“Sunday Lunch was fantastic, ubercool vibe and the lunch was great with such a large choice we opted for the traditional Roast and it was good value. The Bitter was perfect and the wine list was fair and a lot of choice by the glass.”

“Great, friendly pub with a chilled atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and quality, value for money food. Ideal place to catch up with friends, have a Sunday lunch at or go to the weekend (open till late). I feel very lucky to have this as a local (the extra 5 minutes walk for me is worth it! :-) ”

“Style, class, great drinks and service! What more could you ask for! This bar has made me visit Notting Hill more often. It always promises a great night without the pretentious atmosphere that this area normally holds. I love the seating areas and the built in ice buckets, nice touch! I was very impressed with the cocktail list and the presentation/passion that goes into making every drink; these guys clearly know what they are doing! If you haven't been already I would recommend The Westbourne House for any special night out! ”

“Not a good choice. The landlady is one of the most awful people I've had the misfortune to meet. There seems to be a real lack of attention to the customer. The bar staff come across as uncommunicative and grubby, with the chef looking distinctly unclean! There are much better pubs in the area - try those instead!”

B'lo, Chelsea (Bar)
“Any bar that charges a different price for the same drink every time you buy one is a bar to avoid. B'Lo is no exception to that rule. This venue was hired for a private party but the stated capacity of 140 probably includes the outdoors smoking area as there is no way 140 people could fit in there and be able to move or breathe. The quality of the drinks they were serving was such that half the party had left by 11pm. Dont be fooled by the Finlandia labels on the Vodka bottles -this stuff was enough to bring a number of seasoned drinkers to their knees (in front of the porcelain that is). Speaking of porcelain - the toilets are unisex and staffed by a guy who jumps on you, soap in hand, as soon as you have figured out how to open the cubicle door (look, no handles!) Reading the reviews on here it seems that this place has gone downhill quite a lot since 2004. I'm giving them 3 stars for the good and friendly attitude of the door staff and the generally relaxed atmosphere. We supplied our own DJ who was worth 5 stars on his own :) There are many good bars on the Fulham Road - in my opinion, B'Lo is not one of them. ”

“Love this place. I know several locals don't like the transformation of the Red Lion but I think they are just the types of people who like to complain for the sake of it. The new owner (independant) is a top bloke called Heath, who has spent vast sums of money and much time turning this from a 'traditional' (run down) pub in to a beautiful family friendly pub for the 21st century. It retains it's old day charm (wood panneling, open fires, edwardian paint colours) but offers a bright clean environment to meet friends and enjoy yourselves. They have 2 great beer gardens ideal for summer and open fires to make it cosy in winter. Great food, all prepared by several full time chefs AND (best of all) a late license.”

Gazette Brasserie, Battersea (Bar / Restaurant)
“Overall a very disappointing experience. Having read some reviews I thought it worth trying. However I was very disappointed by the grubbiness of the glass table over the rustic oven. What could have been quite fun was overshadowed by the dirtiness of it. Especially when one was expected to use it for one's bread! The food was very sub-standard. The bread was doughy and had a rancid taste. The chips tasted as if they'd been cooked in years old oil and were inedible as were the dishes of spinach and mushrooms, both of which had an overpowering taste of burnt garlic. The bavette was overly salted and the steak was over-cooked and tough. As to the presentation, my prawn starter arrived in what at first appeared to be a tupperware container but turned out to be a pressed glass jar whipped straight from the fridge and plonked on the table. Two starters were served in Le Creuset saucepans from which it was difficult to eat. The wine, while very nice, was decanted at the table in an over-elaborate procedure which resulted in much spillage. It seemed out of place with the rest of the restaurant's theme. In fact the overall impression was one of schizophrenia as they clearly weren't sure if they wanted be rustic french or chic sophisticated. The price would have been just passable had the food and service not been lamentably below par.”

“A perfect little neighbourhood French bistro; great food, friendly service & a very welcoming atmosphere. French standards like moules, steak frites & oysters are all down with care & no pretension.”

“I searched for ages to book my girlfriend into a nice place for her Birthday lunch and came across Moomba Bar & Kitchen... from the moment Ritu called me back (within 10 minutes of emailing) I knew I had found a great place. Prior to our arrival she was in constant contact to see if she could help in anyway.... getting balloons, ordering a cake and having it made etc. On Arrival we were seated very nicely toward the back, although it would have been marginally small for what we booked (15 people) we only had 10 which was perfect. Ritu had gone out of her way to decorate our table superbly and have some champagne on ice. Service was quick and Ritu was there to make sure everything was going okay. Food arrived in very good time and everyone loved the dishes (mainly a fantastic Beef Roast). Sunday Lunch menu is quite varied seemingly having an option for everyone Ritu played the perfect host making us all feel welcome and relaxed. We will certainly be visiting Moomba again in the near future.”

“The food at the Oxo Tower restaurant is amazing and the service is excellent. Had a brilliant night in the bar after the meal - you have to try the cocktails. The whole experience was very cosmopolitan!!”

“Thankfully a cool bar has opened in W2; there is every type of restaurant you can imagine in the area, but now somewhere happening to congregate before and after. The cocktails are great and the service wasn't bad considering how busy the place was. They have some nice seating areas for that 'date' evening, or a buzzing bar area for the night out with a group. I will be a regular haunt for me as it is a stones throw; plus it was full of great looking women!”

“Amazing! I live next door to this place and never get tired of it. Lovely atmosphree, fab cocktails, great people - plus the crowd is never overly rowdy so I never get woken up at kicking-out time. The staff are fantastically accommodating, too. Highly recommended.”

“This place is shocking, whether we just had a bad night or what i don't know. We had hired a booth as there was to be a few of us eating and drinking. We turned up to find out that the booth had been given to someone else as they were a larger party (more money in the coffers i guess) anyway, they apologised with a bottle of wine on the house, fair enough. So we continued, albeit now with two separate tables for our party, one which had a coffee table, hardly ideal for eating. We then ordered the food; starters and mains...in time we were informed of 4 things that were not available on the menu...on a saturday night of all nights, this too didn't go down too well. Then to add insult, the waiting staff, who's grasp of english wasn't the finest, bought out the whole meal, starters and mains, together...and tried to squeeze onto our little table...no chance. We complained again, and this time the manager decided to show up himself as opposed to him sending someone else. He apologised, but didn't offer anything like a solution, except re-heat the mains when we wanted them. He then trolled off, and returned with his bouncers...because he felt threatened by the tone of voice...big man, get the bouncers when three girls start to complain...how sweet. We then said forget it all, we'll finish our drinks and leave...to his reply of 'it doesn't work like that' came the cry. Our resident legal diner spouted off about statutory rights and fulfilling his contract blah blah,”

“A great pub with stacks of atmosphere at a superb riverside location. Hosting world class jazz since the sixties. 8 times a week, every week. Good choice of food including Thai and of course excellent Youngs Beer. Bar staff friendly and workmanlike, particularly in the Jazz room. If you are a Jazz fan don't miss the Bull's Head. Easy parking after 6pm.”
