Three Blind Mice Bar Description

Three Blind Mice Bar is THE hidden gem for the discerning bon-viveur tired of the more obvious commercial joints in Shoreditch. An underground nook and two crannies located off the beaten track offering some of the best vodkas and rums in town and effortlessly offering that which other bars dream of - atmosphere and soul. Seek and you shall find your very own little private Hoxton hideaway.

Our wonderfully intimate basement bar continues to go from strength to strength, whilst remaining on the QT and very hush-hush.

The last few months have seen us host MOBO nominated DJs, the best artists on ‘before they get famous’ underground live music scene and a wide range of world renowned characters from the creative arts / music industry coming down to sample the unique vibe.

With the best spirits and beers from all over the world to tickle your taste buds, this unique little den of iniquity harks back to a simpler time when all anyone needed for a good night out was good drinks, smiles behind the bar and the best tunes you’ve never heard.

“Absolutely brilliant - friendliest bar ever, had a chat with the barman, the owner, the DJ and someone who had just wandered in and asked if they could pull up a chair and join us. Its a little scruffy, the guinness is 7% and the tunes are gooood (bit of reggae, soul)! Now that is what I want from a boozer!”

“This has to be the friendliest place in London. There's nobody that wont have openly have a conversation with you. Possibly the best bar in Shoreditch, if not the whole of London.”

“Stumbled across some night called Tangled Roots at 3 Blind Mice last Thursday and it was quality! Definitely going to the next one!”

“I popped in with some work mates the other friday as we were getting bored of the Shoreditch pub circuit. Well its like a cave down the stairs, the place was half ful but the music and the bar staff were very cool. Great vibe. Just as it got good we had to leave but back up on a business course in a few weeks and im hoping to catch the funky tunes on Stomp, Look and Listen night with The Funky Moose. I also want to check out a cinema night because i think the venue is ideal for that. Is it the new bass clef?”

“This venue is "underground" in every sense of the word! Although we needed the map provided by Fluid to find the bar it was worth the effort. Go through the door opposite the Griffin pub with "5" above it and come down the stairs to this wicked little basement bar. Dark red walls & low lighting create a fantastic atmosphere & the wide range of spirits & friendly bar-staff only add to this. It was a Friday in October & the bar was busy. The DJ played a wide range of funky tunes - soul, RnB, reggae & Funk and it felt like being at a house party. We asked for some cocktails and they were mixed excellently and the barman suggested other combinations for us. Need to mention the owners. There was a guy and the bottom of the stairs chatting with everyone and ensuring drinks stayed inside when people went to smoke. He was very relaxed and polite. It was towards the end of the night that we found out it was one of the owners. I've never seen someone so keen to engage his punters and again adds to an already great mix. I went back again in November to the same night & will be going back on Friday 7th December for the Bag O' Choonz Christmas special!”

“I loved this bar when I came to London for vacation. I found it by accident but would highly recommend. Bar staff are friendly and the music is very cool. I look forward to returning to the Three Blind Mice.”

“A real hidden gem - the sort of bar you're always hearing about but rarely find in London these days. Effortlessly cool while not trying to be, attracting a really diverse crowd who know their music. Worth looking for.”

“A toast - “For what it is and doesn’t promise to be”. Like an oasis in the desert, you'll find it only if you look hard enough or stumble upon it. Locality has to be what makes this place special, well locality and what you'll find down the narrow stairway that leads you into the bar. Locality is ideal for this neat but chilled-out retro bar that stands like a rebel to modern franchise gastro-pubs. Three Blind Mice also boasts a reviving non-commercial disc jockeying experience for all you real connoisseurs of real jazz, funk, raggae, soul and I guess hip hop. Think Common meets Billie Holiday or Aretha meets De La Soul. Words simply can not explain. Though a bit small, actually, ‘tiny’ is perhaps a better word you can't help but feel as though you have been transported to some other time and place. I expect though, that you will not forget exactly where you- check out it, its nice to get away from the "ra ra" crowd elsewhere.”

“Once you manage to find this bar, walking down the stairs will feel like the end of a treasure hunt as indeed it is. Walking in feels like visiting an old friend. The décor being more shabine than gastropub, this bar is for trendsetters rather than sheep with off the beaten track tunes coming through the speakers and a relaxed atmosphere that puts you right at ease. Every time I have been to Three Blind Mice, the music has been up beat enough for you to do a little jig when the spirit (or spirits as the case may be) takes you but not so loud you will have to rest your voice for a week if you try to have a conversation. If you listen hard enough you may discover your next favourite song! The bar staff are friendly and charming so if you are on a solo mission sitting by the bar will ensure a very good night. I would recommend trying some of the rum, some of which I haven’t seen anywhere else. All in all a great place to spend an evening, though I would recommend you get there early as the best seats are often taken by 9pm!”

“As someone only too happy to be out of the loop on the next uber-trendy East London hotspot, I found 3BM to be the kind of place you always hope still exists in London. No posers, no gimmicks, just am unpretentious bar with a fine array of spirits and an excellent music policy. A diamond in the rough.”

"Just excellent!! so tasty and very good services!! surely will come back!!" Which venue is this?

Hated

"Terrible customer service. No smile and a point to the table we were meant to be seated at instead of an escort like you would expect from a good quality restaurant. One waitress even said they were not..." Which venue is this?
