After an intensive renovation the Jolly came back to live under new management as Zeitgeist @ The Jolly Gardeners and is Londons’ first German Gastro Pub, offering 13 German beers from draught and more than 20 beers bottled. The kitchen serves excellent German Food, from Schnitzel over sausages to specialities from Cologne or Bavaria. On the two big screens they show Sky & Setanta including German Bundesliga.
The Jolly Gardeners has a history as a pub for 120 years. Charlie Chaplin was one of the famous locals; it is said that his father would frequently play on the pubs piano to entertain the local community. Scenes of two famous movies - “Snatch” and “The Calcium Kid” - were shot in the pub.
