“My father, David ran "the ship" and we lived there for 10 years so i hope any regulars reading this will remember me,ie compo,guy,stuart etc!! The ship as i remember it was a fantastic pub and i hope that the refurbishment of it hasnt ruined the great atmosphere there. it is a special pub! i know john and kay very well and im glad the pub is in such good hands.”

“This is one of the best pubs in the area. It attracts passers-by along the river, popping in for a swifty and a strong friendly local following. Well located on the river. What cement works? Its actually the Budweiser brewery behind it. Ive enjoyed a visit in the winter and the summer, both times being different in atmosphere. I was told it has one of the best Quiz nights in London every Tuesday. The staff are friendly with an eccentric, celebrity type, Irish Landlord called John who is full of interesting facts, a sort of Irish Ray Stubbs. Overall You dont get many pubs with a great view of this calibre.”

“Brilliant in the summer where they do a cracking BBQ good views over the Thames, just a shame its next to the cement works, nevertheless food was good and beer well kept. It was quite busy for a mid week lunchtime. Just a bit of difficulty parking the car .... like everywhere else in London”
