The Market Trader (closed), City of London (Bar)
“Nice stripped out london boozer - had a really lovely late lunch here last week, and stayed on into the evening as they had an acoustic music night going on. Great atmosphere....”

Freemasons Arms, Hampstead (Bar)
“the biggest pub in hampstead. the biggest beer garden in hampstead. the handiest pub for an evening pint after a saturday afternoon in biggest park in north london. however, will this pub ever ever have more than 2 working behind the bar? i doubt it. will the manager tell you "im too busy to talk about this now, im training these 2 waiters up" and walk off when you point out that saturday afternoons are normally fairly popular in here to her? yes she will. will i go somewhere else next time? yeah, and i advise you to do likewise.”

3ONE7 Bar, Hampstead (Bar)
“kak sports bar with nothing going for it. a few tiny tv's dotted about, a big screen that's only visible from the stairs, and clueless staff. expensive and full of pikies. id suggest you go to the walkabout down the road instead, you'll see the action, plus you get the bonus of laughing at the ozzies who are still wearing flipflops in mid winter.”

Mojama (closed), Hampstead (Bar)
“Re-named but not seemingly revamped, this place seems to serve as the youth club for the young posh rich-kids of Hampstead, most of whom seem to be intent all trying to see who can spank the most on daddie's credit card. Nice flower arrangements on the bar mind...”

The Holly Bush, Hampstead (Bar / Restaurant)
“When I was young, there used to be small village near me called Ashby Parva, with a pub called the Hollybush. Which, to be frank, was a bit poo. Its Hampstead namesake is however a differant kettle of fish. If you can find it tucked away in the backstreets, you will come across coal fires, good real ales (unusual in london), alcoves and snugs aplenty, and great food selection. A proper village pub all in all, if rather lacking in young farmers out on the scrumpy.”

The Angelic, Angel & Islington (Bar)
“a great pub away from the crowds of upper street. the angelic is a better than average conversion of a traditional old man's pub-pub into light and airy bar. the reasonably priced modern-british menu changes monthly and theres always a good range of beers. Oh, and any place that pipes only fools and horses into the toilets gets my vote!”

The Green Bar & Restaurant, Willesden (Bar)
“about the only place in willesden green to get a decent pint. theres a large outdoor terrace, complete with heater at the front, which can become packed in the summer, whilst the smart restaurant at the back does interesting, if not a little pricey, gastro style menu. we can only hope it heralds the start of a general improvement in the area's social scene!”

The Langley (closed), West End (Bar / Restaurant)
“one of the late night london chain, its a lively venue for some later than 11pm drinking, with decent music and a pleasant crowd. however, the mostly male bar staff are a major negative factor - being of the "im so cool it hurts" variety, expecting healthy tips whilst criminally under-poring spirits. (im sorry, but for £3.75 a go, i expect rather more than a 3/4 of a single shot of gin with my tonic). disappointing for what could be a very good venue.”
