The Gable Review
Book a table at The Gable
The Gable is a top quality restaurant by day and a vibrant bar by night. It has a hip modish look to it. The furniture and the bar are a combination of brown, black and grey giving it a strong powerful feel. But it’s the addition of the colour red that gives complementary warmth to the cool lines of the interior. The open kitchen is not only entertaining, but also gives people the chance to interact with the chefs.
Situated in the heart of the city it mainly attracts people who work in the Bank area. But the food and the service is worth travelling for. The menu changes every month and just like the staff it is an eclectic mix of modern European with a dash of Asia. The chilli and garlic marinated prawns with cold Asian noodle salad, spring onions and soy dressing is a perfect combination of flavours and like all the starters can be served as a main course. Besides the lunch menu there is a specials menu offering refreshing dishes; such as rainbow trout with cold couscous mixed with peppers, mint and chives. The desserts are based on traditional sweets with a new twist to them. The white chocolate and passion fruit mousse with fresh berries has a light and summery taste.
The staff is charming and good looking. Whether you wish them to be relaxed or formal one thing they will always be is friendly. They have personality and character without being intrusive. So if you are coming for a business lunch or want to kick back with your colleagues this place is versatile enough to meet your needs. At weekends it is possible to hire the location for a private party. And you can also book to watch any of the World Cup matches. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

The Gable Description
A trendy open-plan city bar, The Gable offers delicious European classics, ice-cold beers and a 50-strong wine list. In the dining room, glossy tiling, eclectic furnishings and exposed pipes evoke a funky East-end vibe, and a bustling open kitchen showcases the chefs at work. As well as succulent meat cuts and nostalgic 'old school' options, a speciality seafood range is consistently popular.

“The Gable is definitely up there with other top city bars - great fresh food (particularly loving the platters of nibbles). The wine selection is fabulous, but definitely the best thing about the Gable is the service. Marisa, Remi and the team make all customers feel welcome and valued. They are friendly, efficient and professional. p.s. Remi makes the best mojitos and many say he resembles Bradd Pitt - get down there ladies!”
