The Round House, West End (Bar)
“Flew in to London to watch the Ashes in '09 and this was our first stop for the day after setting down our luggage in the hotel. I had the best beer I have ever had and believe I ever will have. It did everything a beer needed to do. It was refreshing, tasty and made my girlfriend seem bearable after several hours of losing our passports etc. continuosly. Thankyou Roundhouse. I will be back shortly. Please save me a seat.”

The Phene, Chelsea (Bar / Restaurant)
“Having attended the opening evening on Monday, I have been back for dinner and drinks every night this week! The Phene Arms is quite simply stunning. The beautifully furnished garden is a wonderful summer's evening suntrap, and the scrumptious food menu is perfect if you're looking for a big meal or a healthy light snack and smoothie.
Vegetarians and gluten frees etc are all wonderfully catered for. There is a deli on site, with lots of healthy food to take away or eat in, and a room with a huge screen showing world cup games. There is a different area for whatever kind of evening you're looking for. The crowd (it has always busy, but not unpleasantly crowded) is an elegant mix of all ages. The wine and beer choices are great and the cocktails are INCREDIBLE and the beautiful and charming owner Lily is usually around chatting to customers and making everyone feel so welcome and at home.
I could not recommend the newly reopened Phene Arms highly enough - there is nothing else quite like this charming venue.”

Elephant on the Hill, Clapham (Bar / Restaurant)
“I agree with the main review, Clapham is soooo dull, although I do really like this place, and it isn't a chain like most other places round there. Went on a Wednesday and it was a really quiet without being dull, nice place to have dinner on a summer's evening.”

Canal 125, Angel & Islington (Bar / Restaurant)
“I drink in Canal bar regularly after work and have made lots of friends doing so. They have San Miguel and Becks on tap which suits me fine but lately we've been having their Sangria which is wicked! I've eaten there a couple of times and then I had a Sunday roast there! OMG it was amazing!! Loads of food all topped off with a huge Yorkshire pudding and the best gravy I've ever tasted! There's an outside area overlooking the canal which is great when the weather is nice but you have to get in early when it is to get a seat. Upstairs is good to but there are often private parties. I really enjoy going there and can't recommend Sunday roast enough!!”

The Old Salt Quay, Canada Water & Rotherhithe (Bar / Restaurant)
“food is good for the money, but the drinks are a bit over the top, for a bottle of budwiser it is £3.40 and a glass of coke is £2.95. other than that it is ok.”

RS Lounge, Woodford & Chingford (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Absolute Joke - went there at 10.30pm on a Saturday night, entrance and a round of drinks for 2 people came to £30 all in and there were a grand total of 17 people in the club.
I can't understand any logical reason for the extortionate entry prices as there was absolutely no atmosphere.
Won't be heading back.”

The Troubadour, Kensington (Bar / Restaurant)
“A breath of fresh air (unless you are sat next to the smokers in the garden - can't we ban them from outside too??!) from the run of the mill gastro pubs all over london. Brilliant garden, quirkly rooms and bar area and an underground club hosting live music everynight! Definately worth a trip west and if you get off the OTHER end of the tube and take the rear exit from Earls Court, its a very short walk from the tube.”

Kensington Wine Rooms, Kensington (Bar / Restaurant)
“This place opened just over a year ago and has revitalised that strech of Ken Church Street. A great selection of wine by the glass (40?) and some top notch food, all at very reasonable prices, draws in the beautiful people from Notting Hill and Kensington, young and old. Apparently a second project from the same owners is in the offing.”

Barrio Soho, Soho (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“What a cool little venue. I like what they've done with the place. Very colourful, very inventive. The cocktail and beer menu is great too, covering all areas of the World nearly. It has a very Caribbean/South American vibe to it. And there are lots of hot girls there too. Definitely go back.”

Thalassa Restaurant & Bar, Enfield & Barnet (Bar / Restaurant)
“My daughter's hen night and WOW!! 18 of us from all over the country and not one complaint! Even those that don't usually like fish thoroughly enjoyed the fish meze. We all tried things we had never eaten before and quite a few have now been converted to eating fish! The atmosphere was just amazing, -if we lived nearer we would eat here every week. We ALL said we would try to re-visit. Thanks to all the staff for a very memorable evening! We could not have dined anywhere better.”

“I can honestly say this was one of if not the most awful meal I have ever had. It was early so no-one else there. Meals not served together and only two of use not a party.
