“I'm not a big scene queen, but it appears that some of the other reviewers have a bit of a bone to chew about Catch 22. It's not perfect - the drinks are West End prices in North London; it is small and can be a bit 'clique-y'. The new newish ownership is keen on making money from people, gay or not. But it IS clean, it is very friendly and you can have a good time when you go there. The local gay community needs this place or face the poison of Old Compton Street.”

“Been to catch 22 a few times and the service is just terrible - all the staff think they are professionals. From what I've heard they can't even clean the beer lines??? Maybe this is why the beer is always sour and gritty? Cleanliness is terrible - guys toilet dosen't even have seat, tiles off walls, and the place is covered in flies! Avoid this bar would be my advise - spend you money elsewhere.”

“Brilliant night on Sundays - really funny quiz with a gameshow thrown in for extra measures. Bar staff really friendly. Very laid back gay bar - not in your face which I like. Keep it up!”

“Was there last sunday, biggest load of crap in terms of entertainment, never seen anything like it. Also bar is currently running out of beer on regular basis, three times I've been in and its not good. Its a big shame used to be a great place for the gay guys and gals to go but has gone downhill very fast! About time the owners either sell it to someone who cares, or decide which clientele they want. At the minute they would appear to be deserting their loyal gay following, and they in turn appear to be going somewhere else, and who can blame them.”

“Terrible place. Definitely not gay. On Friday and Saturday nights only about 20% gay. Lots of trouble, police never out of the bar. Really dissapointed as my friends and I went there 6 months ago and it was good but sadly gone down hill quick. The new people didn't take over in the end which was a shame they would have made a good job. I don't think the current owners care about the gay crowd any more. Sorry to have to say but this one should be avoided at all costs!”

“Nice local for a quiet drink after work, and supposedly gets very busy of a Friday/Saturday night. No food available but reasonably priced drinks and a pool table. Just under new ownership, so apparently some changes are going to be made. Don't expect a fantastic, modern day pub, but if you just want a drink and a bit of fun, it is a great place to go.”
