“extensive wine list, incl corsican wines which I would have loved to try but didn't, and apparently also a provencal focus in terms of food not only wine - the french fried I had were delicious. Recommend to go - just not on Bastille day 14 July as it gets very crowded and loud, french loud :)”

“Hi guys, been to this place which gets horrible reviews all over the web! Well, the atmosphere is great, as you're supposed to take off the shoes in the downstairs room (photo), and the seating is really nice and comfy, great. Now, the food: We ordered octopus as a starter amongst other things, and that was super-awesome. What they brought us was baby octopus from head to toe, with eyes and all. You just chuck them in and chew those raw little creatures hehe ;) - fresh? Yeah, that tasted fresh. We had fried crabs which looked good too, the aubergines which this place is known for were delicious, and my slow cooked pork was ok. Very fatty, and not entirely hot. Taking freshness and originality into account, I would rate this place a 2.7 out of 5. You CAN get better stuff in London for less money, I believe.”

“Very special place. You feel a bit like in a time hole, as the guests are somehow unique and a lot different to the usual pub audience, the place itself is SO unique that I actually started touching the green wooden wall (!) to explore its texture (yeah...akward), and last but not least, the beer: A simply unbelievably tasty IPA called St Peter's.”

“The venue itself is fantastic, right at the river in beautiful Kingston! A proper beer garden outside, very nice staff inside, too. However food is rather something to indulge when you're drunk already, not when looking for a super nice pub food. The side salad was horrible and anyway buried under the chips and steak - chips were absolutely delicious, steak was mediocre, matching the price though (£9.50 or so). Haven't tried their collection of ales, so worth going again. If you want a bit better food (taste, idea, layout) for a similar price, go to Woody's just 1 mile up the river.”
