Alisan, Wembley (Bar / Restaurant)
“I’ve just had the worst restaurant experience in my entire life! I have been to Alisan three times before and the food and service was fine. This time my husband, my 2.5 year old and I didn’t even get a chance to order the food. A waiter came to take our order. I asked what ‘Young Chow’ rice was. ‘Mixed meat’, he said rather abruptly and got very annoyed when I asked which meats exactly. Turns out there was seafood too which my husband is allergic to! He finally took our order and I asked for jasmine tea to drink. My husband was about to ask for his drink but the guys grabbed the menus and rushed off. When I said ‘Excuse me, could you please get my husband a drink’, he got very annoyed and told me that he would come back for that. Seeing the shock in my facial expression, he came back, slammed the menus back on the table and asked looking at me ‘Yes, what do you want to drink then?’, like he was doing us the biggest favour ever! At this point, my husband said he wanted to leave. I asked whether I could speak to someone else but the waiter kept smiling and saying ‘Sorry, you feel this way’. He didn’t look sorry at all and wouldn’t call anyone else. I then said we were ready to go and the guy started moving the high chair with my daughter in it! Totally bizarre! I went to the counter at the entrance and asked to speak to the manager. The gentleman there said ‘No, he is the manager’ (smiling) and then both of them escorted us out!!! Oh my God! I am still in shock. I feel utterly humiliated. There is something definitely wrong with this guy as there is no possible explanation or justification for his behaviour. Please don't go to Alisan as this manager guy doesn't deserve his customers.”

“The manager here is one of those super friendly people who always has a smile on his face. And boy does he serve great coffee! This bar truly is a hidden gem of a bar. And the fact that it's in Shoreditch makes all the better. I love this bar.”

“Restaurant was ok, tables a bit too close together but the food was great. The Chef, however, obviously suffers from some insecurities – our table of 7 had finished the basket of yummy olive bread provided (before we had even ordered) and requested more but it never came. After our third attempt the embarrassed waiter basically said the chef would not let us have any more bread (in not so many words). I think he was scared we wouldn't eat his tiny portions of food! Disappointing considering we were paying customers.”

“Amazing night! Went for a few drinks after work last Friday and ended up staying all night. We were up in the Fruit Box which is like a garden-theme, which was nice while the sun was still about with the big windows and nice views. Later on we went a wander and ended up staying in Decadia most of the night - so much fun! The flashing dancefloor was ace, and the old school 90's music videos were playing on a massive screen too. We had a cocktail out of a rubiks cube and we danced with a man dressed as a monkey in a top hat - madness! Would definitely recommend this place - it's totally different from your usual west end club!”

“I held my birthday party at Imbibe on 7 May and would definitely recommend Sam and his team to anyone looking for a venue for something similar. It was superb! I had just over 100 guests and the Imbibe team did an awesome job and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the party. The bar looked fantastic; food at the bbq was top quality and it wouldn’t have been possible without the great team working on the night. Everyone has been commenting how great they all were so well done! All I can do is say ‘thanks’ once again for helping make my party such a huge success and I will be back for sure. Great job guys!”

“The place is let down by it's horrid, mean spirited staff and terrible, bland music. I visited on Saturday night with 7 friends for a friend's birthday party. Unfortunately I left feeling completely let down by the d.j's, the appalling music, and the general attitude of staff (aside from the bar staff who were actually very nice) who seemed to use any excuse to try and put a dampener on your night. My biggest beef with the place was , the mean spirited D.Js and the humourless, 'jobsworth' pool staff. The place is absolutely filled with tacky sorts of hen's parties from out of town chavvy types. It was my friend's birthday party and when I asked for the second lot of d.js who were playing to make a 'happy birthday' announcement of the mic, they refused with the unthinkable response that they 'don't use the mic' despite the fact that the d.j just on before them had made several announcements of hens parties and birthday parties. Those d.js in question were just mean spirited and up their own ar*ses, never before have I come across a more humourless, mean bunch of people - to not announce somebody's birthday - all of which would have taken them two seconds to do. Also, as soon as these guys were playing, the standard of the music went fastly downhill - turning the soul music into a washed out, vibe-less and unimaginative techno beat, which was bizarre given that the night was advertised as 'soul'. The guy manning the pool and the lifeguard are the most humourless and mean spirited sort of people (I had to beg to allow my fully clothed friend into the pool area to take a few pics) I mean c'mon management - your staff represent your club, if you hire mean spirited people who use any excuse to be heavy handed on your clubbers you will soon develop a bad reputation, and people will be reluctant to return. Hire cheerful, generous people and train them to have good customer service skills and you will develop a much better reputation. It's not brain surgery is it?”

“Went into The Golden Oven in Soho during the royal wedding holidays, very impressed with the whole evening. The staff, were brilliant and knowledgeable also quick to check with the chef when we said we had both nut and onion allergy sufferers dining. The food was fantastic, tasted very fresh, on a whole it was a great dining experience. Will visit again when back in London. (Group from Dublin).”

“The food at the Dial Arch (when it arrives) is very good. However they need double the amount of waiting staff. We visited last night, we seated and then ignored for 15 minutes. We decided to leave the restaurant area and have drinks and bar food. We had to wait close to 2 hours for our bar food, which consisted of pizza, garlic bread and crispy Squid. The Dial Arch good be fantastic but this is the 3rd time I have been and the service has been terrible.”
