“We found this place just a short walk from our hotel, we ate in the evening and the restaurant was heaving with customers which tells you how popular it is. The atmosphere was full of energy of people who enjoyed good authentic italian food. Most of the people were having pizza and pasta dishes for the sake of time but we were not in any hurry so i had the sea bass which took abit more time but was definitely worth the wait, it was the best i've had, cooked simply with herbs and sitting on a very delicate lemon sauce absolutely scrummy! My wife and i were so impressed we went there for lunch the following day which was much quieter and had a nice chat with staff who were very friendly and on top of all that the prices were very reasonable for London, i would recommend it to anyone. I shall make a point of visitng it next time i'm in London.”

The White Hart, West End (Bar)
“A lively family owned pub smack-bang in the middle of London's Theatreland, and has become a favoured haunt of cast and crew of many of the nearby Westend shows. Good staff, who are both friendly on the eye, and to speak to. The food & drinks are averagedly priced for the area, the food always of a high standard, with daily specials. The venue now has a late licence on Friday and Saturday nights, and they have just added a TV in the back of the pub for the World Cup.”

“This has got to be one of the worst nightclubs in London, aggressive security, rude non-english speaking inarticulate barstaff. A horrible mix of russian music (eeek!) and 70s pop crud, which gives you an idea of what conflicting rubbish is played there. I really can't understand how a place like this can remian open when there are sooo many superior properly run and managed nightclubs and bars in London. Don't waste your time and money being abused and disappointed, find somewhere else to party where they have quality nights, a good sound system, and know how to treat people right. What a sad excuse for a nightclub!!”

“Bit smokey in the pub part (even when not busy). Could do with some decent extractor fans. However head straight for the dining room and enjoy. Magnificent food with flair. Pleasant staff. Can't speak highly enough of this place. Surf and Turf is a winner.”

Thirst, Soho (Bar)
“I totally disagree with Adam´s review. Thirst is an intimate club, playing fantastic house music, crowded yes, but surely thats a sign of a good venue? I´d much rather go somewhere with atmosphere and plenty of people having a good time than a crappy overpriced bar with 5 people in it. If you want a quiet drink without having to shout then don´t go to a club, find yourself a nice candlelit romantic bar where you can cosy up. I´ve been to Thirst many many times, always had a great night, and have never seen a fight. Besides, it´s central London with people drinking, what do you expect???? Yes bars and clubs come and go, but to the best of my knowledge Thirst has been banging out the tunes and serving the best cocktails in central london for a few years now - not the sign of a failing bar. Highly recommended to everyone, you´ll have a great night, and hopefully people like Adam won´t be there to spoil it!!!”

Locale, Waterloo (Bar / Restaurant)
“At the end of a long day in London, my party looked forward to a decent Italian meal. We like Italian food... as cooked in Italy... by Italians. Loco Mensa seemed chaotic - our table was not ready, our drinks order was messed up. We upgraded (and paid for) our children to have an adult meal - they were served miniscule portions of pizza from the childrens menu. The pizza was bland. Eventually... after the children had finished their meal (didn't take long!) our main course arrived. My spag bol (all six forkfuls) was tasteless (I've had better out of a can!). Again the waiter got the order wrong and the meal was delayed. Portions were tiny. There was no bread. The desert was ordinary and small. The Resturant was hot. All in all it was a relief to leave. Our first priority on the way home... to get a decent meal!!!! Value for money? you must be joking! Kings new clothes syndrome I'm afraid!”

“This pub has had a great transformation! Forward thinking, helpful staff, great menu, superb outside area with live music. Recently been taken over and revamped, worth checking out if you are in the area, if only all gastro pubs had this personal touch.”

“Don't go here if you are not used to exceptional service, great cocktails, an amazing selection of spirits and competent staff. I suppose that's what you pay for in this expansive beautiful looking dj bar. Had a great time here - it's not a pub!”

Bertie's Bar, Kensington (Bar / Hotel)
“A great addition to Kensington's bar scene. The bar is located off the lobby of the Royal Garden Hotel and is superb for people watching - in just an hour we saw several soap and sports stars coming and going! Really wide drinks choice and good unobtrusive service, so nice not queue at the bar and prices were still competitive. Well worth a try and much better than anything else on offer in Kensington.”

The Pineapple, Kentish Town (Bar)
“Pineapple is a great local bar that hosts one of the best pub quizzes in London. Monday 8:30 - 10:00 quizmaster Paul tortures a group of regulars and others who vie for a pot that typically runs between 70 - 90 pounds. Runners up get a free round on the house. During the day, the pub hosts a bevvy of regulars who prop up the bar and in warm summer evenings, the back garden is full of after-work types drinking gallons of lager and white wine. Sundays are host to a BBQ that is pretty inexpensive for what you get. There's a small restaurant upstairs that serves pretty good, if typical, gastro-grub. Be careful when ordering food downstairs. I've had to wait over an hour for a plate of hummous. Cooked dishes can sometimes take longer, only to find out a couple hours after you ordered that a) the kitchen is now closed or b) they are out of whatever you ordered. Bar staff are not the most efficient in the world and you sometimes have to fight the urge to jump back there to help out when it's taking 15 minutes to get a pint when there are 3 people behind the bar and only 2 in front of it. Basically, a great local boozer with a ton of class (and pineapples).”

The Jolly Anglers, Wood Green & Palmers Green (Bar)
“Heard about this pub on my travels and decided to give it a go. Glad i did. Very very clean, reasonably priced drinks that wont break the bank, large area for 2 pool tables, lovely beer garden, very polite and experienced staff who dont look at you like you've got three heads when you ask for something other than lager or bitter! Upon inspection of the toilets, myself and my friend (a male) both came out nodding approvingly! exceptionaly clean and well maintained. And last but by no means least, the food is 'excellent'!, none of your tinned carrot stuff. All freshly prepared, this reflects in the taste and high standard. This pub will continue to do well, i'll 'definitely' go back in the very near future. Well done to the manager and his staff. ”

Cabbage Patch, Twickenham (Bar)
“The Patch used to be good but gone down in recent times. Good atmosphere for rugby but rest of the time overpriced, ignored by staff, and charge extortionate amounts to go to the tiny nightclub above the pub. ”

“retoxbar is a lot smaller than I would have imagined but had a great buzz about it. It was so nice to be able to see the whole bar and not get lost from your friends. I had heard great things about the cocktails here and was not disappointed. The food was excellent too, we all enjoyed the sausages on the meat platter especially. The only real downside to the bar is the staff, they seem to spend too long talking to people behind the "door" and not enough looking after the customers. We had to wait a long time for our drinks despite it not being that busy. All in all we will be back though, a great venue for cocktails and to be able to get a seat! Anna x”
