Gordon Ramsay Petrus Description
Book a table at Gordon Ramsay Petrus
It is with great delight that we announce the re-opening of Pétrus. The re-birth of Pétrus builds upon the successful and prestigious provenance of this restaurant now under Head Chef Sean Burbidge who will offer a modern European menu. He will be working closely with Mark Askew who has excelled as the Executive Chef of Gordon Ramsay Holdings over the past decade.
The new location at 1 Kinnerton Street in Knightsbridge displays a stunning open cellar in the centre of the dining room bringing to view over 1500 bottles of wine. Within the wine list are over thirty Pétrus vintages.
Head Chef Sean Burbidge’s menu, includes dishes such as roasted langoustine tails with watercress soup and confit potato, whole baked John Dory with mushrooms, lardons and Bordelaise sauce (for two people) and roasted beef fillet with braised shin, baked celeriac and Barolo sauce. Having joined Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in 2003, Burbidge progressed from Chef de Partie to Sous Chef, and in March 2008 moved to Versailles to launch Gordon Ramsay at the Trianon Palace.
Regulars of Pétrus will be delighted to know that Jean-Philippe Susilovic returns as Restaurant Director. J-P directed the dining room at Pétrus for five years and his unfailing charm and attention to detail has marked him as one of London’s outstanding hosts.
The Russell Sage Studio (York & Albany and the soon-to-be-opened Savoy Grill) has been responsible for the design of the dining room, creating a modern, light and accessible space with a gentle palette of oyster, soft silver and copper tints. The Pétrus' trademark of claret red spreads through the restaurant adding opulence to the dining room. The contemporary architecture of the building is continued internally with the discreet presence of fine leather and polished metals.
The most coveted table in the restaurant is the Chef’s Table, overlooking the kitchen which allows up to six guests to witness the drama of service and theatre of the kitchen....read more

“Petrus is Gordon Ramsey's reclamation of the previous Marcus Waering-run establishment in the Berkeley Hotel.
Petrus is a beautiful restaurant with a glorious central wine storage pillar that shows off probably the world's most extensive collection of Petrus wine. The dining room is luxurious, thickly carpeted, heavyweight cutler, crystal glassware and offers a real sense of decadence.
It is such a shame then that the food doesn't quite match up to thie tactile experience. The flavours in general were a tad insipid - the majority of the dishes didn't really offer a true wow factor in the mouth. Yes, the plates are glorious to look at and it is like art, but eating with only the eyes is a little empty as an experience. Although in saying all of that, the best end of Devon lamb with sweetbreads was sensationalr.
However, and this may just be my rose-tinted spectacles talking, but Marcus Waering did it better when he ran Petrus at the Berkley. There was something even more special about Marcus' cooking, an almost ethereal lightness of touch that in no way detracted from the fullness of flavour on the plate.
Make no mistake, Petrus is pretty good, but doesn't always live up to the hype. It isn't all that expensive at £60 for three courses so is actually quite good value in relative terms! I'll be back eventually, but I think I'll go and visit Marcus first to compare!”
