“If you have just been round Battersea park or are shopping on the Kings Road then this is not a bad place to stop for some refreshment. It looks good from the outside and is warm on the inside. (Always a winning combination ladies...) Beers at £2.50 a pint are good value.) The only down side of my visit was spotting someone from Fame Academy, which if totally sober would be enough to put me off my drink. Apart from this nasty little surprise I''d go again.”

“I don''t get what all the fuss is about. It''s tiny, dingy and wanky. Don''t bother trying to find the "so cool it''s not even labelled" door. Go to one of the other nearby bars where people actually have personalities...”

“I really like this place. You need to book to get in, but this is not so that you can feel privilege in the sense "hey I've got a table I'm important" but so you can guarantee that you can sit down and relax unlike most of the pubs/bars within the area. You also need to understand how the different floors operate to get the atmosphere you want. The bottom floor is for large groups, the ground floor is for smaller groups and the top floor is mainly for couples, it’s a lot quieter in the red room. So depending on what you want that night depends on the floor. The cocktails are excellent, great value for money, the staff are friendly but at can be over worked if large groups have arrived, have you noticed how we seem to all go out around the same time?!! So at times the service can be slow but it’s worth it. Relax, don't go with the assumption you can click your fingers and get what you want - that's directed at you media wanna be''s. Ok, the food is not that great, it should stick to drinks, but then it’s really not set up to be somewhere were you can eat. so my 5/5 is directed at the cocktails. Try the ''Daisys'', they are fantastic”

Thirst, Soho (Bar)
“I decided to go to thirst for my birthday. After much polava getting on the guest list I was told that every person in my party was to bring confirmation. When we arrived we werent even asked for our names! its terribly small and was so packed I could not move ! I complained to the bouncers that this was dangerous and there should be a restriction. My friends all left as they felt so claustaphobic. This ruined my birthday and I would never go back and would advise any one strongly against visiting.”

“Specialists in putting off the customers. While in London, doing a report on the attractions for the paper I work for, I stumbled onto the pub and had my Guiness with a great pleasure. Returned on the same day and ate well, too. The following day, though, with some vacant tables upstairs, where I sat during both visits, me and a friend were told to have our beers downstairs. There was no seat to take. Off into the cold. Goodbye ''The Wellington'' - for ever...”

“the Blue Anchor is the sister pub to the Old Ship, the Anchor is just of Chancery Lane, down Rolls Passage. Serve standard pub food, staff are friendly and real beer is typical London - very average. Nice place - very popular with surrounding offices.”

“not sure what the other reviews are going on about? bet they''d never came here when it was the bedford arms - that was an awful pub! the clapham north is such a massive improvement. Food is great, cocktails are awesome and staff are cool. if you live in around this part of clapham then you can''t go wrong with this pub.”

Beduin, City of London (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“this is a lovely venue but the service and staff attitude ruins the atmosphere. the staff seemed incredulous that I had booked for 10 but (horror of all horrors) there were actually 11 of us due to an extra person turning up. we were made to move downstairs to a far inferior table. we were also told off for the heinous crimes of putting a few bags/coats on our seating and moving a spare stool from another table. What made it worse was the hard sell of drinks all night, with waitresses appearing at your elbow when you''d barely sipped from a drink and the tequila girl piling the pressure on to buy shots. I think this is a disgrace considering my friends and I were happily spending £25+ per head - it feels like you are having money wrung out of you.”

Piano, Kensington (Bar / Restaurant)
“I regularly fly into London on business and would not miss a chance to be at The Piano Bar. The change of venue from the previous location across the way is like night & day. First of all, now that they have their own kitchen, the food is superb. As for entertainment, I can''t say enough about Bazz and his ability to draw a crowd. On the occassion where we were fortunate to hear Bazz''s wife Moya sing, the entire room came to a complete stop and behaved like a proper audience at a West End performance. The professional bartender(ess) staff knows their mixology. Great Martini''s great food, great entertainment and great fun. I saw a single girl, strange to the city come in one night only to return the following night because she felt quite at home. You don''t have to be a "regular" to enjoy The Piano Bar at High Street Kensington! Five Stars Across the Board....Cheers!”

The Triangle Bar & Restaurant, Finsbury Park (Bar / Restaurant)
“Although this place seems to be in the middle of nowhere it is definately worth finding it. It is a beautiful yet decadent Moroccan style restaurant/bar. Wonderful decor including interesting things on walls/ceiling to look at (rugs, porcelain heads etc) it also has a small cave like area at the back full of cushions and low tables. Almost all the light is from hundreds of candles in the walls and on the tables which casts an atmospheric glow over the whole venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food looked varied and amazing (although I didn''''t eat dinner there), they serve simple cocktails and have a good selection of wine. This place is perfect for couples or friends to enjoy a spicy evening out.”

“The place to be seen in the city. Good for a few drinks after work, very elite clientele, and those trying to impress. Beware the multitude of female gold diggers though.”

“The revamp has completely changed the Freemasons. Great atmosphere with a strong mixed modern menu. I have been a couple of times since they reopened and while there were a few serving hiccoughs first time, this has improved and the staff are good and friendly. not cheap for a gastropub experience but worth it. finally hampstead gets a proper decent pub. the new outside area will be great (and no doubt busy) in the summer too.”

Zero Degrees, Blackheath & Eltham (Bar / Restaurant)
“I like this bar, it''s by far the nicest place to drink in Blackheath. The pizzas are great, although I wouldn''t agree that it''s a good place to go for a romantic meal - it''s got a cold, industrial feel to it.”
