“My husband, 23 year old son, and 26 year old daughter got off a bus, hopelessley lost, trying to get back to Islington, stumbled upon the pub and were immediately rescued and assisted by a great barman from the pub. We thank you! Brilliant staff, met a number of fab London identities coming & going while we enjoyed a few hours of excellent service and assistance when we were lost & needed directions. Michael the proprieter was lovely. Thankyou to all the lovely staff for your wonderful gift of showing us the London we did not expect to see. We will be back.”

“Proper "front room" pub staffed by proper pub professionals. Great pint of Guinness and people in my company who drink real ale speak well of their beer. Gloriously untypical of Covent Garden watering holes.”

“Would have to be one of the most untrendiest pubs in Covent Garden but that is its charm. Pre theatre audience mixing with arty types and locals in a small bar makes for a great atmosphere, very un-Covent Garden. If you want the trendy and gorgeous set do not come here. Not sure if they still bring the Guinness in from Ireland but it is always a great pint served by the same staff over the years. Also a large range of whiskies on offer for those wanting a quick fix. For those of a taller stature mind your head on the way down to the toilets.”
