Quebec 12 Old Quebec Street, Marble Arch, London, W1H 7AF (Map)

Very friendly bar staff, quick to serve, not standing around preening as in other bars, which seems to be the current trend in other less conducive places. Good atmosphere, as I visisted Quebec on a Monday... More Atmosphere: Value: Quality:

Funky Munky, Peckham & Camberwell (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“2-4-1 cocktails between 5pm and 7pm every week day are a must, the menu has recently been updated and there are some real gems on the list. Pizzas and burgers are excelllent and terribly good value, although don't expect more that that! Burgers cost from £4 and chips are £2. The friday night DJ (open til 2) is awesome if you love mo-town & soul, the crowd is excellent and jovial - but do watch your bags - sometimes joviality spills over into petty crime. Overall, Funky Munky is one of my favourite camberwell bars/pubs - jolly good at almost any time, be it early evening cocktails or late night dancing. Have your wits about you though - i don't want to make it sound like a crime den - but caution is advised. Don't let it put you off though - it hasn't me!”

The Green, Clerkenwell (Bar / Restaurant)
“A really lovely pub - a great place to be at anytime but especially special on sunday when they serve the best roasts (and veggie roasts) in London and have live music every other weekend. Some of the best food I've ever had in a gorgeous and unpretentious atmosphere - great bloody marys too!”

“Be careful of cheapskates. We went in a group of maybe 10 friends last night - my boyfriend came to meet us later on his own. He was stopped at the door - asked whether he was gay or straight, then asked to step aside and wait for 30minutes or so. When he was finally let in he was charged £10, and humiliated in front of other clubbers when a doorman screamed out 'this one's a gay' to everyone and then proceeded to ask whether he was male or female. At the end of the night when we politely asked if there was someone we could report this to - we were basically shouted down and told to get own. And all this in soho... nice”

The Kings Arms, Fulham (Bar)
“Stopped in Finches (on the Fulham Rd) after Stamford Bridge on my way to Victoria. Thought the bar was cool with none of the hassle found in a lot of London bars. Staff were friendly and the beer was reasonably priced. As they say in Belfast - 'not a bad wee spot'.”

“What a fantastic club. Not my normal scenery but was very impressed by the diversity and everyone was enjoying themself. This was my first time and will be going again most definitely. There were no faults which I could point out with this club.”

“Great local pub - friendly staff, good food & wine, real ales. Nice mix of old regulars and younger crowd. There's a fire in the winter, sit outside in the summer.”

Indian Flavours & Mosquito Bar, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant)
“There is nothing stereotypical about Indian Flavours, its very much liked, its very relaxed, very cool & funky (without being cool & funky). Its firmly on the Clapham map. The late closing times (Mon-Sun, 5am) are a magnet for bar & restaurant workers and late drinkers. There is no dj but the music is great (pop, disco, RnB & funky house). There's alway new people and its so friendly its contagious.”

Galvin at Windows, Mayfair (Bar / Restaurant / Hotel)
“Smart, sophisticated and classy are only a few words to describe this place - Windows is a truly great bar. This is the best location over London with the twinkle view at night. Great cocktail list with a refreshing team to make you fell welcome, the only disappointment is they have no Live music.”

Indian Flavours & Mosquito Bar, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant)
“Having just had one of the best nights out in recent months, Indian Flavours is an exceptional place. A total revelation to a enjoyable evening. Very under rated in the minds of people who have no idea! This place is like a fairy story for grown-ups. The people that come here are a mix bag of characters all very friendly with one thing on their mind - "an enjoyable night out".”

The Woolpack, London Bridge & Bermondsey (Bar)
“There aren't very many decent bars in this area (its great for restaurants) this has a big paved garden at the back. Mixed, cool crowd of after work drinkers. I've tried virtually every bar in this area, this is definitely the best.”

The Barracuda, Ealing (Bar / Club)
“I went here last Friday after not having been there for months. Having enjoyed it in the past with friends we thought we'd have a local night out and go somewhere cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately they only had one person behind the bar all evening and that was the woman who owns the place, she was stroppy as anything and people were getting really ratty having to wait so long and she had no clue as to who was waiting before others. I won't be going back there for a while and neither will my mates. Why can't they afford to pay staff? She kept saying 2 people called in sick. So why would you only have 3 bar staff on a Friday night in a nightclub? As usual the DJ played the same old records time and time again and had no mic so couldn't wish anyone a happy birthday! 3 bouncers at the door doing practically nothing all evening apart from telling folk where to smoke, i.e. "you can't smoke here, go over there" like the gestapo, it aint 1st July yet boys! ”

So Bar Richmond, Richmond & Kew (Bar)
“Love So Bar. Go about once a month and the cocktails are always fab. Service is good too. Lack of seats are a pain but better than any of the horrible chain pubs in Richmond. Takeaway cocktails in the summer are also great. Long may it live and serve!”
