“Superb subterranean cabaret bar in a rather unlikely location of a loo under the Strand. Secluded and perfect for illicit affairs with bum shaped banquettes, kiss me/lick me bar stools, and the sexiest toilets around, this place oozes cool in a space barely bigger than your front room. The cocktails are fabulous, but the nightly live jazz is where CellarDoor really comes alive. Kitty La Roar and Nick of Time on Thursdays always get everyone going with crazy, mixed up renditions of grunge hits and swing classics.”

“The loop bar is like being in the tube at peak time except you just spent £25 for your ticket. The music is like being in my mate abduls fully sick car. And the atmoshpere is like the end of a disaster film. They don't respect you they don't respect themselves.”

“I had my 30th party in 64th and Social and it was a complete mess from the outset. I called the bar 4 times to confirm I had the night booked and never once got a confirmation e mail or phone call. The door man was an absolute arse who likes to throw his weight around who at first didn't want to let me into my own 30th Party as I did not have id. My brother in law spent over £1000 at the bar (alone) not inc what my other 40 guests spent and the door man still decided to try and throw him out for wearing a hat after the owner of the bar said that it was ok. I would never ever go to that bar again and would not recommend anyone using the venue for a special occasion.”

“We were celebrating a 50th Birthday, the staff were impeccably attentive and polite but unobtrusive, the food was sublime, I had kebab platter to start and the meat just melted in the mouth, my partner had soft shell crab and squid, she does not like things too hot and spicy and this was perfect for her. We followed this with the Roe deer and the fennel infused lamb chops. We had two bottles of the Slowine Cabernet Sauvingnon which was very nice indeed. For dessert we had the fennel bread and butter pudding with ginger and Armanac custard and the white chocolate mouse. When the staff realised we were celebrating they brought out a plate of petite fours with Happy Birthday piped in chocolate on the plate, Mr Kocher also came to our table and posed for a photo with my partner. Altogether this was a most enjoyable evening and dining experience and I fully intend to return to eat my way through the menu.”

Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, Bloomsbury (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“Having tried other bowling venues in london and we were keen to try out the bloomsbury place which has been much talked about. Overall the venue is a briliant concept and the 50's decor is spot on. If you are taking a group friends who have different ideas as to what makes a good night this is your venue. Loads to do. We went to bowl and ended up dancing, karaoking and eating a pretty good take on a new york pizza.”

The Windmill, Clapham (Bar / Hotel)
“After my previous bad experience, i decided: "come on, lets try their famous roast beef"; so i went there on a sunday. Took me 15 minutes to get the table when i saw a tabe empty and to be set up for almost ten minutes. The soup i had as a starter was nice but the roast beef... the meat was overcooked, dry, there were only 3 roast potatoes and 2 new potatoes, and the carrots and parsnips were like mash, like fod for a baby; and i waited almost 20minutes since i finished my soup until i get that main. Then the dessert, the chocolate fudge cake was floating in a sea of watered chocolate sauce, no taste of chocolate in the sauce at all. When i said about the sauce, i was told that "sauce can not be made thicker" how about, at least, more taste? So i paid and as i was leaving i decided to not come back again to this place, 2 times i went there, 2 times not succesfully as i expect, a shame.”

“Well I thought it was bloody hilarious! We went on a Wednesday, it was totally dead but we had a whail of a time hogging the mic, and had a total love affair with the background screen - picturesque landscapes and crabs graciously moving across the sand HA HA HA I can't wait to go back!”

Blacks, Soho (Bar / Club)
“Aside from the wonderful staff, the possibility of grabbing the harem like cushioned nook on the second floor, the fires and the candle-light, perhaps the highest and simplest recommendation for Blacks is that it's one of the very few places in central London (the only "late" place I know of) that one can have a civilised conversation in on a Friday or Saturday night - that is, seated, and conversing without shouting.”

“The best thing has to be the bikini beach band who play there very often and the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable. The barstaff are very friendly and having a conversation is very influential.”

“A shame, i was so expected about my visit to this famous pub... The pub looks stunning in decoration, but i reckon the staff were short, it took me more than 15 minutes to order a pint, on a Thursday evening when it was not really busy, there were only 3 waiting staff serving. Then i ordered food, prawns as a starter - too much chilli, couldn't finish off - too much chilli, then sausage and mash, well, the mash looked like brick, so dry, maybe made 3/5 days before, the onion gravy, however, was excellent. As desert i had ice cream, 3 small scoops served in a soup plate whitout any decoration; when i asked the waiter about it, he answered me in such a rude way "ice cream is served like that".. and then, when i was going to leave, i saw a kitchen guy with such a filthy uniform, no appron, walking through the pub, i just hope that guy is in no contact with the food at any time, his uniform was horrendous.”

Barrafina, Soho (Bar / Restaurant)
“I loved it. On arrival to the clean crisp un-Spanish-like interior we were greeted by a queue of about 4 or 5 couples waiting to be seated. Normally a queue before eating would be a pain, but we were quickly occupied by an attentive waiter offering us the wine list and advise on what to drink, along with an assessed waiting time. We decided to wait and I am very glad we did. Once seated the waiters answered our inquisitive questions about the menu and advised us which ones complemented each other. The first dishes arrived quickly and the staff kept good attention to know when to bring the next. Some of the best food I have had in ages. I will definitely be going back. 5 stars all round. ”

“I've been checking out barrio since it opened and it's really good to start seeing someone stepping up to the mark in islington and playing some good music. If you know anything about the Latin, funk, soul hip hop scene then you need to check this out, i've just seen on their website that they've hooked up with Mr. Bongo records from Brighton and the Breakin Bread guys, as a DJ myself i can safely say this is the choice for all you beat connoisseurs.”

Beach Blanket Babylon, Shoreditch (Bar / Restaurant)
“Utterly horrible! Staff all over the place, not an idea about service. The clientele are wannabe Shoreditch cool but not succeeding. In fact there are more staff than clients and I know why. Getting understood by the staff seems to be the major problem. I don't know about you but I don't go out with my friends to spend my time trying to make head or tails out of my meal and cocktails.Especially after the third attempt. Shoreditch definitely does not need a venue such as this when there are far better ones there already.”

“The so bar is great. I've been going there for years. The staff are friendly and make fine cocktails. Also the live bands are great too, with some world class musicians playing sophisticated music which sets it apart from every other bar in richmond.”

Murphis Karaoke Bar & Restaurant, City of London (Bar / Restaurant / Club)
“I was very disappointed with my night at Murphis. I was expecting it to be better than the average pub karaoke but it just felt like I was in someones house at a really bad party. The sound sytem was awful with what I can only describe as pan pipe music to every song and the choice of songs were poor. This place could be so good but I think the management aren't making the most of it. I won't be returning.”

Loved

"Hi guys, I come here with my friends and have very good time. I like your place very much and is very good times. I come back when I can soon. Thank you very much." Which venue is this?

Hated

"Dreadful pub, run by people who have zero idea about hospitality or running a pub. Upon arrival we sat in the back garden that only had one other table occupied , when we tried to order off the lunch menu..." Which venue is this?
