Giant Robot is a bar-café-deli-diner in Clerkenwell. We opened on 10 May and from now on will be serving brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks from 10am till late seven days a week.
 
If you like your lunch Italian, your brunch American, your dinner relaxed and your beer and cocktails icy cold, you’ll love Giant Robot.
 
You’ll also love our balls and sliders...

We do great locally roasted coffee all day, take out from 10am until 3pm – delicious, slim piadine, zesty salads and piping hot pasta – and our lunch door is open from noon. Try our Spaghetti & Meatballs, Giant Prawns, Cotechino Sausage and Salumi.
 
We serve a Staff/Family Meal for a fiver from 5-7pm Mon-Fri and a full dinner menu from 6pm until very late (on Thu, Fri and Sat our kitchen closes at 1am).

If you can make it past our Formaggi and on to dessert, you should try our 'Famous' Baked Alaska, flamed at your table and great for sharing. Or DIY an Ice Cream Sandwich from house-baked cookies and homemade ice cream.
 
If you just want drinks and a bite we do cicchetti and crostini as well as all sorts of tasty plates to share with counter dining in the bar. Our cocktails are killer. We’re open for drinks until midnight Mon-Wed, until 2am Thu-Sat and until 10pm on Sunday.

“Really loved this bar, can't believe I haven't been before. Perfect for cocktails (haven't had martini bianco since my early teens but well worth a revisit in to sample the Martini Cocktails again). I really like the sharing pate idea and we certainly got through a lot of tasty stuff (really recommend the meatballs and salumi plate). It just felt like a really friendly and cool bar and I was really pleased with myself for having found somewhere so good to show off to my friends!”

“The bar/restaurant is pleasantly cosy and spacious inside. My partner and I have been meaning to come down for a few weeks now as we live in the area and after our experience last night we will be sure to make this place our local. The service is absolutely fantastic, from the moment we were greeted at the door we felt extremely comfortable and at home. Initially we found the menu to be a little bit confusing however after the concept was explained it proved to be a very refreshing and sociable. The food is served are tapas sizes which made it great for us to share. We loved the butter bean salad, the tortelloni, and the giant prawns [which are actually giant!]. I was slightly disappointed by the giant sausage as the name is very deceiving, however as far as taste is concerned it was lovely. I think the meatballs could have been warmer and possible be served on top of the olive oil mash. All in all it was a lovely evening. I hope this helps! -Michele”
