar stools, as if they didn't want to be know as the crip café. Their staff are always very sweet but they only last a month or two and then get replaced, so there is no continuity for us disabled people hoping to find a place to relax, socialise, eat and drink where they can depend on the staff knowing them.”

“This place is amazing. We have been back several times and we are yet to be disappointed. The food is lush, the staff are not only friendly but have an impressive knowledge of EVERYTHING they serve.... and the desserts - well they are just to die for!! They have the perfect mix of everything and I would highly recommend to anyone.”
