Camden Head Review

The Camden Head is good for two things; for comedy and for the summer months. As a comedy venue, the old style pub gives up and coming performers the opportunity to show off their talent on a regular basis. With the upstairs hosting a comedy night every evening of the week, rumours suggest they are very entertaining.

The entrance fee for these shows are reasonable and rarely cost more than a fiver. So what looks like a simple old man pub located just off essex road and through camden passage has more in store than you'd think. The Camden Head is also perfect for those summer months again due to the location, but also because there are benches and tables placed outside. If you have walked passed on a hot summers day then you too would have seen the flocks of people chilling outside.

Other than those two pointers, the Camdens Head is a simple pub with horrible carpets, a cosy fire but a nice varied menu. If you want a laugh and a slightly different night out or a tipple outside in the warmth (when it is warm of course) then come along. If you don't look any further than that then yeah, all it is is another pub.

Dating back to the 1800’s, the Camden Head is supposed to be haunted, problem is the ghost ducked out of fulfilling its duties back in 1991 – maybe this year it’ll return from its holiday and make a reappearance....read more

“Great quirky location, nice little beer garden outside, a decent selection of beers on tap, plenty of comfy seating, roaring fire, a comedy club upstairs twice a week (free to get in too I think), and loads of cool, beautiful people. The best pub in Angel.”
