Eastway, City of London (Bar / Restaurant / Hotel)
“Myself and 4 friends took advantage of a 3-course £15 fixed price menu when we booked here on Fluid London and we were very impressed with the results. My asparagus and parma ham starter was fresh, my sea bream was balanced out beautifully by some cauliflower cheese, and the pistachio nut dessert was not overly gluttonous. I felt just full enough. The service was quick too so as Eastway is right next to Liverpool Street station we were able to get home and dry before 9pm. Nice work Eastway and Fluid London!”

“I tried this place out one afternoon because it has free wifi. The service from the beautiful (authentic Italian) waitress was excellent and the food/coffee was of better quality than the price they were asking for it. A great deal during the day. It was extremely quiet though, but i did enjoy the ceremony of genuine Italians greeting and conversing with one another over and afternoon coffee. It felt like I was in Rome again.”

“You'd think the main reason to come here would be the impressive range of worldly beers but no, it's the food. Or both. Me and another beer-loving mate of mine thought we'd check it out for the ales and we weren't disappointed in that (the third pints are perfect for doing 'tasters') but we were amazed at the high standard of the food more than anything. Evidence of this was the amount of young ladies there who were drinking wine. Obviously they weren't there for the beer, so it must've been the food. Definitely worth the walk up Northcote Road. A true gem of a place that Clapham Junction was crying out.”

“My girlfriend and I found some special deals for The Compass (I think right here on Fluid) that gave us 50% off our meal. This was needed because it would've been quite an expensive dinner in the end without the discount. But although the prices were restaurant high, so was the quality of the food. Absolutely amazing! The beef was extraordinary. Follow by an apple tart with butterscotch. Magic! Decent wine list too. And the staff there are quite tasty too. All in all, worth the walk from Angel station but you will need a special offer so as to not break the bank.”

“If you like football and ale, then downstairs is a fairly decent place to hang out (food's not too shabby either). The real draw here though is the theatre upstairs. True immerse theatre in a small environment. Much more value for money that any West End pieces. And it's only a bus ride home (or to Clapham Junction - worth the trek). Great plays, cheap drinks and loads of really nice, culturally interesting, beautiful young ladies (the Irish redhead with the glasses, especially. She was a stunner!)”
