Tucked away just off Clapham Common, Zahra Bar is part of Clapham’s bustling nightlife. With its striking Middle Eastern theme, the late night bar is situated on the lower ground floor of the Del’Aziz restaurant and deli, offering locals the ideal location for after-work drinks or a late night aromatic cocktail without the West End prices.
The cocktail menu has been created exclusively by bar manager Jussi Kalmi, (previously at Milk and Honey) and features twists on classic favourites alongside creative signature serves. Cocktails include Shanoush, Cinnamon-infused tequila with pear Cognac, fresh apple juice and green grapes (£7.50), Zahra, Pampero rum with pineapple, spices, lime and absinthe (£7.50) and Del’ight, an unusual combination of Hennessey Cognac with cigar syrup and chartreuse (£8). Alternatively, choose a glass of wine from a reasonably priced list that features intense, gutsy and robust wines from the Mediterranean, Lebanon and Morocco. A bar menu of sharing mezzes is also available and from Wednesday through to Saturday there is evening entertainment from belly dancers, jazz musicians and live DJs.

The atmospheric interior of Zahra Bar creates a stylish but fun backdrop. Brightly coloured wallpaper covers both the walls and ceiling and large copper Turkish tables are adorned with twinkling glass lanterns providing a cosy and intimate feel. Sit at the long high wooden table or head for the inviting sofas decorated with silk cushions in bright shades of pink, blue and green. For large groups there is a private seating area for up to 18 that can be curtained off from the main bar by decadent beads.
